Overall Guest Satisfaction

Check In
  • Highly recommended as a place to stay in Oaxaca. Jose is a wonderful and exceptionally friendly host. The location is very central, safe, and the living space was efficient and comfortable. It would be difficult to imagine a better lodging experience over the week I spent there. Internet worked great (which was important for me as I had work to do). Kitchen had everything necessary for cooking. Rooftop terrace was beautiful. Overall, I could not have been happier with my choice of accommodation.

  • My husband and I loved our stay with José. He was very friendly and helpful. He helped me often with my Spanish. We especially loved the upstairs terraza with its view of Santo Domingo. The only downside was the noise, worst on weekend nights. But what can one expect with such a good location?

  • We had a great experience at Jose's place! It is a cute place with a beautiful sunny terrace on the roof. Jose was very helpful and kind. He went out of his way to show us the beautiful Oaxava. He even helped us with our Spanish! Bonus. The place is clean and the location is PERFECTO. The wifi works well, and there are outlets to charge your devices. It's within walking distance to everything we wanted to see. The Zocalo (city center) is a block away. There are numerous restaurants, coffee shops, and art museums near by. It is affordable and easy. I would definitely stay there again!!!

  • I had a nice visit at José's place. The room I stayed in was very pretty and well taken care of and the terrace is lovely. The house is well located and José is very friendly and helpful. The bar across the street can be loud at night but I had heavy shutters on my windows and with earplugs it was just fine for me.

  • Jose is very easy going and is always making sure we have everything we need. He's very generous and even took us to a few places around Oaxaca.
He's mum is also there and she knows the area very well. If you speak Spanish, be sure to chat with her, she's wonderful.
Location is excellent. There's so much to see in Oaxaca and this place was excellent for our long stay.
    Highly Recommended.

    Response from José:

Gracias Moi por tu recomendación. Mi mamá te da las gracias por mencionarla y que la recuerdes con cariño. Buen viaje.

  • This is the type of experience many Airbnb users are seeking: more than just a (very reasonbly priced, centrally located) place to stay, you will be a guest of Jose and his family; they will treat you to gracious hospitality in every way.
Especially memorable to me was being invited as a valued guest to Christmas Eve dinner with his extended family. One doesn't experience that in a hotel. And that type of immersion gives you a deeper relationship with the place and a much richer experience as a visitor.

Location cannot be beat: one and two blocks off the streets most interesting to tourists and within view (from the beautiful roof terrace) of Santo Domingo church. A short walk to everything.

You're likley to meet other agreeable, interesting guests there as well.

  • Jose was a superb host. He was polite, helpful, and caring. I was made to feel completely comfortable in his home.
The house has a spectacular location. I was able to walk everywhere. The home is kept spotless. WAY better than any hotel I stayed in on my trip.
There is a good bit of street noise, especially on weekend nights. Jose was thoughtful enough to provide earplugs! I used them and slept fine.
My Spanish is good but not great. I was able to write to Jose in English, and asked that he respond in Spanish. That worked fine for both of us. I would not hesitate to recommend his house to other travelers to Oaxaca.

  • El lugar estuvo muy limpio, bonito, amplio y José era un anfitrion muy amable y con buenas recomendaciones. La ubicación está ideal, en medio de todo pero en un callejon tranquilo. Lo recomiendo!

The place was nice, very clean and spacious. José was nice and had several good recommendations. The location was ideal, in the middle of everything, but on a quiet side street. Recommended!
