Hard to fault Gabor and his flat so I won't even try. Had a great 4 nights in his flat and anything from the late checkout to advice on acquiring industrial design pieces was dished out with a smile and kindness to ensure I had the best time possible. Flat is in top notch condition and now with brand new aircon (silent and efficient) . Roof terrace got sun from about 11am until 7pm so for a sun worshiper like me it was a perfect oasis to relax when not enjoying my runs around Margitzsiget. Highly recommended with close proximity to parliament , west end city centre and funky pop up bars around District XI. Kim
Gabor was friendly and available through the entire process and his place was great. It was the perfect place for a weekend in Budapest for the Sziget festival. It's is in a great location that's a short walk to the Danube and right near a major train station.
The only complaint that I have is in regards to the AC. It was so hot the weekend we visited and we needed to use the AC, but it made so much weird noise and I had a lot of trouble sleeping.
Thanks for your review and also thanks for the feedback regarding the airco. It would have been great if you could have mention it durring your stay. There is always a way to fix the airco. I didn't know about this problem. Indeed when I checked the apartment after you left I was suprised of the noise of the airco. I called immediately the service and it's done now. Working again without noise.
I hope you still enjoyed sziget and the other facilities of the flat.
I can't say that we had the best time in this apartment. Unfortunately I was quite sick during my time here and I had food poisoning, so we had to spend a lot of time in the apartment. The airconditioning did not work properly, and made a terrible sound. The air conditioning was so bad that we couldn't sleep in the bedroom (as the cold air wouldn't reach there). We had to sleep on a pull out sofa that was quite uncomfortable. What made it worse is that the tv in the pictures... had no subscriptions to any of the many english channels. So there's not much point having the tv there at all unless you can understand hungarian (I assume most people staying don't). We asked if we could rent some movies and pay Gabor the money (as I was sick and we were in every night). He said that we couldn't. Overall, the flat looked pretty, and was as it looked in the pictures. The location was quite good... but we were quite uncomfortable in there. Sorry.
Thank you for your comments however let me (website hidden):
2 Frenc speaking chanels at the television in the apartment. Do you think that none of my previous guest would have been complaining since it's advertised with multi languages cable TV?
Please do not mislead my future guests with your review.
Yes it's NOT possible to wach pay TV in the apartment. How do you think I can controll the pay tv? It's not an option, since there are several chanels to wach on other languages besides Hungarian
It's working. Yes it was noisy but it was working. Since you didn't warn me meanwhile you stayed at the apartment that you have problem with the airco what do you expect? How can I help on the problem if I don't know about it?
Since then the airco is fixed so no more noise problem.
He was super helpful with organizing transportation to the airport and had amazing suggestions regarding area restaurants. He always responded quickly to any questions.
Well kept apartment with lovely terrace in good location not far from the Danube and Nyugati train station.
Gabor is a good host, responded to our messages quickly and ordered us taxis to and from the airport.
We really enjoyed our visit to Budapest - and we would recommend this apartment for staying in Pest.
We enjoyed our 4 day stay thoroughly. Due to our late arrival (1AM) we were met by Gabor's friend Peter, all went smooth, communication with Gabor was prompt and clear. There was a slight problem with ants in the apartment but Gabor sorted it out within a few hours. The location is great with restaurants, bars and shops around the corner. All in all highly recommended.
Gabor is a great host!
And your home is wonderful, very well decorated, pleasant, cozy and functional! Besides being really close to everything in Budapest!
Have breakfast on the balcony is priceless !!! It's like being at home!
Walk and enjoy the Margaret Island, a few meters from the house, is a real privilege.
Gabor is very friendly, attentive and provided us all the best indications, restaurants, supermarkets, walks ...
Thanks for everything.
See you soon in Brazil!

I have been helping travellers for 16 years. I started as a local guide, nowadays I'm running my own travel agency. I love Budapest because of its special location, great spas and colourful nightlife.
If you are planning a city break or longer stay I'll help you to make it a memorable one.
