The cabin was in such a beautiful area of the gorge and had all the comforts that we needed. Every question that we had was answered in one of the most comprehensive House Manuals I have ever seen - it was great! The bed was comfortable, the view of the river was wonderful, the house was easily heated by the fantastic little wood burning stove. Thanks so much Max and Sam!
What a great spot! We had a wonderful time hanging out with the dog by the river, going for hikes in the Gorge and poking around Stevenson. The hosts were very gracious and they accommodated our slight change to the schedule very easily. We will be back!
Sam and Max were available any time I needed them. The house was better than the pictures could show. The outside space was absolutely charming and I spent each morning of my week on their beach with my dog drinking coffee and throwing sticks. The street was quiet and the bed was comfy, I felt comfortable there during the day and night. I had to attend a conference during the days but I'd love to return for an official vacation and utilize the proximity to hiking trails and the firepit. They had everything I needed at the house and I'd recommend staying whether you're looking to hunker down and escape or use it as a home base to explore the gorge. I was very happy with my stay.
Our getaway to the riverside cabin was even better than we expected and I had pretty high expectations to begin with! During our getaway, the weather dipped to the 20's and the wood burning fireplace and multiple cozy spots to linger in the cabin kept us warm and happy. The view of the river from the cabin was outstanding. I could have happily sat and watched the river flow by for an entire day…with a break here and there to make waffles (!).
The area has so much to offer. We took two great day hikes, visited the interpretive center, hung out at Walking Man brewery and explored the grounds of the Skamania Lodge. The cabin was well appointed for cooking which really helped with keeping costs down, and did I mention there is a waffle maker?
Max and Sam were really kind and responsive. We were given grace both at check-in and check-out times. You can tell they love this space with thoughtful and beautiful touches all over the place. We planned to have a game night with friends one evening which the weather ended up ruining but Max and Sam were really supportive of the idea for gathering friends here.
If you love both the natural beauty of nature and enjoy hiking while having a clean, well appointed and cozy nest to return home to, don't hesitate to stay here. We would love to come back over the summer and float around in the river.
My boyfriend, dogs and I had a wonderful stay at the cabin over Christmas! It was inviting and cozy and the kitchen had all the tools we needed to make ourselves a nice holiday dinner. We loved relaxing by the wood burning stove and sitting on the deck listening to the creek. Great vacation in the Gorge, I would definitely recommend this place!
Beautiful, private space with everything as shown in the photos and as described. Mornings and evenings on the deck were wonderful and the nice grill made pulling together a meal a breeze. The view on the deck is so lush that I just wanted to stay out there.
We got in the water with the dogs and headed to the first small pool deep enough to throw the water toy for them. It was a lot of fun. I worried about my one wandering dog that wanted to head toward the nearby little waterfall. He's older and doesn't need a harsh dunk so he had to wear a life vest just in case. I wish I had brought my water shoes to make traversing the rocks easier but it was fine without them too.
We didn't use the upstairs at all but it seemed like a very nice space also. We walked to downtown Stevenson and found the Walking Man Brewpub was dog friendly so we tried some beer in their nice courtyard. There are a lot of hiking trails nearby and we ended up going to Lower Falls Creek north of Carson - gorgeous hike!
For a group, renting the airbnb place next door with the same owners would make a great option.
I almost rented that property instead but really wanted direct creek access on this trip.
That property is so beautiful though that I could easily see a small wedding on the lawn with the sounds of the waterfall below.
The cabin was a wonderful getaway and it is clear the hosts really want guests to enjoy their stay.
The cabin was clean and all was working perfectly.
The location is really awesome : The cabin is really on the river and it's really beautiful.
You can walk in the river and read a book a rock, listening to the nature's sound. Simple pleasures for great vacations.
