The Space

A newly rennovated ski chalet in the quiet village of Villette, Le Chable. The chalet is a 5 minutes walk from the bubble (ski lift) which connects with the world famous ski resort of Verbier.

Le Chable is also where the train connects to Martigny and onto Geneva and Zurich airports. It is also possible to fly into Sion during the winter.

In the winter the chalet offers excellent access to skiing and other
winter sports. It is also possible to sample the nightlife of Verbier with a 15 minute taxi ride. In the summer there are many exciting activities such as mountain biking, hiking, riding and paragliding as well as more sedate activities such as swimming, walking, golf and tennis. It is also a perfect base for taking on the challenging Haute Route.
There is also an excellent music festival over the summer months which attracts classical musicians and fans from all across the globe. Last year Kiri Te Kanawa was one of the stars of the festival.

The chalet has a large modern kitchen with wonderful views of the mountains. There is a large dining room table which seats 8 comfortably but can be extended twice to seat up to 12 people depending on the size of your group. The spacious sitting room has a wood burning cast iron stove which creates a very cosy atmosphere and has 2 large 3 seater sofas. The chalet has 4 bedrooms. Two of these bedrooms are extremely large and each have a king size bed as well as a sitting room area which can be converted into extra sleeping space for large groups or familys. Both of these large bedrooms have an ensuite bathroom, one with a bath and the other with a shower. All four bedrooms can be made up as either doubles (one large bed) or twins (2 beds). Of the 2 smaller bedrooms one has a large ensuite shower room while the other is next to a large family bathroom with a bath and over bath shower as well as a washing machine.

The chalet is baby and child friendly. We provide one real cot and extra travel cots, highchairs, potties, non slip bath mats, night lights, bottle steriliser, some toys and it is possible to hire a buggy locally. Please ask me for more information if you are travelling with a young family and I will be more than happy to help.

There is also a lovely garden with fruit trees which can be used lwhen the weather is nice towards the end of the ski season and also in the summer. Off street parking is also available next to the chalet.

Le Chable is a pretty village with a good community spirit. There are several shops, including 2 supermarkets, 2 pharmacies and a bakery with coffee shop, within walking distance of the chalet. There are also several restaurants to suit all budgets, again all within walking distance.

As we use the chalet as our home when we do not have Airbnb guests it is very well equipped, especially the kitchen. We also have ample equipment for babies and children, including cots, high chairs, stair gates as well as sterilisers, plastic crockery and even some toys including sledges.

We are very flexible so please get in touch to plan your holiday.

There is a special rate for Christmas and New year as this is our most popular period.

  • Lucy was a wonderful host and has a wonderful chalet. We had a girls ski weekend and the chalet was amazingly equipped, brilliantly located and beautifully decorated. We had a fantastic stay and I would highly recommend going to stay there. We were 10 in total and we all fitted in brilliantly, great living room/dinning room for a large group of people.

  • 7 of us stayed at Chalet Luda and we had an amazing time. It is super close to the Le Chable bubble that takes you up to Verbier. There is a great ski hire shop just down the street and supermarkets and bakeries near by. The chalet was a great alternative to staying in Verbier. I would definitely stay here again.
Lucy is very helpful and super accommodating. The chalet had everything we needed, including the kitchen basics which meant we just had to by meat, veg, bread and fruit for our 5 days. It was super clean with more then enough bedlinen and towels and really warm too.

  • Lucy's apartment was great. Very clean, comfortable and had everything we needed. It is very close to the lift station, so no problem going to Verbier and back. It closes at 7:30pm so for any nightlife you can easily take cabs and it is only ~10chf per person, which is not bad. Highly recommend it

  • Recommendations: This is great chalet for 6-8 people, well equipped, clean and cozy. Located 5 minutes walk from the ski lift. The chalet was shared with other people who lived on the ground floor.
Weaknesses: communication experience -- after payment didn't received any messages from Lucy without reminders, nobody meet us at the accommodation day and really bad experience after we left the chalet. Even we have paid for the chalet more than normal price including fees for the cleaning, Lucy have asked us to pay extra clean fee for 250 Swiss Franks motivated that the chalet was dirty after us. I strongly don't think so. The chalet was very clean, taking into account that 9 people spent 4 days there. I think that it is normal if guests who have paid USD4000 for 4 nights didn't make wet cleaning and washing the towels etc.

I was very disappointed this Lycy's hysteric reaction about that. I think requested 250 Swiss Franks is outrage for this. We have confidential photos of the chalet we leaved and this was good. As for the rubbish, we EVERYTIME put it to the commun beans that Lucy have asked us. Even we had mistake with this it is only miscommunication problem because we didn't know the local rules and nobody told us personally about that and didn't showed at the place.

I'm sorry that didn't response before as I was in Nepal for a month without internet access.

I believe that your experience will be better then ours and have a nice stay there.

  • We had an absolutely wonderful family vacation at Lucy's chalet in Le Chable. We have 3 children from ages 12 to 4 and had my brother, his teen boys and my parents with us. The chalet was big enough to accommodate all 3 families and we never felt like we were on top of each other. The entire space was extremely clean and neat but kid friendly. The kitchen was well equipped and spacious for a large family because it adjoined the common living area. We adored Le Chable. We were within a five minute walk to the grocery and about an eight minute walk to the lifts to Verbier. We loved that a little restaurant named L'Escale was just up the street. The owner and his wife were extremely friendly and even made us fabulous pizza to carry out on New Year's Eve. Lucy was very informative and always quick to respond to any questions or concerns. A cozy, inviting place helps make your stay and I would definitely give this chalet 5 stars.

  • We had a fantastic Christmas holiday in Le Chable. The Chalet was very well equiped and worked perfectly for our two families with our 5 teenagers. The lift to the Verbier skiing area is pretty close and can be reached by foot. We did drive however and the parking was very well organised and free. The lift brings you up past Verbier city and up in the terrain – very practical. From the lift station in Les Chable there is a new lift to the skiing area on the other side of the valley which we didn’t try but was recommended by friends especially if snow makes the visibility low.
Lucy was very helpful before we arrived and also during our stay, where she gave us good recommendations and other practical info. We felt us very welcome and would like to recommend this Chalet to others.

  • I rented Lucy's chalet with my family of 5 for one particularly beautiful week in July. We had a lovely stay. There was more than enough space for all of us, which was really what we were looking for and the place was very clean. The weather was excellent, which is why it was really a shame that the outdoor space was greatly lacking, although it was improved somewhat, as arranged by Lucy, part way through our stay. However, the lack of comfortable and easily accessible outdoor space was a let down. A balcony would have been great. We were also surprised and disappointed that there was no grill/bbq. I can, however, see how this chalet would be absolutely perfect during colder weather/ski season. Lucy was easy to get in touch with and very accommodating, however, a detailed checklist of important information should be provided upon check-in/arrival in order to avoid confusion for guests.

About
I spent 2 years rennovating a charming, old swiss farm house in the heart of the alps and close to the world famous ski resort of Verbier. I love spending time here as so much of the lifestyle is based outdoors which I love. In the winter I ski and in the summer I like to take advantage of the many walks and swim in the mountain lakes, sometimes I can even be tempted onto a bicycle! We now have a young daughter so the house is fully baby friendly too, we have everything from Moses baskets to sterilisers and even a spare buggy.
