No smoking and no pets. No raucous partiers.
We loved staying in Karen's beautiful house. It was so quiet, clean, peaceful and cosy. Everything we could want was there. The kitchen was perfect for breakfasts and the occasional dinner, but Mill Valley has a great selection of restaurants so we often took advantage if those. The house is in a great location, easy parking, quiet, and a great walk to the town center, max ten minutes. You can walk either on pavement the along the road or through a gorgeous Redwood grove. Karen was incredibly helpful, generous and welcoming, a great communicator ahead of time and giving all the info we needed after we arrived. We felt really taken cared of. Mill Valley is a lovely town, with so much to offer. With this as a base, we went to Muir Woods, Tennessee Valley hikes and Point Reyes - amazing nature and beaches all around, as well as a great town with good food, music, local stores and farmers market. Thank you so much Karen, we think this is the best place we have stayed in Mill Valley and we def hope to be back.
Charming! I had a wonderful stay. Far exceeded my expectations. The place was exactly as described if one assumes the best. Nespresso machine was a nice bonus. Also a really good selection of books. A great location: beautiful neighborhood, sunny patio with southern exposure; a 10 minute walk to town; a 5 minute walk to Mill Valley's award winning library. Karen is a kind, gracious and thoughtful host. This is the best AirBnB / (website hidden) place I've stayed. This will be my first choice the next time I'm looking for a place in Mill Valley.
One week over Christmas at Karen's place was very much enjoyable. A little over several min-walk takes us to the downtown of Mill Valley. The apartment is clean, pleasant and cozy. The small kitchen is very well equipped, and you can easily make simple meals. We used a stovetop espresso maker in the kitchen every single day and enjoyed Peete’s coffee. The bed is very comfortable, which is important. Although I did not see Karen who was also on vacation, I did not run into any situations where I would need her presence. I highly recommend this place to who would like to spend a weekend or a week away from the city and enjoy walking in nature.
The retreat was a very comforting, enjoyable, and quiet spot! Close walk to downtown and nature trails. The studio is filled with an awesome assortment of records, books, and cds that make it the perfect place for a quiet night or day. Loved it and cant wait to head back!
Our stay in Mill Valley at Karen's apartment was really great. It was clean, the bed was very comfortable, and the location allowed us to see a lot of the bay area. Karen was welcoming and we knew that if we needed anything, she was there. We really enjoyed our stay. Thank you Karen!
I loved staying here and truly felt welcome - such a wonderful host and experience all around. Thank you for everything!
Beautiful and comfortable home in Mill Valley. Rustic charm, well staged, the perfect blend of personal and chic. Karen included wonderful personal touches like coffee to make in the morning, great books to peruse, and records to listen to. Couldn't have asked for anything better! Really a fantastic experience.
I'm a mom, teacher, gardener, and yogi. I work hard a my people-intensive job, which is why I seek balance in quieter pursuits like digging in the garden or reading. I'm a native Northern Californian. If I can't recommend a specific restaurant, hiking trail, or adventure in Marin or the greater Bay Area, I'll know someone who can.
