About this listing
Simple, secure, & sanitized space.
We welcome visitors to share our magical Taos experience - beauty, art, spirituality, & character. We create a peaceful, independent, zen space for visitors to our lovely valley. Bienvenidos!
Super-clean, pet-, chemical-, and scent-free accommodations for sensitive and particular guests. :-) I provide what I want when I travel - quiet and ultra-clean.
Our property is a magical garden (yes, magic!) with lawn for morning yoga/prayers, medicinal herbs/veggies/flowers, and visiting wildlife. A sacred space, slightly more than 1-mile from the Hanuman Temple and Taos Plaza. To preserve our peaceful energy, we exclusively accept guests with a minimum of two positive reviews from other airbnb hosts.
We always welcome our return guests with special appreciation.

This Airbnb is not fancy or upscale, but IS a serene, zen, studious, conscious atmosphere. Private like a hotel room, but MUCH cleaner, quieter, and more secure. Everything is sanitized completely between guests - including ALL linens washed (even mattress-pad, comforter, all blankets, carpet, etc) - even if it hasn't been used. We even clean the carpets.
Comestibles and toiletries not included.
Great location - close to town but still rural - about 1.3mi S of Taos Plaza, 3 miles to Holy Cross Hospital, 20 miles to Taos Ski Valley (shuttle stop 9/10mi from house).
Beautiful views of Taos mountain and spectacular sunsets.
Incense, sage, and other natural scents/smoke welcome indoors, but tobacco smoking outdoors only.
Pets are discouraged and never permitted indoors. We have two large German Shepherds who are personable but aloof and highly unlikely to permit other dogs on property. We are not set up for children under 14, but clean, conscious, and respectful young adults always welcome.
"Alternative" lifestyles always very welcome.
Security, discretion, and privacy ALWAYS 100% guaranteed.
Perfect for visitors on a budget visiting Taos for retreats, classes, workshops, internships, nursing rotations, secret liaisons ;-) , and just to get away to enjoy our amazing outdoor activities.
Come enjoy northern New Mexico magic!
3 night minimum
Includes all utilities (plus wifi!)
Barters considered too.
Exactly what is listed - completely private entrance and parking. Gated and locked property - open and close gate when arriving or leaving. No shared space with host, but we are happy to say hi if we are around, and will likely share some garden magic. :-)
Interaction with Guests
Usually meet guests on arrival, show them into the space, and after that just text or message to check in. I'm always available by phone for urgent needs. :-)
Quiet, rural, pastoral, green and lush in summer, close to town, great neighbors.
The Taos Chile Line is the local bus service around town and to the Taos Ski Valley 9/10mile to nearest stop. There is also the "Blue Bus" which offers daily regional transportation, and the Rail Runner train, which goes from Santa Fe to Albuquerque. Taos is beautiful for biking, but has few bike paths. The speed limits are rather low, however, and drivers are courteous to pedestrians and cyclists.
Other Things to Note
Property is gated and locked, manually operated - necessitating getting out of the car to unlock, open, and close the gate whenever arriving or leaving. This could be difficult for individuals with mobility limitations, but is necessary for security (and to keep the dogs from leaving).
Shoes off indoors ALWAYS - we have a nice little cherry bench to sit on while removing shoes inside. :-)
Microwave, mini-fridge, & coffee-maker (with filters) included.
Smoking tobacco outdoors only; 420-friendly anywhere on property.
No indoor pets (not even ours).
No shoes indoors - did I say this already? (remove in entryway, slippers provided if needed)
Maintain peaceful vibe.
We are quiet and studious, enjoy gardening and natural health, outdoor activities. I was a small business owner for many years, working on second career now, enjoying beautiful Taos.
I find hotel rooms to be quite germy spaces and I avoid them as much as possible when I travel. I try to create for my guests the experience I like to have - a super-clean, quiet space and not much interaction with the host.
I clean with rubbing alcohol and essential oils (even the carpets get damp-mopped) after every guest to ensure an extraordinarily clean and chemical-free environment, just as I like to have for myself. All linens are also laundered after every guest - all comforters, blankets, sheets & pillowcases, all towels and bathmats/rugs. ALL of it. Even pillows are washed and/or tumbled in a hot dryer with eucalyptus intermittently.
If my guests need anything, I am happy to help - otherwise I ensure privacy and an uninterrupted stay. Please remember that I can keep rates low because I do not provide amenities such as shampoo, food, laundry, tourguiding, etc.
We do so look forward to hosting your enchanting visit to Taos! :-)
