I must say I'm slightly disappointed with our rental of Linda+Steve's place. It started off pretty well with good communication from Linda. They weren't around the weekend of our rental but their sister across the road let us in and showed us around as soon as we arrived, didn't even have to knock at their door.
The problems were more the space that we rented. We rented what was essentially the downstairs large room. It stated that it slept 6 and had one bathroom so this was pretty much what we expected. It's nothing fancy but it's all we needed so we were fine with it. The description stated that there was a "kitchen" and also "king bed(s)". As there was only a poor quality picture of the opposite side of the actual room we were renting (there was pictures of the outside of the upper part of the house, and the garage, more pictures have since been added), we were basing our stay based on the description (cooking meals at the house, etc). When we were shown the room it was sadly not what we expected. The picture posted of the room was not the same as what we rented, a wall had been built partitioning off about 1/3 of the total room. The "king bed(s)" were actually one king bed, one small pullout bed, and a single mattress. We ended up with one person sleeping on the couch as the pullout wasn't really big enough for two. The bigger issue was the "kitchen", which was essentially just two hot plates, and a microwave (no pots, pans, etc were provided). The only sink was outside and didn't have hot water. This made it difficult to cook a full meal. We were provided with a key to the garage apartment to park out bicycles in overnight by Linda's sister (although we were told not to sleep in the apartment), so we used the small selection of pots/pans there and the side burner on the BBQ (that I'm not sure if we were supposed to use, as it's only in the description of the whole house), to cook our food.
Overall the place is OK, it's just a big room with a couple beds placed in it, nothing fancy but it's a fine place to sleep. The outside bathroom is clean and fully functional, but I felt like the pictures and description when we rented kind of left us feeling misled and disappointed about the bed and kitchen situation.
Thankfully the description and pictures have since been updated with a more accurate description, but when we booked it was not that way, so I have to leave a somewhat negative review.

Hi! I am a Retired Eugene 4jTeacher and current UO instructor. My husband, Steve, is a builder/carpenter. We are both naturalists and trained in outdoor education and connections with the natural world. For the last decade, through our own school, Campsight, we have shared instructional experiences and inspiring adventure at our precious lands here in Walton on Chickahominy Creek. We are continued students of the wilderness that surrounds us daily in this incredible Coast Range environment. It is our passion to share it's wonders, beauty, and the revitalizing magic. It is our hope that those who find us via the Bed and Breakfast option, will (re)discover the simple joys of earth-time and nature immersion!
*ARIZONA Addition! Our Rimrock canyon county home is now offered only on AIR BNB! Linda is an Arizona Native and Steve is a former NAU Student who conducted research for Museum of (website hidden) in extensive Grand Canyon Studies. Too, he has been a river guide on the Colorado River. Linda is a 4th generation Arizonan. We deeply honor and respect the sacredness of this natural WONDERland!! OH! And Steve, along with help of Linda's talented family built this home with Much Love, Skill, and lots of labor! It shows ;-)
