A great location in which to explore everything San Francisco and the Bay Area have to offer.
My stay at Joel's place was very nice. I stayed there for approximately 2 months while in SF on business, and it easily felt like a second home. The place is nice, extremely spacious, and in a great central location (close to Hayes Valley, Lower Haight, etc). The apartment had all the amenities for both short or long-term stays, as well as other accommodating details (ie. on-site laundry, storage space, etc.). Traffic along Oak street could be taken into consideration, however it was ultimately a non-issue for me.
Joel (email hidden)! Any/all correspondence was very prompt and timely. My messages were usually replied to immediately, and he is always accessible by phone/text. I feel Joel would've been willing to accommodate any reasonable need/request....which I really didn't have.
This was our first experience with AirBnB and it couldn't have gone smoother. This is largely because of Joel's hospitality. The apartment was clean and in a convenient location. It was certainly loud, but that's the price of city living. Nothing a set of earplugs can't solve if you're not used to that type of noise.
The reservation was canceled 3 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.
Wonderful apartment. Wonderful host. Perfect. We'll be back.
I stayed at the apartment for 7 weeks! Its in a prime location in the city, 5 mins walk to the Muni lines right outside of the Safeway.
The bed is super comfortable and the shower is great, lots of hot and power!
Cant say enough good things about the apartment :)
We stayed at Joel's place in San Fran for about 5 days. Joel was extremely accomodating, he was very prompt to answer emails with answers to my many many questions. The apartment was very clean, spacious and had everything we could ever need. Joel had thought of everything. It's also in a great location with some small pubs and shops located close by and easy access to transit. I would definitely recommend staying here upon your visit to San Fran. Thank you Joel!
This apartment was perfect for a quick weekend trip to SF. It is spacious and clean, and in a great neighborhood. Easy walk to Alamo Square, the Panhandle, or the Haight Street bar/restaurant scene.
Joel was an awesome host. He was very flexible on when to meet us for check in, and answered all of our questions promptly. I would recommend his properties to anyone.
Great apartment - equipped with almost everything you need! (Wireless Internet, paid washing machine + dryer, towels, toilet paper, etc.) and Joel was extremely nice!
The only downside is that it can be a bit noisy - the windows are not really sound-proof, and during the morning it can get annoying (since you're right on the intersection of two not-so-small streets).
Clean & large apartment -- Joel provided extra linens and towels. Washer & dryer available onsite. Nice sized kitchen & bathroom. Good location.
The apartment was large, as promised, and did have a work area, as promised. It's actually a nice little place, but for one (pretty major) problem: Oak Street.
Oak Street is pretty much how one gets from the west side of San Francisco to the east side. It is one of the major thoroughfares, which means that at many times of the day, it's LOUD. Being in the basement, the apartment picks up every thump, shudder, rumble and bang that you hear on the street. Bring earplugs. Also, bring eyeshades, because that's what you're going to need to be able to get any sleep there.
On the positive side, the foam mattress bed was divine to sleep in. The Internet is the best I've used. And, once you find the space heater, things warm up pretty quickly throughout the place.
We arrived fresh from a 30-hour slog from SE Asia with a third travel partner in tow. It appeared as if Joel initially presumed we were trying to pull a fast one on him, even though we said that we were merely exchanging things in our suitcases before our friend continued on to his final destination that evening.
Once we cleared that up, things went pretty well. He was attentive to our needs and helped out where he could. So while we probably wouldn't stay here again (it's just too loud for us to concentrate on working or sleeping unless we plug our ears), we would definitely stay at another (quieter) place hosted by him.
If you can deal with the noise, than this is a cozy little gem in an area where people hideously overvalue their sublets!
