As much and as little as you would like...we know the area as well as anyone!
The neighborhood is very quiet, however, downtown Lafayette has many restaurants (Japanese sushi, French, Lebanese, Mexican, Burgers), music venues, night clubs, and bars and is only 10 blocks (approx 1 mile/1.6 km) or a 15 minute walk away. The house is located 3.4 miles (5.5 km) from the Lafayette airport and 1 mile away from the Amtrak Train Station and Greyhound Bus Station which are both Downtown.
Close to bus stop, city taxi available, and FREE BIKES!
There is no smoking indoors. Smoking is allowed anywhere outside the home. I have a very large, covered driveway in case of poor weather. Please leave sheets and linens on the beds and dirty dishes either in the sink or dishwasher. Thank you in advance for respecting my home and my property as you would your own.
Excellent neighborhood and wonderful house - very helpful hosts and a great place to stay in Lafayette.
Toby was in frequent contact making sure we settled in OK and giving us suggestions and tips which helped us hit really great places to see in Lafayette. The house is within walking distance of the restaurants, shops and the downtown area. Have to echo a prior review, that house was comfortable except the 2nd bathroom, which is very cramped.
Excellent house, fully equipped. Nice neighborhood, close to downtown. Tobe was great, good hospitality.
Yes the host was very pleasant. The place was very well equipped and we enjoyed the big living room. We will definitely choose this place again.
Thanks for allowing us the opportunity to stay at your home for the weekend. We really enjoyed our stay. The house was very convenient to where we needed to be. The house had plenty of space to entertain at. So thoughtful of you to provide bikes to ride thru the neighborhood. Toby, you have an awesome network of help. Blessings and take care!!
Toby accommodated us on short notice and it's a great place to stay. Plenty of space for a larger group and close to everything.

I am a full-time University Professor of Athletic Training and Sports Medicine. I also teach tennis part-time and own a company that promotes live music events. I was born and raised in Opelousas, Louisiana but I have been living in Lafayette most of my life and enjoy giving suggestions about what to do and where to go in the area.
I also enjoy cooking, running, lifting weights, yoga, Tae Kwon Do, and most of all attending live music events.
One of my latest goals is to travel as much as possible. I have backpacked 10 countries in Europe staying mostly in hostels and I most recently traveled for 2 months across the Western United States staying in over a dozen airbnb homes including an RV, a tepee, and a completely solar-powered dome shelter in the Texas desert!
My latest adventure took place this Christmas Break (2014-2015) as I toured 3 countries in South America, including Uruguay, Argentina, and Brazil.
I also enjoy talking about and showing off the area where I live ... Acadiana.
