The Space

Enjoy my beautiful one-bedroom furnished cottage on my 2 acres in a Boulder, Colorado. There is a small living room with fireplace and vaulted ceilings. Small kitchen and bathroom and bedroom with vaulted ceiling and skylight that allows views of the night stars from the bed. Enjoy the cottage and the property. There is a rock/water flower garden by the field with a hot tub nearby. Enjoy a glass of wine in the evening or coffee in the morning. A fire pit can be used to warm cool nights anytime of the year. Enjoy the treehouse with a zip line to the cottage and a seasonal creek with a swing to feel young again. It's a great property if you are bringing your children.

The location is ideal because it's only 10 minutes by car to downtown Pearl Street and 25 minutes to downtown Denver. It's 45 minutes by car to the Rocky Mountain National Park. There's a hiking/biking trail right across the street from my property. You can ride this path to downtown and Pearl Street and many other areas in Boulder as well. There's also an RTD bus stop right across the street.

2 acres in Boulder is hard to find. There's a wonderful spacious and calming feeling to the property. I've lived in Boulder for almost thirty years and am a great resource for restaurants, hikes, entertainment, etc. I also know the Denver area fairly well and can help you out with that too.

There are beautiful views of the Flatirons from my property. Overall, an ideal place to stay while you're exploring the city of Boulder or working here temporarily. Looking forward to meeting you!

  • Lovely cottage and great experience! Our time in the cottage and interactions with Mary were top notch. The cottage was ready upon our arrival and was as expected from the description and photographs. The rural-like setting and large yard (with a hot tub) were beautiful (perfect to watch the afternoon thunderstorms). We would definitely return if ever again in the Boulder area.

  • I stayed with Mary for two weeks in January in her private room and came back for two weeks, this time with my family. Mary is an incredibly wonderful hostess and her property is exactly what I needed while I was in classes by myself and what our family needed when I came back- peaceful, safe for the kids to play/ me relax and study, an amazing tree house ( for young and old alike), a zip line, hot tub, a fire pit to roast hot dogs or just enjoy, and two adorable golden retrievers to play catch with if you want to ( a highlight for my kids). :)

Mary is easy to get ahold of if you need something or have questions. For us, we have two kids and the build in shelves and dresser in the living room were great to store their things. One kid slept on a camp pad that we brought and the other kid slept on the couch while we took the bedroom which had a closet and a 6 drawer dresser. Plenty of space for all of us to be comfortable. Whether you have kids or not, this is the most romantic ( yes, even with kids) amazing property in Boulder and we can't wait to come back again!!!

  • Mary was very pleasant and helpful. The house was charming, private, clean, and modern. The lot is 2 acres so there was plenty of room and neighbors only on one side behind a high fence adding to the privacy. The interior of the house was so charming it should be in a magazine. At Mary' suggestion I sat in the hot tub at night and relaxed while counting stars in the sky and trying to remember constellations from my youth. The location gave us easy access to all the main roads we needed to get around Boulder. The best compliment I can pay is that if I visit Boulder in the future, house will be my first choice.

  • Mary was super welcoming and friendly. I was in town for CU Boulder graduation and the location was excellent, about a 5 minute drive from campus. Traffic was never an issue. The location is so quiet and peaceful, exactly what I needed after really busy fun-packed days. (no party noises from celebrating grad parties anywhere)The rental is clean and very well kept. I would definitely stay there again and would highly recommend it to anyone.

  • We loved our stay! Boulder is beautiful and Mary's cottage is so close to everything, just a short drive into the mountains, the town or the hiking trails. Mary left us some bagels and drinks, and the bed; soooo comfortable! What a lovely place to relax! I loved that treehouse and the hot tub too! I really can't use enough exclamation points. We are planning a longer trip to the area sometime and would love to come back here again to stay!

  • This place was great all around. Mary was extremely friendly and accommodating and provided us with towels, linens and had breakfast in the fridge. The rental was very clean and inviting in a perfect location, close to the action but private. I will be staying here again for sure. Great place.

  • We stayed three nights at Mary's guest house. It was perfect! Clean, light, private, and quiet. For us it was centrally located between family and friends living in Louisville and Boulder. Mary was readily available if we needed her but we didn't, so we only saw her on arrival and departure. We were very busy and did not have time to take advantage of the hot tub, but it looked great and there were robes in the closet if we had wanted to.

    Response from Mary:

    Hi Kathy,

I just now read your private feedback to me so I apologize for not responding to you...I tend to forget to read the private feedback because there is no notification of them.

Thanks for your feedback about the pillows...they are very new and I haven't gotten that feedback before so I'll be checking with guests about that. As for the musty smell, I think you are right.. there are times in my home where I can smell wetness and mud. I'll definitely put some candles in there and now that the weather is getting better I hope airing it out will help as well.

    Thanks again.

I've lived in Boulder for almost 30 years and raised my four children here, all who live independently. I have two Golden Retrievers who are friendly and loving. I love my family, friends, home and meeting new people. I love to hike and cycle. I'm a very friendly and hospitable person. I've traveled extensively and appreciate all the different places I've stayed and relationships I've built. Those who come into my home feel welcomed and at ease. My home is a 110 year old farmhouse on 2 acres. It is a wonderful spot that is close to so many things...Denver, the Pearl Street Mall (downtown Boulder), the foothills, Eldora ski area and hiking/biking trails are across the street. I feel very blessed in my life and enjoy seeing others enjoy the wonderful space I've created for myself (with the help of my children).
