cosy romantic in center of rome

Apartment - Entire home/apt · Via Girolamo Dandini, Rome, Lazio 00154, Italy

The Space

Lovely penthouse in Rome ideal for a couple or eventually 3 people ((the sofa opens into a confortable bed), Saint Peter is seen from a small window specifically made on the entrance door. 5 min walk from metro station and train station Ostiense, very close to colosseum, to all ancient Rome's area, and city center.
The house is small and cosy, but an architect managed to make every single corner useful with built-in wardrobe. there is a kitchenette with everything you need to cook, there is a washing machine and the bathroom has a shower.
The best thing to do is relax and enjoy the lovely and confortable terrace after a good walk in rome's center.
I would suggest it because it is like a love nest, small but with all comforts, in a residential area, no traffic, quiet and at the same time so close to everything. Walking distance from the most famous flee market in rome, Portaportese (only opended on sundays) and the famous area called Trastevere. There are many really good (and cheap) restaurants walking distance, and good places to enjoy rome by night.
From the lovely terrace you will have a great view, you see everything and nobody sees you!
we provide: clean bed sheets and towels, soap, washinmachine, fridge, four fire electric burner, sofa that turns into bed, and obviously the italian coffee machine is there!

suggestions:
let me tell you something more, very close to the house there is a chemist, a pub and a very cheap chinese restaurant, just down the road.
another very nice thing to see is "EATALY", 8 mins walk from home, many tourists come just to visit it, my mum (she's english but has lived in rome for 50 years!!) loves it, you go and find all kinds of italian food... amazing, you'll love it.
another thing that me and my husband just found out is that from Osiense you can get a train that takes you to Florence in 1 hour 40!!!! and if you buy it in advance you only pay the ticket 20 euros!! the train is called ITALO, very confortable!!!
enjoy your stay <3

One more thing, just when you're about to leave the train station, there is a supermarket where you can buy anything.

  • Sylvia is amazing!! Great when it came to communication. Her place was clean and spacious with a great terrace! Also, the neighbourhood is very quiet at night. If you LOVE to walk you can get around easily but we took the bus a lot due to our time limit.

    Definitely recommended.

  • Sylvia's apartment was my wife's & my perfectly situated base for three days of exploration. It is a clean, bright , quiet place that gets the morning sun on the terrace looking out on the South side of Rome. It is in a "real neighbour hood" with local shops and cafes and charming welcoming people. It is just a couple of blocks to Rome's second largest train station with fast cheap access to da Vinci. It is only four blocks to the subway & easy access to all of Rome.
Sylvia has equipped the place well with modern appliances. We enjoyed staying there and would happily stay there again.

  • Excellent spot, calme à deux pas du centre de Rome. Terrasse magnifique, accueil excellent!

  • First of all: Greatest place to stay for a trip to Rome!
The flat situated close to Ostiense train station (5-8 min walk) makes it ideal for city travellers. You can reach all the important (touristically) paces in Rome via public transport from there, it is really cosy, clean and inviting. Not least the super dooper penthouse advantage, that offers you breakfast going along with a dream view over the south of Rome - priceless!!!
And the best of all -the host! She was very nice, informed us more than sufficiantly before the trip to Rome, gave us a very warm welcome and was available for any form of support. GREAT!!!

  • Perfect for couples or small groups of young travellers! We were three persons, my mother and father and me. We had a wonderfull stay at the place, nevertheless the place is not centric to the touristic places. However, you can catch the metro from Pyramide to Termini and from there go anywhere else. The passage is 1,50 € per person.

    About the room:

You have 10 GB internet. Fast connection.
    Great view from the terrasse.
    Clean room and comfortable beds.
Near buying options (something similar to Carrefour / Lidl).

So, pack up, fetch a good wine and have a romantic time with that special one!

  • The apartment is very close to the train station and metro, but everything is in walking distance, so the location is really good.
Silvia is very good host, she give us a bottle wine for welcome, she was very kind and was flexible with the check-out time. The terrace is fantastic, nice view, nice atmosphere. Eataly is absolutely fantastic market place, we bought a lot of ingredients (mozzarella, tomato, parma ham, fresh vegetables, fruits, vine, fresh pasta, etc) and made dinner and breakfast. There is everything in the apartment, what is need for cooking.
Silvia left some maps, umbrella and raincoat for us, these were very usefull in the rainy days.

So everything is ok with this lovely flat, highly recommended for young couples. We will be going back to Silvia's flat, when we visit Rome next time.

  • Very nice apartment really close to everything in Rome...
    If you don't like walking there's a metro 3 mins away :)
The apartment had an awesome balcony with a wonderful view!!
The space is enough for 4 people and is very recommended to start your trip in Rome!
Although we didn't meet Silvia, ): , in person she left us the keys and notes to explain everything in the apartment.. we easily stayed in touch and she was highly available!!!
    Thanks for everything!!!!!!

  • Our stay at Silvia's place was awesome! The spacious flat was very enjoyable to stay. I loved the fact that the location is a little distant from the tourist spots, and placed at a more resident-like environment. My mother and sister found it more safe to stay. Although we couldn't meet Silvia in person, it was easy to find out how wonderful a person she is through the kind notes she left us about using the flat. Water pressure is a little low, but I found that to be fairly normal around Italy in general. The terrace has a wonderful view at dawn and sunset. I would definitely book here if I ever visit Rome again!

  • The apartment felt quite spacious and comfortable for my two adult sons and me, and it was well appointed with thoughtful added touches like an umbrella and raincoat, maps, notes on how things work, plenty of cookware and dishes, even slippers and extra bedding. Everything was spotless. It's a in a quiet building on a quiet street only a few minutes walk to the Piramide/Ostiense station, so very convenient at the same time. Silvia was caring and responsive the whole time, replying immediately to any questions that I had. Couldn't have asked for a better host or a more ideal accommodation! Thank you Silvia!
P.S. the elevator goes to the 4th floor. From there the apartment is only accessible by stairwell to the 5th floor, important to know if you have trouble with stairs.

  • I had a great stay in Silvia's apartment. Although we couldn't meet in person, she left us informative post-it notes :) Everything was great, we find the keys, internet, hot-water working perfectly. The apartment is warm, clean, and fully furnitured (with great radio system, and also umbrellas and maps of Rome), really cosy! I went to EATALY on Silvia's recommendation (impressive), bought some materials, and made a simple meal in the apartment with wine.
The flat was not as near as i thought from the metro station, and the walk to the flat was a little bit uphill, but it was definitely worth the climb!
