My girlfriend and I were at Iara's scheduled for a couple of nights, but we cut it short to stay closer to friends. The house was clean and the room was ready when we needed it to be.
The only challenges we faced were the blinds wouldn't shut and there was not air conditioning. After our stay Iara asked if we were responsible for breaking her blinds and her window (which we didn't touch). It was a misunderstanding as she had another guest that came right before we got there.
I hope we understand I just had to follow up with the Airbnb requirements. If I notice that something was broken, I have to report within 24 hours. It is just a normal routine that we hostess have to follow. I also have to contact you to advise you of my finds. And then we proceed with Airbnb speaking to me and to you. And the host/hostess wait for Airbnb final decision. I am sorry if that made you feel that way, but I need to follow with what Airbnb ask me. I am bound by their Rules and Regulations, just like you are. If you read the Rules and agreed upon them before you booked, you should be aware about the way it works.
We don't use air conditioning in FL in a 72 F temperature during Spring season. And the blinds have been replaced.
Thank you for staying with me.
Iara is very welcoming and the house is very clean, and it is in a very good neighborhood. She prepared coffee for us in the morning and offered suggestions in getting around / what to do in Clearwater. Overall a positive experience.
Here's are the downsides. It is my first time using airbnb, so I am not comparing Iara's home to any other places on airbnb. I was traveling with parents and I strongly voted for staying at a hotel, but my dad wanted to try out airbnb based on some positive experience he has read from others' reviews. Hence I'll be comparing with a typical hotel / motel experience. Overall, I think the downsides are twofolds. First, the room was way too small for a family of three. Second, staying in a standard two-double-bed hotel room would have definitely been more flexible for us than sharing the house with a host and other AIRBNBers. We had to coordinate our schedule with Iara for arrival time, and still ended up waiting in the neighborhood for quite a while because she had a mechanical problem with her car and she sent it for emergency repair.
Overall, I would be quite happy to stay at Iara's place again if I'm traveling by myself. She's a great host. But for family travelers, airbnb probably isn't the way to go.
Iara made me feel very welcome; she is a warm and gracious hostess. She reads people very well, so interacts just enough to make you feel welcome but not so much that you feel stifled. The neighborhood is extremely quiet (I slept GREAT!). I personally would advise a rental car, especially for rainy days, as there is little within immediate walking distance. However, I did borrow a bicycle from Iara and easily & safely rode to Clearwater Beach and up to Dunedin (a lovely, quaint little town)! If you are looking for 5-star accommodations, this comfy home will not suit you -- however, if you are chill and relaxed and don't mind mismatched pillows, and competing textures, you will be right at home. Iara has just put in a gorgeous new kitchen so is clearly working to bring more organization to her living spaces. Her home has an open, spacious design but the bedrooms are tucked away for privacy when desired.
Lara made us feel welcome. Although we arrived VERY late, she made plans for us to enter her home and find our room - good instructions. The location and the price were perfect for our needs - 10 minutes away from our in-laws home. Lara was an easy-going and friendly hostess.
lara is a great host! she was kind enough to welcome us even late in the night when we arrived and made sure we are comfortable. She also made some breakfast for us in the morning. it was a pleasure to talk to her and she is always welcoming.
Iara was a wonderful host! She is getting close to wrapping up a kitchen remodel so things are a bit out of sorts in the kitchen area. However, that did not slow Iara down. She actually prepared several breakfasts and dinners during my stay. On one night we even spent time cooking together, which was also very pleasant. Bedroom and bathroom were nice and clean. I will definitely be staying with Iara again.
My girlfriend and I had a memorable Florida weekend at Iara'a place.
Certain portion of the house was under some renovation when we arrived but that didn't stop Iara from making us feel all welcome and comforted.
She was even kind enough to invite us to her friend's kayak party.
We will miss our morning conversations with her over coffee; and definitely contact her when we visit Florida next.

I am outgoing, very active, I hit the gym at least 3 times a week. I enjoy cooking, gardening, chating, making new friends, biking, dancing. My work is very serious so I entitle myself to the fun as a relaxing tool.
