Escape to a one-of-a-kind home. Eclectic, luxurious, spacious and a peaceful wonderland setting in both winter or summer. The home is sat on the west side of Buttermilk Mountain, one of the best ski mountains that the US has to offer, much less Aspen itself. Only 5 minutes to Aspen airport, amenities and only 10 minutes drive to downtown Aspen. This is a very special private property where you can relax and enjoy the untouched nature that surrounds you.
The space
This house has been a product of love over time which you will feel as soon as you're inside. This is a one-of-kind luxury rental with 3 ensuite bedrooms, sleeping up to 8 people (Max 6 adults + 2 kids).
The home offers the most gorgeous panoramic, uninhibited views all the way to Mt. Sopris near Carbondale. It is truly a winter and summer wonderland.
There is no shortage of windows and open space which provides incredible light and views with black-out blinds throughout for those long cozy morning snoozes.
The downstairs consists of a long mudroom/library where you enter into your cozy retreat and take off all those outdoor clothes (or ski boots) and make yourself at home.
The house has a top-floor, king bed, master bedroom with an ensuite (jet bath) bathroom. This room also has its own private deck leading the the front of the house.
Downstairs you'll find a very spacious 2nd Master bedroom with electric inclining/reclining king bed and its own inbuilt Moroccan-style double bathtub with adjoining ensuite shower and toilet. This room has private access to the garden.
Next door is bedroom 3 with a queen bed and super comfy temper pedic mattress. Another ensuite bathroom with both a bath and a shower. This room also has private access to the garden.
UPPER MASTER:
The Upper Master bedroom is very spacious, bright and colorful. It is designed to feel like a bit of a sanctuary, a place to wake up and read, write and be at peace. It has a very comfortable king size bed, large wardrobe and 2 reclining leather chairs.
It has a large ensuite bathroom with separate shower and bathtub. This room also has its own private entrance and veranda, accessed from the front of the house.
This room is great for yoga (mats included) there is a tv in this bedroom with a Roku streaming device (access to Netflix, amazon prime, hbo go etc) and a DVD player.
DOWNSTAIRS MASTER BEDROOM 2:
The downstairs master is inspired by the owners travels to Morocco and love for Moroccan design. It has an electric reclining/inclining king bed with a very comfortable new mattress.
The main highlights of the lower master bedroom is that you can still see the gorgeous view to Mt. Sopris. You can crawl out of bed and indulge in a nice bubble bath to relax, and watch the little deer coming by to say hello in the morning. This room has a TV and DVD and wifi enabled Roku (access Netflix, amazon prime, hbo go etc).
3rd QUEEN BEDROOM:
This room is beautiful, simple and calming. The bathroom has a shower and bath. It has TV and DVD with ROKU as with the other bedrooms.
KITCHEN:
You will find a beautiful kitchen with a 6 burner AGA stove, and stainless steel appliances, and everything you could need to cook up the meals of your imagination. There is a large family style table in the kitchen for meal time. (Webber propane grill outside)
GREENHOUSE:
There is also a green house which you are more than welcome to harvest any kale, chard or whatever else is growing seasonally. In the winter the greenhouse creates a huge amount of heat during the day and is a great place to warm or dry your clothes if the electric dryer is busy.
LIVING ROOM:
In the living room you'll be very comfortable with down feather filled couches with many lambs throws to keep and wool blankets to keep you warm and cozy if the large wood burning fireplace doesn't make you feel warm and cozy enough (although I can assure you it will :)
In the summer, open all the doors and windows for beautiful mountain breezes all day long.
Also, the Living room has a long window day bed (see pics). It consists of two futons on top which can be situated to wherever you like for 2 extra twin beds (for the little ones?)
Dividing the kitchen/dining room and living room is a beautiful wood fired custom fireplace which is great for cozy nights.
Below the window beds you'll find pull out drawers with cotton bedding and fluffy pillows for the futon day beds should you choose to use them.
There is a large deck with a big Webber grill for any BBQing desires. living room has a TV, DVD and ROKU.
OUTDOOR GARDEN: my husband recently landscaped our garden into a beautiful oasis. with wild flowers and luscious green lawn for lazing on during hot summer days. There is a beautiful flagstone walkway and stairs to access the garden from the upper level. There is also a fire pit (fire restriction dependent).
Guest access
The only out of bounds areas are the garage and a small storage room on the lower level.
Other things to note
STRICT NO SHOES POLICY
The cleaning fee is $250 per 1-7 day stay, $450 per 7-14days and increases $250 every week after (for stays of 14-30 days or more). It is very important for us to have the house cleaned on a weekly basis.
PLEASE BE AWARE: This is an older house which runs off of a hot water heater and a boiler. If you try to take showers/baths, run the dish washer and washing machine all at the same time you will probably run out of hot water. With this in mind, if you want to have happy hot water often, we recommend staggering things like showers, laundry and dishwasher. :)

VERY IMPORTANT: For your vehicles safety; do not park under the eaves of the house in the winter. Snow falling off the roof can damage your car.
Firewood for winter vacations can be purchased at the local stores.
