Interaction with guests
Welcome and any further assistance that might be needed
The Marina Deportiva is actually the city center of Alicante. Few marinas in the Spanish Mediterranean are so very conveniently located form the live on boar perspective. You get all the advantages of living in the city center without the noise and the hustle of traffic and people. Yet, in minutes you can enjoy the bustling live of a city that is half tourist, half an administrative capital of province. You will get a feeling of day to day life in Spain while being able to enjoy the beach at the same time. In the nearby area you have a regular commercial district with big departments stores, small retail shops and a very handy Carrefour (open 7 days a week from 10:00 am to 10:00 pm). Next to this area you also have the Old Town. This is a recreational area for the youngest crowd, lots of little bars and some bistros too. There are also lots restaurant where you can enjoy dinner out in the open in a picturesque setting. Living on boar is very pleasant. It is quiet and relaxing. You have the city right in from but really, if you don’t want to, you only have to go to there to get food if you don’t want to eat every day in the marina restaurants. The marina has all the services you might need, there are showers and restroom open 24/7, laundromat, and at the reception they will help out with touristic information or call you a taxi. There is security 24/7 plus video cameras all over the pontoons. The ambiance is nice since everybody is on vacation having a good time. Most or the neighbors are mature people from all over Europe (mainly). There are some unstated rules of civism and community living by which, for example, none of us play loud music or practice nudity, etc.
There are trains (the TRAM;) and bus stops nearby in case you want to visit other towns
Other things to note
Just before you make up your mind, remember that this is BOAT and it is OLD. Space is somewhat limited, the kitchen is small and you will not be able to prepare elaborated dishes. Living in the marina is a bit like living at a camping. It is laid-back and casual. There are some multi-million euros super yacht but still it is all very unpretentious and relaxed. You will probably be on your bathing suits (as everybody else) more than half the time.
Basic civic behavior... do what you see other people doing. Just as an example, normally nobody plays loud music.
