Frequently Asked Questions
It looks like you're next to a train line?
Yes that's right, a passenger train passes by around every 20 to 30 minutes during the day (and they stop about midnight). Some guests say they don't notice it at all, but it depends on how much background city noise you are used to. The downstairs main bedroom is well insulated and you won't notice it much there.
+ No smoking inside the house (but you can use the balcony)
+ No pets
+ No parties
+ If you need flexibility around specified check-in or check-out times, please let me know in advance
Although we didn't meet Michael and Belle, they were very organised and accommodating. The house was very clean and in a very good location.
My booking was made with much haste and angst !!! I could never have found a more polite and accomodating hostess than Belle.Thankyou Belle.
The apartment was clean and tidy with many extras. As we had small children the stairs were probably not ideal but we /they managed.
We also didn't realise just how close we were to the train station but again the children were highly entertained.
A lovely comfortable and warm stay.
Michael and Belle were fantastic hosts. The house was well presented and well-appointed. It was close to the train station and High Street shops, cafes and restaurants. It had everything that we needed and we would stay again. A great experience- thank you!
Michael and Belle's townhouse in Northcote was great. The apartment was clean and tidy upon arrival, and looked exactly as advertised. Northcote is such a wonderful inner north suburb of Melbourne, and the townhouse is literally right in the heart of it - very close to the many fabulous cafes and restaurants, plus only a short walk to the local shopping mall. Having the train station directly across from the apartment was very convenient; so to was the garage space for our car. All in all, a recommended rental, particularly if business or pleasure requires trips into the city.
Just a small note to parents of small children - the stairs are a bit tricky if you have toddlers like me. However, we planned ahead and brought a couple of gates with us, which worked well. I would recommend doing this!
We had a great experience staying at Michael and Belle's. It was a very convenient location for us - about half way between the high street and my sister-in-laws place. Michael and Belle were very responsive and checked to make sure we had everything we needed. They even left some hot cross buns for us as we arrived right before Easter!
We had a very comfortable and enjoyable stay. Belle and Michael have thought of everything, from recommending near by cafe's to leaving earplugs (train noise was minimal and personally we didn't feel the need to use earplugs) to make the stay comfortable.
