Interaction with Guests
We have a café on ground floor called Alley No.5 that operates 10am to 5pm daily except Sunday 10am to 3pm. You are always welcome to hang out at our café for a drink after a tiring day exploring Malacca. If you need any assistance do drop by, we are always here for you.
If you are a coffee lover, prepare to wake up with the smell of fresh ground coffee from our cafe.
Bridge Street is the only pedestrian street in the old town area ending with a bridge across Malacca River. This place used to be a bustling with commercial activities going on days and nights. Today, most of these activities have ceased to exist, leaving behind a quiet neighbourhood. Nevertheless, you can still find some traditional businesses in the area such as hardware shop, goldsmith, rubber stamp manufacturer as well as key smith.
Most of the town’s tourist attractions and famous Jonker Street Night Market are just 5-10 minutes walking distance away from my place. If you are a food lover, don’t miss out all the local eateries around the neighbourhood as Malacca is also famous for its local food too.
Pets are not allowed.
Smoking is strictly prohibited in the house.
Yalu was great - a perfect host right from the start. He made sure we got the right coach to Melaka, made us feel welcome when we arrived, sat down with us and discussed what we wanted to see and how to see it, marking everything on a map he provided. (Yalu grew up in Melaka - in the coffee shop itself - and knows everything about the area). He even ordered us a taxi to take us back to the station after our visit.
Yalu's duplex is authentic and spotless - he pays great attention to detail. The beds are comfy and the sheets immaculate.
His duplex is in a great location - less than 5 minutes walk to Merdeka Square and most of the tourist spots. The duplex is situated in a quiet street just a minute from the start of your adventure.
I would thoroughly recommend a stay in Yalu's duplex. Melaka is an amazing experience and worthy of several day's visit.
Yalu is a very helpful host and the place was exactly as per advertised. Though me and my friends stayed for only 1 night, we'll definitely consider Yalu's place when we visit again.
A little walking takes you to most of the popular spots in Melaka.
Yalu and his brother just makes our stays very memorable. I have been all over the world on many airbnb but Yalu's is great.
Yalu is a really great host! Not only was he prompt to confirm our booking, he followed up with us very thoroughly since we were driving in, offering us guidance and tips on where to go and such. Yalu and his brother owns the cafe below our accommodation and we got to have the cafe to ourselves during the night. Great dinner place for us to have our street food takeaways, avoiding the sweltering heat and crowd. The loft was situated at a small alley 5 min walk away from jonker street which was ideal, really felt like we had the whole place and alley to ourselves. :) The stay was cosy, bed sheets, toilet were super clean, had bottled water & tv set. Will surely come back again! oh and could tell my friends enjoyed chatting with Yalu and his brother, exchanging talks about coffee making and just guy chat in general haha. Gotta check out Yalu's lofts if you're in Malacca! :)
Yalu was friendly and very nice. He recommended us places that locals go to and offered to walk us there when he was free. The apartment was clean and comfy with a vintage rustic feel. We had the whole cafe to ourselves after they closed which was nice as we can relax and chill privately. However, it was a little noisy especially after you used the toilet as the water tank was inside the room. You could also hear footsteps easily from upstairs if you're on the second floor. The apartment was near Jonker Street and many other food places so it was pretty convenient. It is also located in a quiet street. Overall it was a good stay.
