Beautiful 1908 Craftsman home(upper apartment) in the heart of one of the most sought after neighborhoods in Portland. This is urban living at it's finest. Beautiful high end historic homes, gorgeous tree lined boulevards, wonderful people, and extremely close to many wonderful restaurants and shopping. This is one of the best neighborhoods in Portland without a doubt. The wonderful and energetic neighborhoods of Alameda, Beaumont-Wilshire, Concordia, Laurelhurst and Grant Park all surround Historic Irvington, but she is the Grand Dame of them all!
A car is not absolutely necessary, walk to the MAX(transportation system - 10 min.) and the bus line is around the corner. Quiet, peaceful house. Accurately described. Easily possible to stay without ever needing the host.
We enjoyed this beautiful home with our sons during the recent NCAA sub-regional basketball tournament. The sleeping arrangements were perfect for the five of us and the remodeled kitchen was very beautiful, spacious and had everything we needed. We also had access to a very pleasant backyard where we relaxed in the sun as we were all gathering for the weekend.
The host and caretakers made us feel very welcomed and even provided us with a nice bottle of wine and coffee.
The location was perfect. We could walk to the MODO Center where the games were played, restaurants, breweries, and the light rail. The house is located in one of the most beautiful Portland neighborhoods where there are many blocks of old, gorgeous homes from the early 1900s. It made for very nice walks in the morning.
We highly recommend the Irvington House and would definitely want to stay here again when we plan another trip to Portland.
We had a great time at Mark's place. The apartment is very cute and comfortable. Note that there is only one shower so it takes a bit of organization to get ready in the morning if you are more than 4 people, but we got warm water for everyone! Great experience, I recommend :)
Thank you very much!
We rented this house while we were in town for our daughter's wedding. It was a perfect location for everything we had to do. Allie gave us great directions and reserved the back patio for us for a pre wedding get together. She also let us store all the reception things in the garage for the big day. The house was comfortable and stocked with everything we needed. All 6 of us stayed comfortably. We would stay here again in a heartbeat. Looking forward to staying again soon!
We were so glad to be able to stay in this house - it was a perfect spot for the two couples in our party. The neighborhood is fantastic and easily walkable for coffee, delicious vegan food and shops. The decor in the home made it feel like a really nice retreat during the weekend. We had to stay in the lower apartment one night until the upper apartment was free and the staff was very accommodating to us. Thanks also for the bottle of wine! Tall people might have a hard time in the upper lofted suite of the upper apartment. As it's cozily in the attic, be careful to watch your head!
