To Host is a passion for me. I manage the property of my family to share the fantastic mood of the Centre of Rome. I live in a residential area but the apartment is like a second home for me, this is why I know very well the area with it s characteristics. The very central position makes it perfect for enjoying the main monuments. The nightlife going on all around the large historical centre can easily be reached by foot. Fantastic location! We could walk to all the main attractions such as Pantheon, Spanish Steps, Vatican Museum, etc. Which means we got to see Rome in both the day and night. Plenty of good food and Gelato at every corner. Perfect for foodies and those wanting to see the city without the trouble to taking bus, train and taxis.

Everything was fine (well, except for one of the bathrooms) until the light went off. I thought it was the whole neighborhood, but quickly realized it was just our apartment. Because of this, we had a miscommunication with my nephew, who was out with a friend, and the fact that we couldn't call him via Whats up as we promised created a very bad situation that caused him staying out for the night. This happens around 11:30 pm, everything was closed and there was no way to contact Nicola. I am not going to go into the details, but the next day, when my nephew came, and actually I could use his phone (his phone was the only one we could use to call) Nicola explain to me what to do to restore the electricity. I wasn't happy but I figure, is not his fault. However, to my surprise and reading other reviews about this apartment, I found out that somebody had the same problem, and complain about it, meaning, Nicola knew and he neglect on sharing that information. I was really mad because we went trough a very uncomfortable situation due to something that could have been avoided. The thing is, the apartment is old, and can't run the AC and appliances at the same time (the light went off because we use the tea pot to heat water!) Now, that being said, I gave it 3 stars since the apartment is decent, beds very comfortable, and a lot of natural light. I just wished Nicola had explained to me the electricity issue and that one of the showers are so small that nobody wanted to use it.

Our stay here was just OK. Very bare minimal. Living space is one small couch crammed up to a dinning room table- no TV. Bedrooms are were decent size- 2/3 had TV. Bathrooms, mostly showers, are really not good for a group of 6, especially with the one not working (see below). The best part about the apartment was the location. Most attractions are walk-able and area felt very safe. Issues with our stay: We were told there was a washer with detergent- upon arrival there was no detergent. When booking, we were not made aware that the washer could not be used at same time as air conditioning. We were also not made aware that you could not use the AC with any other electronics. All this info was given to us upon check in, this would not be easy with a group of 6 people. So the first night we blew the power out by using the AC at same time as curling iron and my father had to go in basement and figure out how to reset. Upon check in, host told us that had never happened before and did not need to show us where electrical panel was located.. well it happened. Biggest issue was small shower did not drain and would over flow with water. We could not use this shower so there was one shower for 6 people. The one shower that was "usable" is a bathtub with half a door- water gets all over the bathroom if you do not shower in one corner of tub. Floors were very dusty- we had to wear shoes in apartment. There was dirty dusty art on the walls. My brother had very bad allergies from sleeping in these dusty conditions. Host was not very welcoming when we checked in "too late". He said check in was usually 3 PM and continued to tell us how late we were. This was very rude considering he had our flight arrangements since we booked months ago. We were always expected to check in at that time.

The location is amazing, close to most sights and restaurants etc. A quiet street close to a lively neighbourhood. Nicola is a great host, very quick on communicating and was right on time with our check in arrangements. He also was kind enough to arrange a taxi to the airport which was on time and at a very reasonable price. We had a great time and would recommend this apartment to others. The description of the apartment was very accurate. Grazie Nicola!
