Our block is special--in addition to being the home to two *movie stars,* it is home to many residents who have lived there for 20-40 years. Everyone is friendly and helpful. The excellent shops and restaurants of 5th Avenue, including a huge supermarket, are just steps away, and beautiful Prospect Park is a brief 10-minute walk. More on the neighborhood:
•5-minute walk to more shops and restaurants on 7th Avenue
•5-10 minute walk to Barclays Center -- huge sports events, concerts, etc.
•10-minute walk: Prospect Park, Brooklyn Public Library, Grand Army Plaza
•15-20 minute walk: Brooklyn Botanic Gardens, Prospect Park Zoo & Carousel, Brooklyn Museum
•Nearest playground is 2 blocks away; numerous other playgrounds 5-15 minutes away – throughout the neighborhood and in the park, and it's a short drive to the Brooklyn Children's Museum, a necessary resource for people traveling with kids!
We're a 20-minute subway ride from Manhattan, and a five minute walk to four very useful subway lines: the 2/3 or the B/Q. It's a 10-minute walk to the Atlantic Av/Barclay's station, where you'll find even more subway lines: 2, 3, 4, 5, B, D, N, Q, & R. All in all, this is a central, extremely convenient location for visitors to the city.
There is a family of three below us -- two adults and one toddler. So we're looking for people who will be quiet & clean. No unusual noise, no late-night noise especially. Also we ask that all guests leave their shoes outside the apartment door -- we don't want the dirty streets of New York coming into our living space on the bottoms of shoes. :) No smoking, no pets. In general, we want people who will keep things clean and orderly, and will leave the place in very good condition.
The long view from the living room, down the hall to the main bedroom. The kids' room is just past the couch, to the right.
