We offer private Yoga Instruction, if you wish, I am a Yoga Works Certified teacher and have a private studio on the property. We love to share our mountain bikes for touring around the neighborhood, or for Mountain biking in the local trails around Avila, Pismo, or san Luis.
There are dozens of fabulous hikes in our area. Great for all ages, and levels.

This is a private area, gorgeous for relaxing by the pool and reading a good book.
The wineries are as close as 2 miles away, and all around the area, Santa Ynez, Paso Robles, as well.

Our home has been featured in Central Coast magazine, as well as A full featured movie back in 2012.
This was in fact a running school with several children from the area, and closed back in 1935.

We do allow you to entertain, BBQ, host family, friends, until 9pm, if cleared with owner.
No elicite drug use on property.
Dogs are allowed if cleared through owner, non barking dogs and house trained.
I honestly can't say enough about how wonderful not only their property is, but Diane, Mike and their entire family too! They were SO incredibly welcoming--not to mention Diane's amazing baked treats!--and they made us feel like a part of their family from the get-go. The property itself exceeded all of our expectations! Not only a picture-perfect pool and landscape and home itself, but the barn was light years better than my entire apartment! Couldn't have asked for a better weekend :) THANK YOU and we look forward to coming back soon!
We were greeted into Diane's beautiful barn with a plate full of cookies. We immediately felt at home and relaxed. We liked the place so much, we barely left during our short weekend trip and opted for pizza delivery instead of dinner in SLO. I can't wait to return during the summer months to take advantage of the beautiful pool!
The barn and rest of property was nice. During our stay it rained so we were not able to use the pool or hot tub.
The apartment and grounds here are lovely, but unfortunately for us that is where the good stuff ends. Diane’s communication skills are very poor. The website says that visitors are allowed with permission, we called Diane to ask if our family could come over to visit, (elderly mother, sister and her 2 kids). We hadn’t heard back from Diane a couple of hours later but presumed that it would be ok, so they came over. Whilst we were sat outside with the kids in the pool Diane’s husband came home and told us it was no problem at all for them to be there. We later received an email from Diane to say it was not ok, but the email read as if she was expecting us to be having a large party, so we called her and explained it was just family and she said she had misunderstood and it was ok. We also asked if it was ok for my partner’s mother to babysit our 1 year old that evening so that we could go for dinner.
The following day the same family members came for a BBQ between 5 and 7pm. Diane became very angry and said we were not to have people over again. She also complained about our babysitter staying too late the previous evening (10pm). The following morning at 7.30am we received an email asking us to leave. Evidently the main problem was that the kids were in the pool and as they were not registered guests they were not insured. Had we been advised of this in the first instance we would have understood what the issue was, but the first we heard of it was in an email asking us to leave. Once we were asked not to have people over we would not have done so again. And to complain about an elderly lady sitting watching TV on the sofa until 10pm whilst babysitting seems a little ridiculous. It also illustrates that we were being watched. Diane also entered the apartment on the second evening without knocking or asking if she could come in, she wanted to take some sugar out of the kitchen.
We rented this apartment as an entire unit but it felt more like we were renting a room in their house. Whilst I appreciate that the unit is on the grounds of their family home, to have an issue with a babysitter coming seems a bit unreasonable. If that is the case then the advert should say no guests period.
I was surprised and disappointed by the events at this stay as Diane has so many good reviews. We are not unreasonable people and had Diane explained the issue we would have resolved it immediately. It appears that Diane has a problem with conflict and is unable to deal with problematic situations, a skill which I believe is paramount when renting your house out to holiday makers.
Jederzeit gern wieder !!!!
We had an enjoyable experience in the barn. It was in a nice area and we were able to do some biking to San Luis Obispo and through Pismo Beach. The upstairs apartment itself was very comfortable and beautifully decorated. There is another rental on the lower floor but we never heard them.
From the get go, Diane was responsive and accomedating. She was there upon checking in and was very sweet and offered recommendations. The barn was exactly as pictured, gorgeous and welcoming. My husband and I instantly felt comfortable there with our 2 year old. I was a little concerned with the stairs to the downstairs, but we were on the go, so it actually didn't matter too much. We kept a close eye on him when we where there. We utilized the pool as well. The 3 dogs located on the property were very friendly. I also loved the added touch of her baking homemade scones. They were the perfect little treat after our 4 hour drive. I hope that we have an opportunity to stay here again on our annual Pismo trip. This is a perfect central spot to all the places that we like to visit.

About the Host, Diane
Hello, My husband and I have been married for twenty four years and have been blessed with four amazing children. We originally are from Manhattan Bch CA. We wanted to give our children more space to run as they grew up, so we bought a Vintage School house built in 1891. We live here in the Schoolhouse on 2 1/2 acres, and have recently added a guest home, in the shape of a Barn. This is what we have to offer you. We are in a quiet spot in the country of AG. Pismo, Shell, and Avila Bch are a short 8-10 min drive. San Luis Obispo is a short 15 minute drive. Come relax in our pool, jaquzzi, ride the bikes and enjoy the wine tasting of the Central Coast. I offer a private Yoga class in my own studio on the property, I am a certified YOga Instructor.
We have three very friendly dogs that are quiet, and loving. We love to travel ourselves, and you will get to see the many pictires of our adventures around the world as you stay in our Barn. We love to read, the movies, and to cook. Make your stay into a true B & B and request Dianes delicious healthy cooking, from Farm Fresh vegies and local fish, meat, cheese, and baked goods.
