This apartment is really all about location, it is easy walking distance to a lot of downtown restaurants and the convention center. It is very basic and less furnished than most of the other houses and apartments I've rented. Not in a bad way of course, it just doesn't have the personality that I often come across using home booking sites. It has more of a dorm-type feeling so I would probably stay elsewhere if you are looking for somewhere 'homey', unique, or 'Austin'. We just needed somewhere to sleep our MS 150 riders and we weren't really seeking personality, so for us it didn't matter and it was well-suited to our needs. The apartment is generally clean but shows some signs of age and wear from visitors past (i.e. stained carpets, broken towel hooks, aging appliances). This is a first floor apartment with easy views in from the street and courtyard area, so we ended up keeping the blinds closed most of the time to avoid feeling like we were in a fishbowl. We were a group of 6 (originally planned on having 8, but one couple decided to get their own hotel room last minute) but the two single air beds were easy to find and still really nice to have so we didn't have to cram into the 3 beds. Some of the towels were still in the wash so we had to track those down as well as the dishes were all still in the dishwasher, but not a major inconvenience. The entrance is a number pad and not a key, which I really appreciated with our group, we didn't have to keep track of who has a key. I'm not sure if it happens every night or just on Sundays, but a little after midnight the recycling/trash truck came and woke everyone up with loud clanging as it emptied bins in the alley right behind the apartment. I definitely got an idea of how thin the walls are and why the host is seemingly overly cautious about noise after 10 pm (which he is, we were required to guarantee it was not a bachelor/bachelorette/birthday celebration and provide ages of everyone in our group, a first for me on this site or others). The on-site parking spot is really convenient and a big plus. We had another car and it took a few laps around the block to get a spot, but we found one right in front of the building. Overall, I think this would be a great apartment if you are looking for a budget-friendly location for a conference or work trip for a group. As it is very basic in amenities and furnishings, I definitely wouldn't call it luxurious as is in the description, but it is certainly a great location and affordable and a good choice if you just need a place to call home base during your trip to Austin.
Extremely centrally located and accessible to downtown Austin. Given we only had a short weekend, this place was a great, easy home base for great restaurants and bars. The place was clean and well stocked with all the amenities you would need and typically get at a hotel. It comfortably slept 10 and was all in all a great deal and a big success.
Great apartment. Great location. Basically like a hotel. My friends and I were holding a mini business school reunion and the apartment was perfect. Sandeep was also very receptive and helpful when we ran into a very very minor inconvenience which was resolved with an hour. Highly recommended if you got a group looking to hang out in austin.
