The space

Welome to lovely Brownstone Brooklyn! Nestled in the charming Cobble Hill neighborhood of downtown Brooklyn, our home is perfect for a family looking for a long stay.

We are two blocks from the F train, 3 short stops on the train to Manhattan. We are also just one block from Court St and Smith St. - Brooklyn's restaurant row.

You can walk to all amenities, including the newly built Brooklyn Bridge Park along the waterfront for play grounds, harbor ferries, sports fields, and bike paths.

Turn off Court St., a bustling commercial street with restaurants and shops, and you are instantly immersed in Brooklyn brownstone charm. As you enter the historic district, you leave the hustle and bustle behind and walk down our quiet, tree-lined street. You will arrive at our brownstone and some up the stoop (where you may want to hang out with a beer in the evening).

Our apartment is a triplex, the top three floors of a brownstone. It is decorated in interesting art and contemporary furnishings.

There are 5 bedrooms and two baths, space for everyone to spread out. The first floor contains the new, modern kitchen and dining area. A door leads to the lovely deck where you can enjoy summer meals. The first floor also contains the living room with flat screen tv and office area, as well as a full bath.

The second floor contains three bedrooms and another full bath. The master bedroom faces the quiet rear of the house. It also has a flat screen tv and blue-ray player. There is a kids room with bunk beds and a trundle. No need to bring toys and books - we have plenty for every age! The third room is sweet teen room, sunny and cozy.

One more flight up is the attic floor. It's sloped roof gives it a rustic charm. There is a guest room with a queen bed and skylight - cool and private. There is an additional living space and 5th spare bedroom as well. The washer/dryer is on this floor as well.

We just returned from 6 nights at Emily's house. It was perfect for our group of 8! We loved the location in Cobble Hill, close to multiple subway lines, my favorite middle eastern market, and the pier 6 playground. The house is spacious. Everyone slept comfortably and we enjoyed eating family dinners in the kitchen and on the porch!

We had a truly lovely time staying at Emily's place. There was plenty of room for all of my 7 family members and we felt right at home. The location is great with walking access to public transportation and MANY great restaurants(Vegan ones included). Emily was super well organized and helpful with a book for everything relating to the house and area activities. We had a great time and would stay there again.

Is it possible to be homesick for someone else's home? Our wonderful visit to New York and the possibility of coming 'home' in the evenings to the family's warm, inviting brownstone made our trip truly unforgettable. We were received with kindness despite our very late arrival; the house was more than we expected, the beauty of the neighborhood just delightful-great food nearby, groceries handy for home cooking (the kitchen a pleasure for any serious cook). Our rooms were spacious and comfortable. As two families sharing the home, we never tripped over each other and everyone could find a spot to slip away and read or draw in peace. Gathering around the large dining table made for memorable meals. Books for all ages was another treat. We would highly recommend Emily's home and would love to return one day.

We stayed in Emily and Seth 's house in Brooklyn for a week with our friends visiting from Munich. The house accomodated us perfectly specially the living room where we spent lovely evenings. We enjoyed our coffee in the morning on the patio which was also spacious and had lovely view on the backyard. As for the neighborhood, it is a secure, family and friendly area and the house is conveniently accessible via public transport.(emily made sure to email us different itineraries , places to visit and gave us maps of New York and Brooklyn) Lots of nice restaurants and grocery shops and hip boutiques. On street parking is available as well. Everything was great and we had a lovely vacation . We ll go back there again and definitely recommend it to friends. Roula and Nina.

We had a brilliant time in Emily's lovely home. It was just as shown in the description/photos, and in fact even more spacious. We arrived much later than expected but Emily waited up for us patiently and welcomed us with a smile! There was a heatwave in thet city, but we stayed cool inside, and breakfasted on the balcony when it wasn't yet too hot. The kitchen is very well equipped and spacious, perfect for family meals. Emily very kindly gave us milk and tea (essential for Brits) on arrival and a bottle of wine to help us recover from our Joury. Everything was clean and comfy. The house is ideally placed for shopping, restaurants, and trips into Manhattan, but also for local attractions like the beautiful Brooklyn Bridge Park and the surprisingly huge Brooklyn Museum. We had lots of good advice from Emily, who communicated quickly with us at all times. We would love to stay here again!

Our host, Emily, made us feel very welcome and kept in touch with us before and during the rental. We arrived very late (owing to flight delays) but Emily arranged for her downstairs neighbour, Julian, to let us in. Despite the late hour Julian gave us a complete rundown on the property and local guidance on what to do for amenities. NYC was experiencing a mini heat wave during our visit and the fans and aircon were a welcome and essential relief. The porch and BBQ were also put to good use and the property has a wonderful aspect over the surrounding properties.

Hi,
I live in New York City, the neighborhood of Cobble Hill in Brooklyn, specifically. This is where my husband and our three children have made our home for the last 15 years. We love it here!
My husband and I are both primary school teachers and look forward to traveling with our children in the summer. Seeing the world is the best education!
