It's impossible to describe the beauty of the house...not even the picture can show it! The house and the view are just amazing!!!
The only thing that you should know is that you can only drive the mountain up with a 4x4 car.

Things that conflicted with how the home is advertised:
* The drive up to the home from Uvita is more like 20-25 minutes.
* More than just a 4 wheel drive is required. This road (Calle Bejuco) requires a 4 wheel drive that is 6 cylinder or higher, with a manual drive engine.
* No internet was available throughout our stay.
* Water service was off for 2 days of our stay, while our neighbors who had private water lines, had no issue with water availability.
* Host privately communicated that payment for electric usage is due upon check out. This should be noted in home rental information.
While the view offered from this home is beautiful, it is (in our opinion) not worth the difficulty experienced with the road to the home. It is a lovely home which is well appointed. The pool area is fantastic. However, this road is the MOST dangerous and difficult road we have ever experienced during our many travels in Costa Rica over the last 5 years (and we have traveled southern Nicoya peninsula and Arenal/Monteverde areas extensively). We went through 3 different rental vehicles in one week and had to pay for a new oil pan that was cracked on one of the giant berms. This road may be much better during other times of the year when it has recently been worked on by the road committee, but for our experience, it was horrendous. We lost several days of our trip due to being stuck on this road.
As compensation for the internet not working during our stay, the host offered to waive the "electrical bill" that is due upon check out. There really needs to be mention of an electrical bill in the home rental information. I do appreciate the host, and the communication we had. Once we were able to make it to an internet cafe I was able to let her know about a missing remote control that prevented us from using the home theatre system, as well as the fact that the property manager was unable to get the internet to work for us. The following day, a remove control appeared! Never did get internet though.
Ivan & Rosa, our cooks and house cleaners were fantastic and the BEST part of our stay!
We always take into account our guests comments, it is very important for us to improve our services.
Actually we had a very busy high season which ended off on May. We have now undertaken many works to renew, repair and update equipments.
First, we just contracted a new provider (private company) to have the best internet connection as the local public one disappointed everyone in the area. This is done at this time!
Second, we just ordered new mattresses to have the best comfort in the bedrooms.
Regarding the road, each year with the community of neighbors we invest on the road access, as do the 2 luxury hotels very close to our property who also need to have a good and reliable access. I won't say it is dangerous as we reinforce in priority the difficult and bumpy areas; it is clearly better to have a good 4X4, as it is in all the country to be able to enjoy the best places; some people like this way of driving crossing the jungle to discover a tremendous view and a peaceful land. I do!!!
Finally, we pay attention in CR on the "eco-friendly behavior" for energy use, that's why we put the electricity consumption apart from the rental; I will check again this info is correctly mentioned on the sites.
Anyway, I'm happy you appreciated the service and attention from our team and our global relationship. I hope you will come back again to notice and appreciate the improvements we make thanks to your feedback!
What an amazing home! We experienced excellent service from the team in Uvita and I can report that the photos don't do the house justice- it is a stunner.
The trip is exactly 15 minutes from the highway- 4x4 a must and not for the faint-of-heart, but if you consider it part of the adventure, it's kind of fun. Very steep passages, but just stay calm and know that even a little Toyota Rava got us up to the top with no problems whatsoever.
The views are amazing, and the layout of the house allows those who wake up early to make breakfast and enjoy the pool and rancho area without disturbing those still sleeping.
Wonderful, too, to just plug in your iPhone and stream your music or iRadio throughout the common areas.
A party of five spent one week here and we would recommend it to anyone looking for a peaceful retreat!
