Chico has a great Farmers Market every Saturday morning and also on Thursday evening through the summer. The vendors offer local produce which is amazing. There are also several flower vendors that sell some gorgeous bouquets. A smaller market sets up on Wednesday mornings in the summer near Trader Joes. Happy to give suggestions for activities.

Other Things to Note
Most of the guests have noted that the cottage/house is larger than it appears in the photos. All the rooms are spacious. Approximately 1150 square feet in size.
Please no smoking in the dwelling. Outside on porch is OK. A well behaved pet is fine but there is no fenced area. Miller Avenue is quiet to walk your pet on a leash and the park is nearby. The campus on weekends is a great place to walk either with your pet or just enjoy the rose garden, sculptures and the creek that flows through the campus.
This is a jewel of an airbnb. Like being in the country, but it's within 5 minutes of downtown Chico. Really quiet place. Much bigger than most airbnb's I've stayed in. Great!
This beautiful cottage, along with Phyllis & John, made us feel right at home. Fresh flowers, fluffy linens, a hawks nest right outside our door, all this on a quiet street close to town, who could ask for anything more? Not us! We came to spend the weekend and visit our daughter at CSU. Phyllis made sure to have extra linens out for our daughter's sleepover and both she & John had great recommendations for the area. This is definitely our new go-to place when visiting Chico!
I can't say enough about my stay with John and Phyllis. The cottage is exactly as pictured and is very comfortable and clean. The instructions were very clear on how to work everything down to the Cable/DVD player. Phyllis made it very easy for me to check in and out as my schedule changed a bit and wasn't exactly how I had originally planned. I will be back for sure!
Not sure why there was a problem with the WiFi. I think it had to be the storm as our neighbor said they had to have the Comcast people out. Glad the cable worked well which is thru Comcast but so is the WiFi. Seems to be in order now. Glad that your stay was good.
Phyllis and John are ideal airbnb hosts as evidenced by the many great reviews. We spent 2 nights/3 days at the cottage and it exceeded our expectations. It's comfortable, quiet, safe and suited our little dog Twig perfectly as well!
We appreciated having coffee ready to brew in the morning as well as fruit and yogurt.
Phyllis' floral handiwork was evident through the house, too.
Very nice space and we're so happy we stayed there!
John and Phyllis were great hosts. They greeted us with lots of recommendations for how to enjoy the area. The home was just as they described - very comfortable and well appointed. We would happily return!
This was our first Airbnb rental, and it was great. The hosts were out of town for the first part of our visit, but checked in by phone to make sure everything was okay. The house was very nicely set up for us to stay there. Good attention to detail on things that a guest might need. A few nice touches, like fruit & yogurt, to make us feel welcome. Geat location, almost rural, but close to downtown. No real complaints. Would definitely stay there again.
We had a great stay here. Very convenient setting for our visit to Chico. John and Phyllis were communicative from the start and both the check in and check out were very easy. Had fruit and yogurt there for us both days. They were accommodative with some changes in our plans and having to bring our two young kids. Comfortable setting and furnishings. Private but easy to find. We would definitely stay here again.
Self employed painter who loves life in Chico and being outdoors. Loves camping, good food and wine and people and dogs. Travels to foreign countries and within the United States. Enjoys reading and being with people. Came to Chico for college and never left!
We both like to garden (Phyllis most of all). I enjoy cooking in the winter, in summer there is so much to do in the garden and I want to be outdoors when I can. Love a good movie and a good book. Absolutely love animals, all kinds.
