we really enjoy staying in the cliff's house . we stayed only two nights , that was really short but Tate was very nice and helpfull : she sent us to an amazing restaurant closed to her house, the location is really beautiful even if it didn't stop raining when we were there ( normal, it was november) ...
we definetly recommend this place and we hope to come there again in summer ...
We had a lovely stay with Tate at the Cliff house, exploring a bit of the Basque coast we wouldn't normally have visited. The house is beautiful, light, and very clean, tidy and well thought out. There is a lovely little balcony to watch sunsets, a bright breakfast room and coffee, juice and bread to help yourselves from.
The are is a bit more build up and suburban than i had imagined but there are some great views across to the port and great bars and restaurants 15 minutes walk away at the old port.
Everything about our stay here was excellent ... from the beautifully unique home to the nice linens to the warm personality of the host. Highly recommend!
We loved our stay at Tate's house in Getxo. Tate was a lovely host and was very accommodating. We stayed at the Cliff's House to be close to Bilbao and the Guggenheim. There is a metro stop about five minutes walking distance from the house that will drop you directly in Bilbao. We loved our stay at the Cliff's House with Tate and would absolutely recommend it to other travelers!
Beautiful house with a welcoming atmosphere! Breakfast was great and Tate and her boyfriend were very helpful! Highly recommended!
This is a great place to stay. Tate is most welcoming and the house is very interestingly decorated and has great views. It's not the easiest place to find so a detailed map or sat-nav is essential. The attic room where we slept is great as long as one can negotiate the rather tight spiral staircase up to it.
I stayed at Tate's house for a week in September 2013 with a friend. We rented the attic room without other guests staying in the main part of the house.
Normally I find it easy to write reviews of places I've visited, but this one has me at a loss for where to start. The house is great - loads of charm and personality, the kitchen is FUN, I slept like a baby all week with the sound of the waves crashing against the cliffs, the dog is a little bundle of love, the house is a great starting point for driving around the area, the local bars and tapas places are lovely, the area is great for walks and bicycle rides, Tate and her boyfriend are amazing...
That summary was a bit of a mess, but I had such a lovely - and _different_ week, and I will return. By far the nicest airbnb experience I've had both in terms of the house and the people.
We've had a perfect stay and found the rest and peace we were looking for. The house and the location are very nice and beautiful. Close to the metro, close to the beach, beautiful birds to watch,... Tate is a very good host. She's friendly, kind, helpful, fun,... I didn't want to go home and we are looking forward to go back there in spring.
I liked staying here; Tate is sweet. She was nice to talk to and she made sure we felt comfortable. Her house is full of history and memories, and you sense that when you are there. Also, the location is on a pretty hill with a spectacular view.
My wife, two young daughters and I, stayed at the Cliff's House for a month. The location was great. The host and her boyfriend were very nice, and they were both great with our girls. Because we have two young daughters we were not sure how sharing a house was going to work, but Tate was very accommodating, and we were pleasantly surprised.
