The space

1:15hr from Auckland International Airport. Private location that is not open to the public.

The entire side of the house opens to the sun. The house is heated by 2 logwood fireplaces. Warm in winter and cool in summer. All Miele appliances.

4 luxurious queen beds in 4 bedrooms (2 huge master rooms with ensuite/walk-in wardrobe at either end of the house). All rooms with separate entrances from the patios.

We have a peaceful outlook from every single window and room. Internally, top-end fittings and appliances, polished wooden floors and vaulted ceilings.

Guest access

Laundry, full kitchen, induction cooktop, coffee machine and 50in TV.

We provide all Linen, Bicycle, Golf clubs (1 mens 1 ladies), Baby Stroller, Boogie board, Tennis racquets and a Barbeque.

You have the place all to yourself . You are free to roam on any walking trails on the farm .

Interaction with guests

We will meet you personally to ensure your stay is completely easy. We can stock the refrigerator on your behalf or we can show you to the local grocer/butcher/supermarket.

You can go at full pace with the activities or just experience life in a slow way. Our music is the birds, the waves and the wind in the trees. Our daily rituals are changed...we eat when we're hungry and take our watch off....there's no fixed structure to the day

Other things to note

In the morning, the light starts from behind the Hen and Chicks islands and the valleys around you slowly unfold. In the evenings, the sky glows brilliant pink.

As you walk the cliffs, look down at the ocean, from the cliffs you can see dolphins and schools of fish. Nowhere in the world not even in the Caribbean, France or the Greek Islands will you find water this sparkling, this crystal or this turquoise...

At night you see the milky way. You can hear kiwi in the bush and see glow-worms in the grottos.

This home is in such a fabulous location. Breathtaking is the most appropriate word, I think. It is remote so keep in mind that getting places will take you some time. Regardless of that there really is no need to leave the farm unless you really want to. Lol! We had a family of 6 and there was more than enough room for everyone to spread out. Definitely a chill kinda place. The horses are very friendly and fun to give snacks too. And the Alpacas are a hoot!! The cliff walk is a must. We came in the winter so the weather was less than desirable for us BUT we have fun and it was beautiful regardless. We would totally stay again. Only this time in the summer.

Staying at the Te Wai Tiaho was a enjoyable pleasurable experience. A lifetime of happy memories with our family that will be cherished. It really felt like a home away from home. The house and it's farmland surroundings were breath taking the beach bush walks sunrises were truly heavenly. We definitely will be returning in the future.

Where do I even begin? Luisa's home is truly heaven on earth! Our family spent 5 nights in Mangawhai and I wish it had been 5 weeks. The home is in a private farm enclave with direct access to a beautiful beach, nature walks, and farm animals a plenty. Each day we woke to the sound of sheep and sweeping views across the rolling hills. Our days consisted of kids feeding the pigs and horses, surfing Mangawhai heads, buying fruits and veggies from a local grower, wine tasting at Te Whai Bay vineyard, and eating the incredible delicacies at Bennett's Chocolate Shop and Cafe. This area of New Zealand has it all! You really need not look any further if considering a trip to Mangawhai, this place is one of a kind!

Gorgeous home in a breathtaking location. Excellent location for accessing natural beach and heading into town for a lovely meal.

The place is really spacious and the fittings are modern. Children loved it, and we enjoyed sitting in the covered patio. There was a master suite and junior suite, with two additional bedrooms. The main bedrooms had attached bathrooms while the additional rooms shared a common bath. There is a nice beach about 10 min drive up the road, and plenty of local walks. There is a small village nearby, but for grocery shopping it is better to go to a bigger town. Driving in from the highway takes some time, and try to arrive while the sun is up otherwise it will be hard to locate the place. Communication with the owners was direct and very helpful. If we are in the area in the future, we would love to stay again.

Luisa's home is stunning. It's so private and peaceful with amazing views of the farm. We had two little kids and they loved being able to roam around in the garden and trying to catch the lambs. They found the alpacas hilarious too. Everything in the home is beautiful, especially the beds! It's a 1km walk to the beach which was amazing. We weren't expecting the views across to Taranga island. There was plenty of sand to play on or rock pools and shell collecting. We explored the farm and if you like views from the top of hills this is the place for you! Chin (Luisa's dad) showed us around and made us feel very welcome and even brought some things for the girls to play with at the beach. We would have liked a few more days for more exploring but now we'll have to come back!
