RUGBY WORLD CUP 2015 - within walking distance of the
Olympic Stadium which will be the venue for 5 of the matches including the Bronze medal play-off.
Nearest tube is Upton Park on the District Line. A walk or about 5 or 6 minutes.
Good transport links to Central London and all London Airports, especially City Airport.
It is an easy journey to connect with Eurostar to Paris and Brussels.
There are two night buses which stop 10-15 minutes walk away.
A few minutes away from a lively, genuinely multicultural shopping area.
An abundance of restaurants providing the best of North and South Indian food and many others from Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Afghanistan and Iran and more.
A short bus-ride, or 35 min walk from Westfield Stratford City, Europe's largest shopping centre.
West Ham Park is 10mins away, with landscaped gardens, football and cricket pitches and plenty of space to run.
There are longer walks in Epping Forest within easy reach by tube.
Especially rewarding are the walks along the nearby Greenway and the canal tow-paths from where you can see unexpected glimpses of architecture and wild life and see how work on the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park is progressing. These also make good cycling routes.
Lovely yoga room for those who would like to practise yoga or meditation.
In good weather the garden is lovely to sit in.
When enquiring about the room, please add a few words about yourself and why you are coming to London.
It is best to enquire and WAIT FOR MY REPLY before booking. That way we can both avoid disappointments.
Although I put that check-in is flexible, do let me know when you enquire if you likely to arrive at unsocial or unusual times. I will do my best to accommodate your itinerary, but please understand this is my home, and I work both at home and in various other location
Help yourself to teas and coffee in the kitchen at any time.
There is space to store food in the fridge, freezer and cupboard so you can cook their own food if you wish.
Please do not cook meat in the house.
There are plenty of books in the sitting room and on the landing, and boxes of leaflets of things to do, places to go, in and around London both in your room and in the kitchen. Large scale A-Z maps for your reference can help you plan your visit.
You are welcome to use the Yoga room for your own practice, and if there is space you would be welcome to join a class - details on request.
In the summer the garden is great to sit in - there's a seat at the end, and rugs for the grass area.
Interaction with Guests
I live and work in the house, so generally I am available to answer any questions and give advice about transport, venues, etc. as required.
The kitchen has a good table for sitting at and chatting. It can be used for study, too, when not being used for food.
At other times I'll be busy or out of the house. so guests have the place to themselves.
Sometimes it's nice to share food, and who can resist a slice of bread still warm from the oven?
Truly multi-ethnic with tolerance and respect between different races and religions. A wealth of sights, smells and tastes every time you leave the house and yet very often the loudest sound is that of birds singing. It is easy to get into central London, but my favourite round trip is much closer - a canal walk, cake and coffee overlooking the Olympic Stadium, walk along the Greenway, drop down into the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park and stroll around the Wetlands, then up into Westfield for some retail therapy or a film.
Easy links with the District Line, the Hammersmith and City Line, the Central Line and the Jubilee Line.
There are two Overground routes within easy reach, a third only a few stops away.
Connection to the various DLR routes is likewise very straightforward.
Many buses are within a few minutes from the house going in many different directions, including to Canning Town and Stratford where connections to Central London can be picked up.
Other Things to Note
The rail lines and stations in London are constantly being worked on. This means that sometimes one or more routes is unavailable at the weekends. I will do my best to let you know if you are likely to be affected during the dates you wish to book, but you might like to check yourself as well.
No shoes upstairs, thank you. Slippers provided.
No shoes in the yoga room.
The house runs on consideration for others - for instance -
Please respect that this is a vegetarian household and dispose of any fish products as soon as possible by wrapping them and placing in the outside bin.
Please do not cook meat in the house.
Do your washing up as soon as possible after meals.
Be considerate of others in the house when using the bath or shower (if several people need to use it at about the same time then that is not the best time to have long bath)
Noise - Please limit long (website hidden) or phone calls at night, and if watching a film at night use earphones.
Do not download more data than is strictly necessary as it blocks the internet access for others.
Do use the downstairs rooms for working in, but meals have priority on the kitchen table, and conversation and TV programmes have priority in the sitting room.
There are separate containers for disposing of paper, plastic bags, glass etc. All uncooked vegetable waste gets composted. Please do your bit for the environment and recycle as much as you can.
When there is a yoga class taking place in the house, please keep noise to a minimum. Thank you.
This was my third stay with lovely Cryn. Right after I book a ticket to London I check the available at Cryn’s house. I feel like Cryn’s house is also my home in my favorite city in the whole world.
Cryn has the best recommendations for the city and at home there a lot of books and information that give insights to see and do in that lovely city.
House is just several minutes to Upton Park underground station in which the District, Hammersmith and City lines trains stop. These trains will take you to many great offers of London City.
Cryn’s house is always clean, and she kindly provides towels for personal use and toiletries in the bathroom. There are all kind of cooking equipment, a shelf in the refrigerator for your own goods. She even provides muesli, toast, tea and coffee for the breakfast.
If there is availability on Cryn’s house that means you are lucky, go ahead and make the booking; meet with lovely Cryn and definitely take her recommendations about London!
Cryn is a very friendly host. There was great contact between her and myself on the run up to my stay. I was given all the necessary information to make my arrival and visit most comfortable. Her property is as described, a very calm space providing a little sanctuary in the East end of London. I arrived very early after travelling on the night bus from Glasgow and was made most welcome. Cryn even took me through a relaxing yoga technique which recharged my batteries, a welcome unexpected extra.
I would highly recommend Cryn as a host and would most definitely stay here if and when I am back in London. Thank you :)
Cryn's house is a lovely, peaceful refuge in the city, away from the hubbub but still close enough to get around London. Everything was neat and clean as well, with all the amenities one could want, including towels, soaps, teas, coffee, breakfast items, and even access to a yoga room.
As for my host, she was absolutely wonderful and accommodating, even offering me a ride early in the morning to catch my flight. I stayed only one night but I would have easily stayed longer. If I am ever in London again, I will certainly seek out Cryn's AirBnB.
Overall, I highly recommend, and urge those future dwellers to take advantage of the great Indian food in the neighborhood too.
My best experience with Airbnb. The place to go if you want more than just a bed. Cryn is a very generous and interesting person who is always available for you. I immediately felt comfortable at her place. She provides a wide range of healthy, mainly organic, food, home-made bread and jams for breakfast. She also gives precious tips about places to visit, transportation as well as current events. Above of all, she taught me some yoga exercises for my knees. Thank you so much Cryn for the fantastic time !
Cryn was a kind and friendly host. She made me feel very welcome and I enjoyed my stay in her house. Everything was as described and I'd certainly recommend anyone to stay there. Thanks for your hospitality.
Staying at Cryn's was an absolute pleasure! Cryn is so welcoming and her home is comfortable and peaceful, I had such a restful night, I only wish I could have stayed longer! Thank you Cryn

About the Host, Cryn
My time is divided between Yoga, gardening and occasionally making theatrical costumes and other clothes. Trips to the countryside and abroad and visits to an extensive family keep me busy too.
Sharing my house and garden with visitors to London is a great pleasure.
