The cosy studio apartment is located on the ground floor of a beautiful family home alongside the Miotone Dam and Ngong Road Forest, section 1, just off Ngong Road and the Southern Bypass.

The space
A studio apartment with open-plan bedroom, living room and kitchenette which is accessed through a back garden and lawn, a separate bathroom, with toilet and bath that includes a courtyard garden, with a unique outdoor shower and jacuzzi bath.

Please see below the main amenities of the space

• Living room and kitchenette opening out onto it's own private garden. The space is set up with a 2 seater couch and 2 chairs and a desk for a quiet workspace.

• The bedroom section has a King sized bed with mosquito net, bedside tables and ample wardrobe space, with ensuite bathroom.

• The kitchenette is stocked with microwave, fridge, kettle, toaster, plates/bowls/cups/glasses, tea/coffee/sugar.

• An indoor bathroom with toilet, sink and bathtub, and a lush outdoor shower and a jacuzzi bath.

• Private garden sitting area

• Stunning view of the forest, garden and dam

Guest access
The apartment is private from the main house and has its own entrance from the car park through a back garden overlooking the forest.

Please respect the privacy of the family living in the main house, it is their garden and when it is being used by them it is best to be discreet. There is a map that shows path and areas that you may use when the family are not using them.

We do not allow photography or photoshoots in the property due to the fact that it is a private home.

Other things to note
The property nurtures some of the last original indigenous forest of Karen and borders the Miotone Dam, hence is a biodiverse haven for birds, insects and small mammals such as bush babies and tree hyrax. The family are all passionate about the indigenous forest, birds, bees and all the happy wild animals living around us!

I live in Nairobi with my fiance and little girl. I have just set up The Forest Retreat in Karen and I have also been a co-host for the past 2 years for my Mum's cottages in Gilgil and for our family home in Watamu. I grew up in the wilderness of Kenya, which is my happy place :)
