About This Listing
Welcome to my place!
The apartment is situated in the city center, called Nygårdshøyden, an old and charming part of Bergen. Today this is the main university area of Bergen, where Bergen museum and the museum garden is located. You will find Grieghallen and the bus and train station within a 5 minute walk radius. The famous Fish market and Bryggen, is just a 15 minute walk away. Shops, cafe`s and restaurants nearby.
The available room (11m2) is quiet and isolated from the general living area, and has newly been rebuild and redecorated.(jan-13) It comes with heated floor, flat screen TV and wireless internet. A continental bed (150 cm), available space for personal belongings, and a back-yard window, makes the room the perfect space for a good rest after a busy day as a tourist in Bergen. Next door you will find a big bathroom with water closet and av hot tub. The bathroom will be yours most of your stay, except when my 3 year old son wants to take a bath or when I have laundry day.
The rest of the 95 m2 apartment has a cozy home-feeling, as most of the original features from the 1890`s are kept in their original splendor. The kitchen also has a authentic old style, with a nice sitting place and an open fire place. The kitchen also leads into the rest of the apartment where I live with my son and my lazy cat.
I will happily give you advice on how to get around the city and what to see during your stay in Bergen.

We only stayed one night at Mari's apartment and had to leave early the next morning. The room was charming, clean, cozy and the bed was very comfortable. The spacious ensuite bathroom was fantastic ! Mari prepared a simple but delicious Norwegian breakfast. There was complete privacy as the bedroom/bathroom was separate from the rest of the apartment. Even during breakfast, Mari ensured that we had the kitchen (where breakfast was served) all to ourselves ! I must also mention Olaf (Mari's father) who happened to stay over to care for Johannes (Mari's very cute son) as Mari was working night shift. Olaf was a delightful conversationist and, in the little time we had, told us so much about Norway and it's history. No hesitation at all to recommend Mari's apartment. If you are doing a short stay in Bergen, don't think twice!
Mari was an incredible host and even went to the trouble to give us breakfast in the morning. She was welcoming and warm. The apartment is in a great location.
Mari is the best and most delightful host I have ever stayed at and she made me feel more like a friend of hers than just someone renting a room, even though her cute son called me "the tourist". The room and bathroom were large and clean and Mari also served a great breakfast. If you want to stay in a friendly and social atmosphere in an old and cosy apartment with great location, Mari is the host to choose.
Very centrally located and easy to walk to everything. Cosy room with large bathroom. Mari was a lovely host, very relaxed and easy to chat to and made us a delicious breakfast. Would recommend anyone to stay here.
La casa es acogedora y la ubicación muy buena. Mari es una buena anfitriona e hizo que nos sintiéramos como en casa.
I had an absolutely lovely time staying here. Mari was incredibly helpful and great to talk to! Her home is lovely and in a great location, five minute walk from the central train/bus station as well as the central parts of the city. I definitely recommend staging here and hope to be back!

About the Host, Mari
Open and positive girl who enjoy life and appreciate new experiences. Love travelling myself, and have been lucky enough to have lived in different countries and there learing their ways of loooking at life and lifestyle/culture. I must admit that living in Norway makes me prefer travel destinations with a nice and warm climate, the mexican caribbian being one of my favorite places. Renting out a room in my flat is hopefully going to make me meet a lot of interesting people from all over the world with more or less the same travelling spirit as myself.
