It is such a lovely house to stay with a good neighborhood. The house is well cleaned and decorated. Iara is so kind to offer us suggestions of touring in Tampa, like the local homemade restaurants and bars. And she also emailed guidance of local natural places to adventure. She also made breakfast for us. We spent New Year's Eve in Tampa and Iara invited us to a New Year Party of her friend. Though we chose another adventure in that evening, it still showed her a great host. Staying in the house, you will feel just like at home.
Lara is a warm and welcoming hostess. How many people bake a cake in anticipation of your arrival? I felt as though I was going to stay with a friend rather than someone I've just met. I worked very long hours while on my business trip, and one night after an especially long day, she offered a warm and comforting meal upon my return. Wise and insightful, I appreciated the time she took to share her home with me.
Lara was a very nice and interesting hostess. She went out of her way to make special teas and breakfast. We had a very affordable accommodation. It was a little tight for 4 people. The house is currently undergoing some renovations.
This was my first AirBnB experience, so I wasn't sure what to expect. Overall, I'd say that it was a positive one. Iara, the host, was very gracious and helpful, she even invited me to join her and friends at a local salsa club, I never expected that!
As for the room and neighborhood, I'd say the room is a bit smaller than I expected. Iara has done a good job with the bathroom; clean, bright, and even has mini soap/shampoo bottles. There's a small frig, which was very handy, she even had a bottle of water sitting in it b4 I got there. Speaking of water, I'd recommend you buy your own at the local Publix b/c the tap water in Clearwater/Tampa has a very high amount of sulpher, you can easily smell it while taking a shower. It's unfortunate, but that was the case in all the areas I had visited in Clearwater/St. Pete/Tampa. I hate buying bottled water but had to b/c it was affecting my stomach too much.
Outside of the water issue, the house is very quite and has a very nice deck in back. Iara is very creative, so has lots of projetcts going on which can make it seem a bit cluttered, but that wasn't an issue for me. Her dog and cat were usually out back or locked up so I never had issues with them either. Finally, she let me rent out a bike for my last 2 days there, a fantastic addition!! A great way to see the area is by bike, easy to get around, and local busses have bike racks so u can cover a lot of ground if u wish.
The neighborhood is very quite, but if u don't have a car (as was my case), expect to walk a lot. There's a bus (#73) that passes within 5min walk to house, but it has a very limited schedule. There is another more frequent route (#18) but getting there will take even longer. My advice is to rent a bike from Iara. The Publix is a 10min walk, and 15min in other direction is a stripmall and bus #18 stop. For me, the walking wasn't too bad, but keep this in mind if u don't like walking.
In conclusion, I'd recommend Iara's home for those who don't mind venturing out from the normal. She's a good host and tries to make your stay as best as possible, what else can one as for? Hope this helps.
The location of Lara's home is very good. Only 15 minutes away by car to drive to the beautiful Clearwater beach. The bed was a sofa bed, although it was very comfortable and I'm tall. Iara made my stay very comfortable and I can recommend her home.
The stay at Iara's home was excellent! It was everything I needed and more, Iara was very accomodating and gave me a private room that I could call home base. I needed some quiet time to focus on life matters and she provided just that. On top of that she spoiled me with some amazing food! :) I stayed for a month and would recommend Iara's home and hospitality in a heart beat.
Iara is a wonderful host! She did everything possible to make us feel at home. And we did it ! She told us a lot about Tampa Bay and things to do there. And also we enjoyed some meals together. So, we highly recommend her !!!

I am outgoing, very active, I hit the gym at least 3 times a week. I enjoy cooking, gardening, chating, making new friends, biking, dancing. My work is very serious so I entitle myself to the fun as a relaxing tool.
