Welcome to my gorgeous french style cottage with lake views and front deck....
Situated in a great area of central Taupo, just a short walk to the lake front and 15 minutes walk to the town centre, this French Style Cottage is the perfect place to stay for your next getaway.
The cottage consists of 2 bedrooms (one with double bed, one with single) and there is also a sofa bed in the living room if required.
High quality linen is used on the beds and towels are provided. Eco friendly cleaning products are also used.
If you are arriving by car, there is ample off street parking available.
The cottage is situated in a quiet residential street but close enough to everything that is required. The closest large supermarket is a 20 minute walk, there is a smaller superette, fabulous cafe, fruit and veg shop, and butcher a mere 10 minutes walk away.
Taupo is an incredible place to explore - kayaking, boating, the mountains, cafes. restaurants, the lake and surrounding rivers, amazing bush walks and mountain bike tracks. It is also the most beautiful place just to chill and absorb the incredible surroundings.
As a host I can leave you to be completely independent or help you with what you require be it a massage therapist, a private yoga class, organic healthy food, or just recommendations as to what there is available in our beautiful town.
Quiet, simple, relaxing, healing, and gentle on the soul, the cottage has a beautiful energy. I look forward to meeting you soon.
No smoking, and no pets.
Cottage is better suited to 2 or 3 people, it offers 1 Queen size bed (bedroom 1), one single bed (bedroom 2), and 1 double sofa bed (living room), so can accomodate 5 people but it is tight!
Jo's place was the perfect New Zealand get-away. Within walking distance to the lake the cottage was clean, bright, cheerful and (website hidden) was there to greet us when we arrived. She was hospitable, friendly and made us feel right at home!
Jo's place is beautiful wee cottage perched on a hill with lovely views of the lake and easy access to the town. The cottage was spacious and warm and well kept, exactly as (website hidden) and Rachel made us feel very welcome, with nice touches such as bread, butter, jam and milk in the fridge when we arrived so breakfast was taken care of for our first morning in town, which was handy as we arrived very late the previous evening! And even with the late arrival, the host was still happy to meet us and show us through the place!
The neighbourhood was nice and quiet. An added bonus was on the Saturday one of the neighbours opened up their garage and has a store selling an interesting range of retro furniture and art and maps and vintage Foxton soda, plus I got a free slice of cake from the shop owner. Great trip.
Lovely stay in pretty cottage. Fantastic lake views and very clean comfortable house. The pictures don't do justice to the great (website hidden) was helpful and very accommodating , particularly as we were travelling with an 8 month old.
Jo left keys for us to let ourselves in. She had very kindly left bread butter jam milk and the like which was most welcome.
The property was everything we hoped it would be and is a charming and characterful place to stay. It is a most beautiful place to be. We walked a great deal but generally used the car for trips into the town where there are excellent restaurants, shops etc.
Had a great stay at Jo's French cottage. Property is immaculately presented and has everything you need for a few nights (website hidden) was kind enough to get us a few groceries to get us started, as well as leaving some of her delicious homemade jam. Although a couple of km from the town centre it was nice to be out of it and certainly better than a motel. Thanks Jo for a great stay and if we are lucky enough to returnto New Zealand we will hopefully get to stay here again.
Jo was incredibly welcoming and her beautiful nature is reflected in everything about this place. I just loved the house, the decor, the view! There didn't seem to be anything that Jo hadn't thought to provide, even the hair straightener. I'd love to stay again.
Hi, I live in Taupo and enjoy the amazing outdoors that we have on our doorstep here. I work as a Nutritionist and a Photographer so am interested in health and wellbeing and looking after our planet and capturing the the beauty of our surroundings. I enjoy all things french, love France, and speak french. I can't live without my family, my close friends, good coffee, my camera, time by the ocean, books, healthy home grown veges and organic food, and laughter. I really like to live by the motto that I have borrowed from Ellen Degeneres "be kind to one another."
