We want our guests to enjoy their privacy while they stay at Casa las Palomas, but we find that since Joyce and I love to meet all the wonderful people that come to stay with us; we often gather at the terrace in the evenings , for the spectacular sunsets. We also love staying and and cooking simple but tasty meals from great local food and we often invite our guests to join (website hidden) is best when shared with friends, a glass of wine and good conversation.
Also, first time visitors to San Miguel join us in our daily walks to the centro and sometimes sit with us at the cafes, where we can talk about the many wonderful things to see and visit.

As soon as my wife and I expressed interest in Casas Palomas, Ricardo and Joyce promptly responded and answered all our questions. It was a pity we did not have a chance to meet them but we felt their presence in the delightful design of the apartment and in the entire complex. When we arrived, the property manager Alicia welcomed us and told us some of the basics.
A very comprehensive booklet written by Ricardo supplied with all the information we needed to enjoy a month taking in the wonders of San Miguel. Their restaurant recommendations were spot on. After a couple of weeks we met our expat neighbors Laurie and David with whom we struck a wonderful friendship.
We had been in San Miguel the previous November for the Day of the Dead so did not feel compelled to play tourist. What we spent most of our time was a long morning walk up to the Botanical Garden and shopping the mercados and specialty shops of this walkable city.
Sitting on the terrace enjoying the vistas and welcoming visits from resident hummingbirds made up a good part of our day, reading and watching films on our computer.
I can't say how much we loved Casas Palomas. It felt like home (better than home)! We hope to return to San Miguel after a year traipsing around Europe and definitely we will be in touch with Ricardo and Joyce about spending more time at their lovely casita.
I rented the apartment for a month, and we (my husband and I) have also rented it for a month in 2015, so that should tell you that we really enjoyed it! Ricardo and Joyce were welcoming and informative and there were many very nice touches in the apartment upon my arrival. It is a beautiful home. I especially enjoyed all the vegetation…flowers, vines, cacti. Everything was in bloom, including the Jacaranda trees dotted all over the city. The outdoor space and vistas really make this apartment special. San Miguel de Allende was a welcome reprieve from a rough Chicago winter.
Ah... Ricardo & Joyce. What a joy to stay in your San Miguel oasis. You are such wonderfully warm and hospitable hosts. You made me instantly comfortable in your home, but also took the time to show me around San Miguel, and to make sure I had everything, or could find everything, I might need. The sunsets, dinners, art walks, hot springs, chocolate caliente at the Jardine, and of course the full moon ceremony... who could forget that? I am so glad to have met you, my friends.
I highly recommend all three listings in the house. The outdoor spaces are lovely because Joyce is a passionate gardener, the roof deck is a great place to watch spectacular sunsets, the kitchen is well equipped, the neighbourhood feels both safe and authentic, and the walk to the centre of town is just long enough to work up an appetite. The photos speak for themselves - the apartments are each unique and beautifully decorated in the local style. I will be back!
We loved the apartment at Casa Las Palomas. Bright colors, charming architecture, full kitchen, delightful views from the patios. Ricardo and Joyce were great hosts; chatting with them while watching the sunset was a highlight of the trip. The setting is a less touristy area so you really get more of a feeling of being in a Mexican town yet still reasonable walking distance to the Centro or frequent and easy bus service gets you there. We were able to cook meals in the well equipped kitchen with foods from neighborhood markets. We look forward to returning here again.
Great place, lots of light, very secure. Beds were comfortable, the wifi was reliable, and the walk to the Centro district was pretty short. I really enjoyed my time at the Apartment. Even had a few meetings in the generous outside sitting areas!
We had a fabulous time at the Casa Las Palomas: the location was perfect for us since we like walking. It takes about fifteen to twenty minutes to get to the center of town. Also, we really enjoyed being in a Mexican neighborhood and feeling safe at the same time. It is very quiet considering how it could be in Mexico. The actual apartment is very clean, bright, tastefully decorated and spacious for two people; it has everything one needs. We ate out but could have cooked all meals there, the kitchen is fully equipped. The "patio"/ outside space is beautifully done We only spent 8 days in SMA and consequently were mostly out exploring. Ricardo was very thorough in his communication with us. He called beforehand to make sure we didn't have any questions or concerns before our trip. At our arrival, Alicia greeted us and showed us around. We wholeheartedly recommend this place and are telling our friends about this. For sure we will be back, hopefully with more time. One more comment: since Ricardo has 2 places for rent, a Casita and the apartment, it is an ideal spot for a family or two couples. We definitely give it five out of five stars!
