I wanted to show my visiting friend what living in SLO could be like, since my home was under construction and made me dizzy.
I thought AirBnb would be a better fit verses staying at the usual Marriott Hotel or Dolphin Bay. I immediately said lets book with Rosh! She was prompt and to the point. My favorite!
Rosh was a lovely host. Her space was acceptable, quiet and cozy. It's close enough to down town if you like to take a stroll. I used to live a block away from her house, which brought back fond memories. You might enjoy taking a walk across the Jennifer street bridge which has a nice view of the town and surrounding area. If you're up for a quick hike you can walk around the block to a trail that offers a great view of the entire SLO community (a lovely place to picnic). This place is not really for those who are planning a night out on the town. Although, she was bubbly and kind enough to meet us up downtown at our favorite restaurant (NOVO) and enjoyed a glass of champagne with us:) She seemed very interesting dressed in character for her 5 min. theater spotlight, at the Little Theater's after hours NO SHAME! An open stage for actors who want to share their own work. Probably a hit and miss...however what isn't these days?!
Our last day together in the area, we decided to drive to the coast and explore the beautiful rolling hills and ocean landscapes that surround SLO. So many fun and fancy places to enjoy food and quality wines. There's something for everyone in the area. Lots of unique shops and hide away spots. You'll never get boarded, since everyone is so friendly and most likely in the same mood as you. Oddly that is why I really thought fondly of her. The house had hanging prayer flags and unique furniture. Truly an interesting and lovable lady.
She never disturbed us with annoying texts. Provided two keys, even though we only needed one. The front door lock was a little funny to open, but once you learn the trick its easy. There was plenty of towels and fresh water. Although we were a little surprised she was still awake and finicky about our later than planned arrival the first night. With the grain of salt, we smiled. All in all. I enjoyed my experience with her. Fortunately everything was absolutely as perfect as we needed it to be.
Rosh is quiet, friendly, and conscientious. She's a person with many interests and talents, who keeps her older craftsman-style home clean and comfortable. It's in a quiet neighborhood (surprisingly--since it's close to French hospital and train station), away from student population, but 10 minutes walking distance to downtown restaurants and coffee shops. I stayed for a month when my daughter had a baby and I needed a room to rent close to her home. I had a full private bathroom, plenty of closet and shelf space, and a comfortable bed at a very reasonable rate. I usually ate out but had access to her kitchen whenever I needed. I slept well every night, enjoyed neighborhood walks and easy access to my daughter's home near downtown. The reason I chose Rosh's place is she is one of the few who allows pets. I was very grateful that our mini-Aussie shepherd was welcome when my husband joined me for part of the trip. He also enjoyed the accommodations.
I had a lovely 2 night stay at Rosh's home in SLO. The bedroom and private bathroom were great and Rosh was a gracious host. She offered fruits, yogurt, juice and coffee in the morning, which I wasn't even expecting! The house is located close to town and there is ample street parking. This was my first airbnb experience and it was great!
Nice comfortable room in a very good location, about a 10-minute walk from downtown. Breakfast was a little light.
Rosh was a fantastic host, and provided some great insight into local wineries and events. Rosh's house was beautifully presented, and she went to great lengths to make sure we felt comfortable. We hope to stay again soon!
Great say with Rosh - lovely home, great area, and one couldn't ask for a better host!
Had a lovely time visiting my daughter at cal poly and staying at this clean and well located home.
Rosh is very friendly, accomodating and helpful with information about the area. I'll be back.
Rosh was a delight to stay with. She was extremely friendly and graciously took us in for 2 nights at the last minute when our original plans fell thru. The house was an adorable craftsman within walking distance to town. We a private bath and she even had coffee , juice, and cereal available for us in the morning. She was knowledgeable about the area and gave us great tips on what to do during our stay. We will definately stay with her when we return!
What a fantastic place to stay in SLO. The house itself is really interesting and the room, with ensuite is lovely. Best of all is the very comfy sofa on the porch, ideal for tea or wine drinking. Rosh is an excellent host. She was very welcoming, interesting, friendly and made us feel at home. It was a shame we did not have longer with her as she was very busy over the weekend.
We loved both SLO and our accommodations. Rosh has in depth knowlege of the are which enhanced our stay. You can go out the front door and walk to town in 10 minutes; go out the back door and hike up the adjacent hill for exercise or the view; sit on the front porch and simply relax. We had a great stay.
