My townhouse 300m from the beach in the new tourist area of Limassol is the ideal location for a short term rental in Cyprus. It is part of a private complex of 18 units surrounding a swimming pool. It is a a five minute walk to the beach.
My two bedroom "Maisonette" is a 3 minute walk to the beach in the heart of Limassol's bustling new tourist section.
The 20 unit private complex shares a swimming pool and common gardens. There is a double bed in one bedroom, two singles in the other one- and two very comfortable leather couches for two additional kids/teenagers.
The home is fully air-conditioned, a fully-furnished kitchen, Internet and Satellite TV. The porch overlooking the swimming pool has a patio table and chairs and a grass area for a barbeque. Please note the electricity consumption is paid extra according to the meter.
The house is ideal as a family can visit Cyprus- not even need to rent a car because all the supermaket, cafes, restaurants are a few minute walk away. There are also tour companies and rent a car firms so a trip out of Limassol with the family can be done. As it is in the center of the new tourist area all major coffee shops, restaurants and night clubs- and the beach- is a five minute walk from the apartment.
I am a huge promoter of the country of Cyprus. It's unique nature has been totally ignored by the entire world. It is a tourist dream as not only is the country full of incredible historical and ecological sites- but is one of the last unspoiled locations where anyone from anywhere can come to and become part of it. Cyprus is an amazing-a completely undiscovered jewel in so many ways.
What to do in Cyprus?
A trip to this very large island is an ideal family vacation as there is so much here: ancient history, archeology, unbelievable beaches, coast lines, and even mountains. the country has a very, very well developed tourist infrastructure as there are a large number of very interesting sites to visit- including many of the old Cypriot villages that have been restored.
While a visit to all the other areas of Cyprus is a must as this country is truly a great place to take the family for a visit, my house is perfect for a family to use as a base to discover the rest of this incredible place in the Eastern Mediterranean.
The other huge upside for Cyprus as a vaction spot is that English is a first language- and visitors don't feel that they do with most other non-english speaking tourist spots The Cypriots may be small- but there is something very valiant in their national existence as they are so small- only 700,000 Greek Cypriots and another 250K in the Diaspora abroad. Being small makes them very accomodating and friendly. Their hospitality is legendary. Their cuisine is extremely varied- and has many food like the Haloumi cheese- which is unique.
I moved here a year ago because it was hospitable, has a great infrastructure, and English is a first language. Where else can you find this? As long as you are not talking a local job- they welcome you. The sparse population density and all the wide-open areas is a special treat for those from urban centers that never feel what it is like to be around wide-open areas where few people live.
The home comes fully equipped with everything you need for a short-term stay- including pool accessories and barbeque facilities.

Location, location, location
My property is amazing because it is so private. If the same house was any closer to the beach it would be a lot more noisy. The three minute walk to the tourist strip means you can talk down and back a few times a day- and really get to feel the peacefulness of the neighbourhood and its key location. It is not more than a 45 minute drive from any part of the island - even the North.
Taxi, busses- but mostly you can walk everywhere. The location of the townhouse is incredible. The last thing you need to worry about when you are on an extended vacation is the expense and hassle of a rented car.
Joel was prompt and thorough with his communication.
Location is perfectly situated for walking to the beach and restaurants. If you're planning to stay just in Limassol, there's no need for a rental car and you can even take a shuttle bus from Larnarca airport for 9 Euro. Town house was exactly as described - perfect for a party of 3 persons with a pool to enjoy on the day we were too lazy for beach-going. Host (Joel) was very responsive to our needs and concerns and helpful in navigating transport options between Larnarca airport and Limassol. Would visit again!
Joel's place is fantastic, we really couldn't have asked for a better place to stay. You can wonder out to the pool for a morning swim, or meander down to the beach. The neighbours are friendly and the house was immaculate.
There are shops nearby to stock up on food but Joel made sure we had bread, milk, tea etc (plus a nice welcoming bottle of red wine). Essential when you arrive at almost midnight after a very long journey.
There is even a spa across the road where you can have a relaxing massage if you get caught out by a rainy day. (it's in the basement of the red and grey office building)
There is a very nice Japanese place (though a tad pricey) within walking distance and loads of pubs/bars and taverns where the chefs will try and feed you until you burst with authentic Cypriot dishes. For €17 to €20 expect more than you can eat. They just keep bringing food until you say stop.
We were in Limmasol for my friends wedding. However we liked the look of Joel's place so much we extended our stay for a week! It was the right decision, 7 days in the sunshine. :) Thank you Joel for a fantastic week away.
P.S When leaving the airport the signs to Limmasol are labeled Lemesos. This caused some confusion but luckily Joel had given us some great directions so we still found the place ok.
P.P.S In case you didn't know Cyprus uses British style plugs so you don't need to take a converter. :)

Great location, in a quiet area, but only a short walk to the beach, restaurants, bars, shops ...and bus stops!
The (quiet) pool in the small complex was lovely - and very welcome in 30+ degrees heat - along with the air conditioning in the apartment!
The place was clean and there were no problems with the shower/drains while we were there.
Communication with Joel was quick & simple and there was another local contact who was equally helpful, if any info was needed.
It was easy to apply Joel's House Rule - treat it like your own home. I'd certainly recommend the apartment. A relaxing experience all round!
Joel was a good host. Any questions we had he answered promptly. The apartment is in a good location. About 300 metres from the main road. Very quite location. The unit was spacious for the 2 of us. There are 2 rooms. both with air conditioning. The property has a pool and a backyard. Only downside is the upstairs shower. There is no water pressure in the shower head, but this is the only downside to the unit. We enjoyed our stay.
good location. Good place to stay with children. Some problems with sewage and cleaning before arrival.
