The Space

2 bedroom/1 bathroom home with a full kitchen. Our Rousseau Chateau sleeps 6. Soft, 5 star, white hotel linens and towels, 2 wonderfully comfy Queen beds and a cozy lil' sleeper sofa are here to make your stay the best. This is the perfect place for all your New Orleans shenanigans. The full kitchen is ready for all your breakfast, lunch and dinner needs. We supply organic coffee too! And feel free to enjoy the backyard deck.... lounge, BBQ (gas and propane grill), have cocktails and hang out.

Interested in exploring the local sites in town? We can point you to all the hot spots.... Laissez les bon temps rouler!

Take a beautiful, neighborhood walk to the St. Charles streetcar line. Saunter to all the parade routes, from St. Patrick's Day to Mardis Gras. 4 blocks away from the magic of Magazine street, minutes away from the French Quarter, and conveniently close to the metro, this is the best place to base your New Orleans experience.

We have a great house manual we made that lists the best spots in town, from local attractions to the touristy stuff.

Some Nearby attractions: Famed chef endorsed Stein's Deli, historic Parasols bar (try the Firecracker Shrimp Po'boy), all night dancing at The Saint and endless shopping, eating and bar hopping options from bourbon street to Sunday night crawfish boils at the Maple Leaf.

The rental rate shown is for 2 guests. There is a $25 charge for each additional overnight guest after the first 2.

Interaction with Guests

We interact as much as you want. We've had guests who just wanted to be on their own and experience the city and guests who we've gone out with and shows the "secret neighborhood spots" too. We are happy to help make your stay in New Orleans the best it can be. We are very knowledgable an tourist spots, non-tourist spots, fun activities, food and bars and anything else you are interested in doing while you are in town.

The Neighborhood

It's a real neighborhood with neighbors you wave to or stop and chat with. The homes are beautiful and the whole area has been rebuilt better than it was before Katrina. There are over 20 great restaurants all within a mile of our home, including tons of great bars and shopping. Magazine street is wonderful.

Getting around

There is a bus stop 1 block from our home. The St Charles streetcar line is about a 15 minute walk up Jackson.

Other Things to Note

The French Quarter is about 2 miles away form our place. During Mardis Gras we are 5 to 10 blocks from most of the parade (website hidden) Patrick's Day in the Irish Channel is amazing and we are 5 blocks from the parade route.

  • Thanks to Lean and Scott for allowing us to stay in their home. It was very clean and perfect location, to garden district and downtown.

  • This house was a great find in New Orleans. It is a couple of blocks to Magazine St. and had ease of access to downtown by Taxi. Overall, I believe my guests and I enjoyed the house and the eclectic decoration. Leonard is very accommodating and had great recommendations. This is place is exactly as advertise and I would recommend it to anyone.

  • We had a wonderful stay at Leah & Scott's charming place! It was out first time to New Orleans for a girls trip. We stayed for 4 nights and wanted to be in an area a little outside of the hustle and bustle to get a real feel of the local neighborhoods. This place was perfect for us. It was a great location, very close to Magazine St. filled with local bars, restaurants, and great shopping. Also, it was a short drive to all the main attractions that we wanted to see. Communication with them was easy and they had someone there next door to help us with anything we needed and were shown so much hospitality. The house was clean, comfortable, and stocked with all the amenities we needed.

We got a taste of New Orleans and we will definitely be back for more. We will recommend this place to any our friends visiting New Orleans!

  • Leah and Scott's place was fantastic! The apartment was very clean & cool and it had everything we needed - coffee maker, kitchen stuff, record player (big plus!), and much more. We had two couples staying for 3 days, and it was perfect for our needs. We rented bikes and the apartment was in an extremely convenient location for biking in and around the garden district and biking to the french quarter.

I would recommend Leah and Scott's apartment to anybody who wants to visit New Orleans.

  • My friends and I rented Leah and Scott's wonderful place when they came to visit me in New Orleans. My apt was not big enough to host everyone, and we found that their space was incredibly comfortable and really lovely. They had everything we needed and were very helpful when we needed to re-start the wifi. Totally recommend!

  • My girlfriends and I stayed at Leah and Scott's for 3 nights to celebrate my birthday. The house is modern and charming and well kept. We were welcomed on arrival and communication was very smooth throughout the process. The location is quiet but it's an easy walk to public transportation and you can easily get to Magazine St, St. Charles, or the French Quarter. There was plenty of great information left for us and recommendations of where to go. The house has a great patio for morning coffee. The bathroom is small, especially for 5 ladies to share, but we made it work! I would definitely recommend this place for anyone who wants to stay in a friendly and quiet New Orleans neighborhood!

  • Leah and Scott have a fantastic setup in NOLA. Although we did not meet Leah or Scott, their father, Leonard was there to meet us when we got in from the Airport. He was an informative and welcoming host, showing us a few of the local places, and taking us for a beer at the local dive bar Parasol's. The tips and information provided by Scott were all great choices, and his record collection was something to be envied. Thanks for contributing to a great trip with such a welcoming house!

  • We stayed here for a month & couldn't have been happier. Loved the apartment, loved the neighborhood, and Scott was terrific!!' Unfortunately, Leah was in CA at the time of our stay but her presence was certainly felt in stylish touches in the apartment, which made it special. Highly recommended by Phil & Sandi from Maine, who would be back there today if we could!!!!

  • My sister, brother-and-law, husband and I stayed at Leah and Scott's place for a few days after Christmas. It was great for our short-term needs—very conveniently located in a funky neighborhood we were glad to get to know. We enjoyed early-morning strolls around Irish Channel and the Garden District, but we did drive to the Quarter because the street car was a tad far in the cold weather. For four adults past our party years, we found the bathroom to be a little small. The shower is a small cabin shower (even small by Manhattan standards!) and there wasn't much shelf/vanity space. It was just fine as a home base for a few days visit! Leah was easy to communicate with and made sure we had everything we needed. The backyard looked awesome, too bad it was too chilly to take advantage this time.

  • We had a great time staying at Leah and Scott's quaint two bedroom duplex in the Garden District. The hosts were accommodating, gracious and very cool. We felt very at home from the minute we arrived. The location is close to Magazine Street which is home to numerous restaurants and shops. We found out quickly that we did need a car in order to get around and that the restaurants and shops were just a bit too far to walk comfortably. This is a great location if you want to be in a more residential area but it is a good distance away from the NOLA nightlife. I would definitely stay here again and recommend it highly to anyone wanting to stay in the Garden District.

Scott and I split our time between Los Angeles and New Orleans. We love to share all the joys our cities have to offer with visitors who are looking for something beyond the usual tourist destinations. We truly enjoy pointing guests in the right direction for food, live music, art and quirky, fun venues.... many of them found off the beaten track. We love to travel and we are greatly inspired in our art/lives by what we experience on our travels. Ambiguous hotel rooms? No thank you.
