A very private studio apartment in Kinsale with its own entrance, patio and parking area. It is attached to the owners house, but completely separate, in a peaceful location in a large, quiet garden with no traffic noise.
An easy walk to Kinsale town centre with all its cafes and restaurants (10-12 minutes). There is wireless broadband and satellite multichannel TV.
Kinsale is a small, historic town on the south coast of Ireland, lively and well known for its restaurants, sailing, golf and angling.
We are just twenty minutes drive from Cork airport and thirty minutes from the ferry port.
The studio is an ideal base for a holiday in Kinsale with its angling, sailing and golf, or just to relax. Convenient for day trips to West Cork and Kerry.
Comfortable self catering with well equipped kitchen area and a very good shower.
The studio is available for a long winter let at reasonable rent.
Cork airport is 20 minutes by car and there are daily flights with Ryanair, Aer Lingus and others.
Popular surfing and Blue Flag swimming beaches are only 10 minutes away (with very good bass angling). Whale and dolphin watching trips run every evening in the summer. Several charter angling boats operate from Kinsale and there is seasonal salmon fishing on the River Bandon. There are three local golf courses and many more in south and west cork. Sailing, angling, wind surfing, kayaking, riding and rock climbing can all be organised: or just relax with art, pottery or yoga lessons. Not far away to the west are the beautiful coastline and mountains of West Cork and Kerry. Our studio accommodation is an ideal base for a self catered holiday in West Cork - quiet and private, but convenient for everything you need.
My wife and I had a wonderful stay at this cosy accommodation in a lovely, quiet location. From the moment we arrived we were made to feel at home by Helen who left us to settle in and was next door if we ever needed anything.
The apartment is very spacious with 2 single beds and a double futon. The kitchen is well equipped and the bathroom has a great shower. Freesat TV was an added bonus. The garden is really nice and well maintained.
The area is very peaceful and only a 10 minute walk into town. The beds were comfortable and we slept very well.
All in all a very good place to stay and we would definitely stay there again if we return to beautiful Kinsale.
Very clean and comfortable with all you'd need for a break away. Ten minutes outside the village of Kinsale with only a short walk into town and plenty of taxi's if you're stuck. The host Helen was very helpful with lots of information and leaflets left on things to do and places to eat. The apartment itself is very spacious and has all your basic needs. Its attached to the house but you have your own side entrance and patio and are left to your own de vicious. We took the Kinsale harbour cruise on a sunny day and it was very enjoyable, at 12.50 for a adult its well worth it. There are lots of reasonably priced restaurants and cafes to go to. I would also recommend a lovely ice-cream shop on the corner opposite the White House Bar.
A lovely apartment in a beautiful setting with an excellent host!
Excellent studio apartment just 10-15 mins walk from busy bustling Kinsale. The apartment is in the attic to the side of Helen`s house.Very quite and with it`s own entrance and private patio overlooking the wonderful wild and colourful garden. This is the perfect place for a couple looking for a relaxing break.
Helen's studio is a great place, much bigger than it looked in the photos we saw, with an excellent location 10 minutes' walk from the beautiful seaside town of Kinsale. It's perfect for a couple who want their own space and even has a secluded patio with two chairs that catches the sun most of the day in summer.
Helen was a stellar host, leaving us some breakfast supplies on arrival, as well as plenty of on-the-mark restaurant recommendations and walking routes. Kinsale has many places to eat, mostly specialising in fish but with other tastes catered for too.
Helen lives in the adjoining house. She left us undisturbed but made herself available throughout our stay, although we didn't need to call on her. Guests might see the odd language student coming and going as she runs a classroom in the house, directly below the studio.
As the property is up a steep hill from the centre of Kinsale, it might not be ideal for those with difficulty walking, but it's still in very easy reach for most and there's a huge driveway for parking a car. It also seems a very safe area.
Really, the only thing we'd have preferred would have been if the two twin beds were a double. We had the option to pull out the sofa bed, but it didn't look quite as comfortable. This didn't detract from a very peaceful three-night stay, though. If we were in Co. Cork again we would certainly want to stay at Helen's, and would also recommend it highly to friends.
