About This Listing
Double room in simple and quiet apartment on the 1st floor in the Castello neighborhood, near to Arsenale and Biennale di Venezia, 10 minutes from Saint Mark's Square and 15 minutes from Rialto. Venice Lido is just 15 minutes by waterbus...
The room is equipped with 2 single beds that can be joined for to make a double bed.
The apartment consists in kitchen, living room, double bedroom, single bedroom and 1 bathroom (shared).
The kitchen is not available for cooking but only for breakfast and or cold dishes.
Just east of San Marco's commotion, you're more likely to feel calm than crowded in Castello. Impossibly picturesque, the canals of Castello abut lush park spaces and churches dating back to the 1200s. Locals’ laundry drapes over the clotheslines that crisscross this central neighborhood’s floating roads, and the sight of undershirts baking in the sun only adds to its enchantment. Despite the crowds of St. Mark’s Square being minutes away, a general calm fills the air among Castello’s boat ramps, naval bastions, and tiny bookshops.

Alessandro kept in good communication and helped us with the waterbus from the train station. He even met us at the Celestia stop and walked us to the apartment. The apartment is on the backside of Venice so it was very quiet! Alessandro also had created a google map of all the local places to eat and shop and that was really helpful. He was always around to help us. The beds were different than in the pictures; was a cot and not a bed. The AC was great and the place was clean and tidy. We were also able to keep our things in the refrigerator. He also provided us with a wand zapper for the mosquitoes. He was a gracious host. The waterbus stop is a 5 minute walk and we were able to get to all the local islands.
We arrived really late in the night due to the 2 hours delay of our flight but the host came to pick us up at the boatstation even though it was so late, we are really thankful to his kindness. He gave us much informations about the transport and recommended a lot good restaurants and icecreamshops. Everything was fantastic!
Alex is very welcoming and helpful as a host. The location allows for easy accessibility to the main area while allowing for a more genuine exploration of Venetian life (have a map handy as the streets are difficult to navigate outside of the main area). The room was plenty of space and we felt welcomed during our stay.
Alessandro made us feel very welcome and the room/apartment matched the description. He gave us a google map showing the location of the apartment, as well as recommendations on places to eat and overall had very good advice and insight on what to do in Venice. The room was comfortable and clean and the neighborhood was a very quiet and pleasant part of Venice which was nice considering other areas of Venice can be more hectic. We had everything we needed and he made the process very pleasant for us.
We stayed at Alessandro's apartment for 6 nights and had a lovely time there. He not only sent us the travel routes from airport beforehand but also came to greet us at the boat stop. The apartment is about a 5 min walk to the nearest boat stop and a 10 min walk to St Mark's square.
The room was as advertised with twin beds that could be easily joined together. It was clean, spacious and comfortable.
Alessandro is a great host. Always up for a chat but also respected our privacy. He also recommended some excellent local places to eat – places that we wouldn’t have known about otherwise. He even made some delicious Italian coffee for us one evening.
Overall, we had a very pleasant stay at Alessandro's and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it!
We loved our stay here. Our host was very welcoming and provided us with great sources of information. His passion for Venice came through when he met us at our boat stop and provided us a great little tour on the way to the room. He also provided a Google map which ID'd restaurants and points of interest he recommended. The rooms were very clean and the bed was comfortable. The best part about this place was it was close to the best parts of Venice and at the same time quiet for a good night sleep. We highly recommend this place.
Alex was a fantastic host! As others mentioned, he is very organized and eager to help. He gave us great suggestions for places to eat that were amazing. He provided the perfect combination of organization while letting us do our thing.
The room was spacious and clean, you are close to a church which is cool with the bells throughout the day. The location was great, close to St marks square as well as several water bus stops. Alex made the check in and check out as well as the travel to and from his apartment very easy, which we were worried about beforehand.
The room you stay in is the front room of Alex's personal apartment and you share the bathroom with Alex, which was no problem at all for us, just keep that in mind. This is a great option for staying in Venice for a few days!
