Interaction with Guests
Always a phone or email away. I will not be present during your stay.
Downtown Ojai is a paradise. Shopping, nightlife, street fairs, art galleries, scrumptious food. And we're right by Libbey Park, home of fabulous outdoor concerts sheltered by oak trees. Some nights you'll hear music and smell orange blossoms. Others you'll hear coyotes and owls.
You can walk to nearly everything in town. For larger excursions, ride the Ojai trolley. Plenty of room for a couple cars, too.

This is not a hotel. It is our home and we visit frequently. Although we are happy to share our place and things with you, we will miss them if they are gone, broken or mistreated. If you think of your stay with us as house sitting for a friend, then you don't need a list of rules.
You will find detailed instructions throughout the house on cards in each room and a big book of house guidelines, recommendations for food and activities and manuals for our various electronic gizmos in a binder we call "the book" which you will find on the table when you enter.
Besides that, we keep our house super clean and allergen free. No smoking, no pets.
Limestone patio with plenty of shade in summer and room for outdoor dining. Libbey Bowl outdoor concerts a block away behind fence. Dine in to live music.
Ojai is a very relaxing and beautiful area to stay if one is looking for something off the beaten path. It served my group well as we visited the Santa Ynez vineyards, Santa Barbara, and visited friends in Camarillo. It is only a block away from a grocery store and a few blocks from restaurants in town. Beds were very comfortable and house is very clean. I really appreciated the easy in and out using the keypad instead of a traditional key. We arrived a bit earlier than expected and Alden was very accommodating and easy to get a hold of! We had a wonderful and stress-free vacation in Ojai.
City center Sanctuary is truly a Delight! The home was immaculate, spacious and just perfect for us. The location is absolutely superb… peaceful neighborhood in the heart of downtown Ojai.
Alden was very welcoming and responded to messages quickly. Thanks for such a great first experience using air BNB. Highly recommend!!
This place is great because of the following reasons.
1. Location- It's walking distance to the supermarket where you can buy all you need and ready cook food. This is where we buy bread, fruits and vegetables. Walking distance to downtown to eat ice cream and drink coffee.
2. Very spacious - 2 bedrooms and lots of bathroom. The backyard is good for relaxing too.
3. Great kitchen - if you are tired eating out, you can use his kitchen to cook your own meal.
4. Entertainment - love the netflix and the amazon prime movies!!!
Great place indeed!
What a great trip, a great place, and a great host! We brought our 2 year old daughter and 4 month old baby and felt very comfortable. Alden did a great job making the entire process simple and easy. We were greeted by a nice bottle of wine and, more importantly, air conditioning!
The location is perfect. Just a block from the local grocery store and the "main strip" of Ojai. We were able to schlep the kids to restaurants and explore the local parks. BTW, the parks in Ojai are not covered, so bring lots of sunscreen and cover for your kids.
We plan on staying again in the future and especially when the second child is a bit older.
Alden provided an excellent experience for us. He prepared us well for our stay, and was available by phone and text to answer our questions right away. The home was clean and free of clutter.
About the Host, Alden
Hi! I live mostly in Seattle with my wife Susan and two adorable kids. We like traveling, hiking in the mountains around Seattle, going to outdoor concerts and most of all food. Known for facing driving rain, horrendous traffic and the real possibility that the restaurant will be boarded up and abandoned on arrival just to savor the best Ethiopian food within 15 miles, we are mocked by many and appreciated by few. I learned to speak Spanish to order food (y lo hablo bastante bien), learned to cook to eat it, and learned to speak and write so I could talk about it.
Have you eaten somewhere I haven't? We must right this wrong. Ping me and tell me where and when. I'll meet you there.
