This property has been in my family since 1959, when my Grandfather purchased it as a summer cabin. The cabin sits west-facing on high bank waterfront with spectacular views of Hood Canal, and the Olympic Mountains.

The space

The cabin is about 1100 square feet. The main bedroom has a queen bed, and the second bedroom has two twins. The cabin is located on about an acre of land, so there is room to stretch your legs.

Guest access

You can access the entire property, save for the guest cabin which is permanently occupied, and the tram down to the beach for liability reasons. There is a tram that goes down to the beach (this is high bank waterfront) but we will not be providing the key to the tram and ask that you do not use the tram, nor play on or around the tram.

Interaction with guests

I will not be available to interact with guests in person as I live in Portland, OR. Marla in the guest cabin lives on site and is available for general questions.

Spectacular views. This was such a beautiful home I truly did not want to leave. It's secluded and quite but only a few minutes drive to town.

Nice place to relax in, can't beat the view! Very clean with all the amenities you need. Good communication and while there is an older lady living on the property you really don't notice. Thanks for a nice stay!

This is an absolutely lovely and charming home, and the view is incredible! The neighborhood seems far off, even though it isn't, due to large trees (along with fences) separating the houses. We were able to hear the neighbors though, when we sat on the deck out back- a lady was singing, and playing old jazz- and we liked it very much... We were curious about Marla, and just how close her presence would feel- but Marla's house is behind the main house- you practically never see it, aside from cooking in the kitchen- and even then- it was almost unnoticeable (although she does keep an outside light on during the night. It didn't bother our group, but it may someone else's). I met Marla briefly (seems very kind), the night we checked in, but other than that, we never saw her. That is, we felt very much on our own, which was how we wanted it. The house has amenities- movies, games- as does the kitchen- seasonings, oils, tin foil, baggies, napkins... And the town of Poulsbo is super sweet! Licorice Shrine! All in all, we felt very comfortable and were sad to leave. The trip was too short!! We would absolutely come back here.

This waterfront cabin was absolutely perfect for our vacation. Loren was extremely helpful with any questions that we had and everything that we needed was provided in the cabin. Although the cabin is very cozy, the deck was our favorite part! The view was amazing! I would definitely recommend to stay here If you ever need a quiet, calm getaway.

The view here can't be beat, and it's very quiet and relaxing. All three beds are very comfortable. Games, puzzles, DVDs and books are all available. There are a few gaps in the fence where a determined unsupervised dog could get out. We kept ours supervised because I thought she'd be more determined! The Wi-Fi is kind of slow which I liked. A great place to unwind and I totally recommend it. The house is very close to town which everyone who visits should check out, especially Sluy's Bakery! Kayak rental from Olympic was easy and the staff was great.
