This superb and special place has an amazing ambiance all of it's own. Designed with immaculate attention to detail, epic proportions and natural environmentally considered materials throughout. The unique design of the home features 12' - 16' ceilings with walls of windows filling the space with natural light and overall spaciousness. The stone floors are warm to the touch from the radiant heating beneath and are made from the same Idaho Quartz that was used to construct the unforgettable feature fire place and waterfall shower that makes this property absolutely one-of-a-kind.
The Master Bedroom:

No detail was overlooked or amenity missed in the design or decoration in this cabin themed kitchen & cutlery.
The Guest Bedroom:
Getting away from it all doesn’t have to mean missing the big game. Open up the cabinet to a big screen TV and kick back in the leather furniture for a home away from home comfort. If needed an Air Mattress can be inflated and used as a second bed with a memory foam mattress pad that makes for the most comfortable accessory bed you'll ever sleep in.
The lodge pole pine used to construct the building was originally from the Kahneeta Indian Reservation in Central Oregon and was reclaimed from a dead-tree forest that was victim to beetle infestation which left intricate and intriguing markings on the surface of many of the logs.
This a truly special place. Situated on Rock Creek River and encompassing 800 feet of naturally landscaped river front property that is home to two uniquely fascinating waterfall falls and an overwhelming degree of natural scenic beauty. We had a great time at the cabin. We have a four month old and were looking for a place to rest and relax...and we found it! The pictures are accurate, Max and Sam were very responsive and accommodating, and we had a fantastic vacation. Hope to stay here again in the future!
This was the second time we have stayed at Max and Sam's cabin and it was just as good , if not better, than the first time. We had made a few minor suggestions after our first stay of things to add to make the experience even better (full length mirror, magnified make-up mirror, etc.). Not surprisingly, since they are wonderful hosts, Max & Sam had added them all. The place was again impeccably clean and full of all the little welcome amenities that make a visit extra special. We took advantage of the great weather and hung out in the river quite a bit. Even repelled down the forty foot waterfall. In the evenings we played ping-pong and pool and enjoyed the jacuzzi and some of the board games, of which there is an ample supply. The kitchen is so well stocked that it is a snap to prepare meals in when dining out gets old. Our second visit felt like we were coming home. We look forward to many more stays in the future.
First Fall is an exquisitely beautiful place, very comfortable and welcoming. The Doblies did a great job preparing us for our visit. The facilities all work as promised and we had a most relaxing time. My only watch out is that despite the fact that the little river and swimming hole are easily visible from the house, it requires a little effort to get there.
We were at Max and Sam's cabin for a week and this experience was an absolute delight. The quality of the kitchen, the furnishings, the tempurpedic bed, and all the amenities provided (wood pellet BBQ, jacuzzi, ping pong table, pool table) were superb and lived up to the wonderful pictures in the listing. Even the small items like ping pong paddles and pool cues were in great shape.
Max and Sam were incredibly attentive hosts. This was our first Airbnb experience and Max & Sam were very responsive to all of our emails prior to our visit. They also texted during our visit to make sure everything was going okay. Their welcome letter and instructions on using the cabin amenities were thorough and easy to follow. And their recommendation for a local restaurant was excellent.
All the small touches they added - makings for s'mores, bottle of wine, comfortable bathrobes, wi-fi access, firewood prepped in the fireplace, lots of books and games and DVDs, guides to local points of interst- made our stay so comfortable and showed the thoughtfulness of our hosts for our enjoyment. The kitchen was so well stocked with spices and all the prep item - pans, pots, dishes and utensils - that it was like being in our own kitchen at home. You can cook if you want or eat in town. We had great meals at the Big River Grill and Joe's El Rio Mexican Restaurant.
The location in Stevenson was central to so many outdoor activities. Everyday we hiked a new trail, saw a spectacular waterfall or visited a different point of interst, all within easy driving distance,
Of all the things that we loved about the cabin, two really stood out. The rock waterfall shower in the master bathroom and the ridiculously awesome location overlooking Rock Creek and its two waterfalls. The sound of the rushing water over the falls was so relaxing.
All of these things added together made this our best vacation in 25 years. We enjoyed it so much that we booked Max & Sam's cabin for a return visit before our first visit was over. Our only regret - it was too warm in July to use the fireplace.
We had a fabulous stay at First Fall's Cabin! It was everything the pictures show and more. We will definitely return. Experience was seamless, and the property is beautiful. Thank you, Max and Sam!
My fiance and I were looking for a private, quiet getaway from our busy professional lives in Chicago and this place delivered. It's a beautiful cabin with very gracious hosts that respond quickly to messages/questions if you have any. Wouldn't mind coming back again in spring and check out all the wineries in the area.
Max and Sam have a truly special getaway log cabin in the heart of the Columbia River Gorge. This was a luxurious treat for our anniversary, and we are already plotting our return! They have thought of everything, even s'mores fixings upon your arrival. The jacuzzi was especially lovely, at night under the stars, with the sound of the 40-foot waterfall a few hundred meters away. We cannot recommend this place highly enough.

Demanding work schedules keep us preoccupied most of the time but our "Work-Hard / Play-Hard" mentality helps us balance it all out in the off-hours. We're new to Airbnb but love the idea and are looking forward to sharing our space and getting to be a part of the Airbnb community.
Born in Calcutta India, Sam developed an absolute love of flavorful foods and is a "Foodie" thru-and-thru. Spicy food is her specialty and she's known for carrying around a packet of red-pepper flakes in her purse as a "just-in-case" precaution against bland meals. Max is a Portland native with a love of languages, sports and anything active.
