A newly rennovated ski chalet in the quiet village of Villette, Le Chable. The chalet is a 5 minutes walk from the bubble (ski lift) which connects with the world famous ski resort of Verbier.
Le Chable is also where the train connects to Martigny and onto Geneva and Zurich airports. It is also possible to fly into Sion during the winter.
In the winter the chalet offers excellent access to skiing and other
winter sports. It is also possible to sample the nightlife of Verbier with a 15 minute taxi ride. In the summer there are many exciting activities such as mountain biking, hiking, riding and paragliding as well as more sedate activities such as swimming, walking, golf and tennis. It is also a perfect base for taking on the challenging Haute Route.
There is also an excellent music festival over the summer months which attracts classical musicians and fans from all across the globe. Last year Kiri Te Kanawa was one of the stars of the festival.
The chalet has a large modern kitchen with wonderful views of the mountains. There is a large dining room table which seats 8 comfortably but can be extended twice to seat up to 12 people depending on the size of your group. The spacious sitting room has a wood burning cast iron stove which creates a very cosy atmosphere and has 2 large 3 seater sofas. The chalet has 4 bedrooms. Two of these bedrooms are extremely large and each have a king size bed as well as a sitting room area which can be converted into extra sleeping space for large groups or familys. Both of these large bedrooms have an ensuite bathroom, one with a bath and the other with a shower. All four bedrooms can be made up as either doubles (one large bed) or twins (2 beds). Of the 2 smaller bedrooms one has a large ensuite shower room while the other is next to a large family bathroom with a bath and over bath shower as well as a washing machine.
The chalet is baby and child friendly. We provide one real cot and extra travel cots, highchairs, potties, non slip bath mats, night lights, bottle steriliser, some toys and it is possible to hire a buggy locally. Please ask me for more information if you are travelling with a young family and I will be more than happy to help.
There is also a lovely garden with fruit trees which can be used lwhen the weather is nice towards the end of the ski season and also in the summer. Off street parking is also available next to the chalet.
Le Chable is a pretty village with a good community spirit. There are several shops, including 2 supermarkets, 2 pharmacies and a bakery with coffee shop, within walking distance of the chalet. There are also several restaurants to suit all budgets, again all within walking distance.
As we use the chalet as our home when we do not have Airbnb guests it is very well equipped, especially the kitchen. We also have ample equipment for babies and children, including cots, high chairs, stair gates as well as sterilisers, plastic crockery and even some toys including sledges.
We are very flexible so please get in touch to plan your holiday.
There is a special rate for Christmas and New year as this is our most popular period.
Other Things to Note
There is a local tourist tax payable on arrival. It is chf1.50 per night per adult over 16 years old. It is chf 0.75 per night per child aged between 6 and 16.
The tourist office is located in the Le Chable train station next to the ski lift and a 5 minute walk from the chalet. It is open Monday to Friday 8:30-16:30 (except lunch between 12 and 14).
It is YOUR responsibility to pay this tax and the Swiss take it very seriously if not paid.
No ski boots or smoking inside the Chalet please.
By prior arrangement it may be possible to have a later check out or an earlier check in depending on how tight the change over will be.
It will be possible to leave the bags in the chalet either before you check in or after you have checked out.
The chalet is very well maintained, comfortable, and cozy. The kitchen and rooms are well equipped with practically everything you need.
Le-chable proved to be a very quiet place. If you are looking for some apres-ski activity and something to do in the evening other than relax on the sofa, you better have a car with you. Otherwise you will need to rely on the lift to Verbier (until 19:30 every day) or public buses, that are not very frequent at night.
The chalet was great - large and spacious with everything we needed. All the bedrooms have their own bathrooms which is very covenient when staying with a large group!! The daily walk to the ski-lift was also very manageable.. The only pity was
not being able to easily get to Verbier in the evenings for apres-ski and dinner. Having said that, the chalet itself is perfect for a cosy dinner.
The main gondola lift now runs until 19:30 everyday. We find this gives us time to enjoy apres ski in verbier before returning to the chalet for supper. Sometimes we head straight home from skiing and then catch the 19:30 lift up to Verbier to go out for supper. When we do this we catch the "luna" post bus down the hill which runs until just after midnight. I hope this is useful information for future guests.
Wonderful Chalet, we felt at home right away. Lucy was an excellent host. Close to the shops and the gondola up to Verbier+ Ski slopes.
The reservation was canceled 142 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.
Ha sido una estancia muy agradable. Un chalet bien dotado, no faltaba de nada y muy comodo y agradable Todo a mano y muy cerca del cable para Vervier y otros valles.
Lucy was a wonderful host and has a wonderful chalet. We had a girls ski weekend and the chalet was amazingly equipped, brilliantly located and beautifully decorated. We had a fantastic stay and I would highly recommend going to stay there. We were 10 in total and we all fitted in brilliantly, great living room/dinning room for a large group of people.
7 of us stayed at Chalet Luda and we had an amazing time. It is super close to the Le Chable bubble that takes you up to Verbier. There is a great ski hire shop just down the street and supermarkets and bakeries near by. The chalet was a great alternative to staying in Verbier. I would definitely stay here again.
Lucy is very helpful and super accommodating. The chalet had everything we needed, including the kitchen basics which meant we just had to by meat, veg, bread and fruit for our 5 days. It was super clean with more then enough bedlinen and towels and really warm too.

I spent 2 years rennovating a charming, old swiss farm house in the heart of the alps and close to the world famous ski resort of Verbier. I love spending time here as so much of the lifestyle is based outdoors which I love. In the winter I ski and in the summer I like to take advantage of the many walks and swim in the mountain lakes, sometimes I can even be tempted onto a bicycle!
We now have a young daughter so the house is fully baby friendly too, we have everything from Moses baskets to sterilisers and even a spare buggy.
