This is a guest house on a 2 1/2 acre parcel in the country. WE are an 8 minute drive to Pismo, Shell, And Avila Beach, CA. A twenty minute drive to San Luis Obispo. The beautiful Avila Barn is a highlight to see and purchase baked goods, and fresh produce.
This is an upper level one bedroom, very private. Use of the pool, and jaquzzi, bikes, surfboards and Yoga classes.
There are not many reviews yet, because it is NEW, just built in winter of 2012. All new appliances, and beautiful new linens and (website hidden) DVD and cable, internet available.
The bedroom has a queen bed, and the living room has a queen sofa sleeper. A private deck to over look pool.
The neighborhood is quiet, on a dirt road, and just minutes from the historical Arroyo Grande, where you can find a grocery store, movies, Trader Joes, antique shops, restaurants.
Public Transit is the train which can be found just down in Grover Bch. Approx a ten minute drive. The San Luis Obispo Airport is just 20 minutes north of us.There are rental car companies, public transit such as "dial a ride" cabs, and the public bus as well.
We are unique, because we have a historical monument on the property. We live in an old schoolhouse built in 1891. This shares the 2 1/2 acre parcel with the guest house. Very quiet set in the country, although we are minutes from surf, paddle boarding, wineries, shopping, restaurants
We offer private Yoga Instruction, if you wish, I am a Yoga Works Certified teacher and have a private studio on the property. We love to share our mountain bikes for touring around the neighborhood, or for Mountain biking in the local trails around Avila, Pismo, or san Luis.
There are dozens of fabulous hikes in our area. Great for all ages, and levels.
I would be more than happy to cook for you as you are here. I cook with all organic vegies from a local farm in AG, fresh fishes, hormone free meats, and I LOVE to bake!! This is just an added request on your part...you can even choose your menu.
This is a private area, gorgeous for relaxing by the pool and reading a good book.
The wineries are as close as 2 miles away, and all around the area, Santa Ynez, Paso Robles, as well.
There is a water slides park up in Paso as well.
Our home has been featured in Central Coast magazine, as well as A full featured movie back in 2012.
This was in fact a running school with several children from the area, and closed back in 1935.

We had a great stay at the barn with Diane and Mike as hosts. The accommodation was clean, modern and well equipped. We didn't get to use the pool or hot tub because of the weather but they looked great. The owners dogs were very friendly and they got on well with our dog. We stayed in the upstairs apartment. It was a nice peaceful trip.
This was my first stay as an Airbnb guest and I couldn't have been happier! Myself, my husband and two young children stayed in Diane's cozy guest house for 3 nights. The lodging was perfect for us with the spacious bedroom and bathroom and little efficiency kitchen with adjacent living room. I was able to "cook" meals for my little ones and Diane cooked a some delicious meals for the adults. It was such a luxury to not have to plan what I was going to eat or figure out where to go to eat with two small children in tow. She also surprised us with yummy snacks and a bottle of wine when we arrived and then she baked treats for us to eat during our stay! It was wintertime when we stayed but it was sunny out so we went for a little swim in the heated hot tub with our kids. My daughter even said the hot tub swim was her favorite part of the vacation! Thank you Diane for making us feel so welcome. We hope to come back again!
Staying at Diane's barn was great. Diane and Micheal have a beautiful estate, and make their guests feel very comfortable to walk around and use their facilities like their hot tub. Diane's also quite the chef, I encourage you to try her meals, I got a veggie packed lunch from her for a hike that was perfect! We had a wonderful stay.
Diane and Mike's place was everything we could've asked for in a relaxing retreat. Away from the city but not too far out, it was a great oasis. We were first welcomed by Mike who showed us around and once inside, enjoyed some homemade brownies by Diane. The dogs were super friendly and chilled with us while we hung out in the jacuzzi. Our only regret is that we couldn't stay longer.
Diane and Michael greeted us with wonderful goodies upon our arrival, which continued during our 3 week stay. We had a few concerns the first few days after we arrived, a big one being the uncomfortable bed. After mentioning it, Diane and Michael had purchased a brand new bed and had it installed that same day. Wonderful family and very hospitable.
The location is perfect for visiting anywhere along the coast. It was always nice to come back to the country and the kids loved being greeted by the dogs.
The Barn was a lovely place to stay (our extended family also rented the Schoolhouse on the same lot). The bed was comfortable, and the small kitchen was quite usable. Communication with the host was clear and consistent. This home is just a few minutes drive from several beaches, great hiking, and is overall lovely. Highly recommended!
We had a wonderful stay. The property is every bit as beautiful as the pictures show, and very peaceful. The yoga studio downstairs was a big plus. Be sure to check out Diane's recommendations book for things to do locally, especially Montana de Oro State Park for some amazing views from the hiking and mountain biking trails.

Hello, My husband and I have been married for twenty four years and have been blessed with four amazing children. We originally are from Manhattan Bch CA. We wanted to give our children more space to run as they grew up, so we bought a Vintage School house built in 1891. We live here in the Schoolhouse on 2 1/2 acres, and have recently added a guest home, in the shape of a Barn. This is what we have to offer you. We are in a quiet spot in the country of AG. Pismo, Shell, and Avila Bch are a short 8-10 min drive. San Luis Obispo is a short 15 minute drive. Come relax in our pool, jaquzzi, ride the bikes and enjoy the wine tasting of the Central Coast. I offer a private Yoga class in my own studio on the property, I am a certified YOga Instructor.
We have three very friendly dogs that are quiet, and loving. We love to travel ourselves, and you will get to see the many pictires of our adventures around the world as you stay in our Barn. We love to read, the movies, and to cook. Make your stay into a true B & B and request Dianes delicious healthy cooking, from Farm Fresh vegies and local fish, meat, cheese, and baked goods.
Our LIfe Motto is Live and Love Life to the fullest , share your home, your blessings and laugh a lot. Family, God, and Gratitude make up our family motto.
