A clean and private guesthouse, backed against the mountains in Anchorage. Simple, quiet and comfortable, it offers a large living space and bedroom with private bath, kitchenette and a separate driveway and entrance.
The guesthouse was renovated in 2013. It features a private driveway and entrance, an elegant layout while attached to an older home where the owner lives. It is cleaned and restocked between guests.
The setting couldn't be more Alaskan. It is nestled in a south Anchorage neighborhood, where natural mossy landscapes, old knotty trees, wild fiddle-head ferns and the occasional wild animal can be found.
It feels like country here, but it's tucked away in the city so you still have immediate access to everything you need for dining out, entertainment, relaxation.

Interaction with Guests
While the owner lives downstairs, the guesthouse provides complete privacy and requires no shared spaces or rooms. The owner is usually nearby and available to answer questions and help if needed, and available via phone.
The houses are far apart in a fairly wooded neighborhood, each on an acre or more of land that has been homesteaded since the 1950's. It is quiet and one of the friendliest neighborhoods in Anchorage.
Its about three minutes drive from grocery and drug stores, restaurants, zoo, shops, and it is easy to access both highways that lead out of town. The public bus does not service our street, so your own transportation is preferable. A taxi is about $25 from the airport, and takes about 15 minutes.
Other Things to Note
The guesthouse has a country-like appeal. It is in a low-density residential area of Anchorage. If you are looking for something in the city center, check out my other listing called "Immaculate! Midtown Charmer" - I also have a new 2-bedroom listing available near the airport. It will be available for long stays and month-to-month. Check out the links on my profile
Practice common courtesy.
• Communicate - let me know if you have any special needs or how I can make your stay more enjoyable. Let me know if you will be checking in late or if you have any travel troubles and need to change your plans. I am pretty laid back and flexible to change.
• You can smoke outside on the deck, but do not smoke inside.
• Remove shoes in the house. The guesthouse is upstairs and the floors are wood. Need I say more?
• Clean up after yourself. I don't charge a cleaning fee unless I have to work overtime to pick up your mess.
• We reserve 10 pm and 9 am for quiet time. There are permanent residents who have to go to bed and get up early.
• If you break anything, let me know.
• Check out is at 11 am.
This place was wonderful! It was HUGE and extremely clean. I was traveling alone, so this was a perfect place to feel safe and at home. The location was also excellent. I will definitely be staying here again if I ever make my way back to the Anchorage area. Thanks guys!
We had an amazing time in Anchorage and Jerami's place was perfect. The location was great, close to everything, and not having keys (digital lock) made coming and going easy. We didn't get to meet Jerami, as we were out and about early and came home late, but he made sure to check in and make sure we had everything we needed! He even let us check out late since we had a late flight! The loft was spacious and clean and we would stay again in a heartbeat!
Great place, very large, very comfortable. Location is very quiet, but near trails and convenient shopping and restaurants. Will definitely try to stay there again next time I'm in Anchorage.

We had a wonderful stay! It was very spacious and had everything that we needed. It was a great place for a great price. Thanks!
Host was great, very informative and down to earth. Description was on point. Would gladly stay here again.
What an amazing place to stay! More square footage than I ever expected! Beautiful! Peaceful! Quiet! We were in Anchorage to see family but I seriously wanted another week to settle down in the reading nook to try out all the wonderful titles that were provided. I felt very comfortable and safe which is important to a single mom traveling with kids. I highly recommend staying here and I will do so again and again when I come to visit!

Jerami is a lifelong Alaskan mutt, with a Native Alaskan, Russian, European and Neanderthal ancestry. Much of his non-native family came to Alaska many years ago to trap, mine, fish and later, pioneer the bush pilot era.
From (phone number hidden), Jerami served in the military, then came back to Alaska to work for the government for two years before going back to school at the University of Alaska. Jerami is a natural in the outdoors and worked as a fly-out fishing guide to pay his way through college from (phone number hidden). He earned a degree in public communications and journalism and learned that quiet guys can party and make friends too. But realizing writers are often destined to modest living, he turned to other means to supplement his income. Revitalizing homes and structures has been a perfect hobby (and hopefully) an investment for him, especially with unrealized childhood aspirations of becoming an architect. With a great love for travel, providing comfortable accommodations for international guests keeps him entertained between adventures. And ironically, he got a job working for a construction company...as a technical writer.
So he works a 8-5, renovates and manages properties. In his spare time, he cooks and brews, hikes and bikes, sail and travels, reads and writes, and dreams and does. He loves the outdoors, but loves the smell and sound of an old city all the same. For the time being, he lives at home with his girlfriend, a dog Isla and a cat Maisie. His girlfriend is an avid reader whose main goal in life is to put Jerami in his place when he tries acting smart (or not so smart).
The pets like to eat, sleep and chase mice. They have quite the life - as do the guests, however brief their stay at Jerami's might be.
