Great spot. Super secluded but close to town if you want to party. Pool and view are great. Rooms are decent. The hill can be tiresome, but totally worth it. Would book again!

This place is PERFECT. Our entire trip we had been staying in beach cabanas and places right on the beach, so we decided to switch it up because we figured a place like this would be a lot more relaxed and quieter away from everything. We were exactly right! This place is only 5 min drive (10 min walk) into town yet it is away from all the busy tourists. It is so peaceful and relaxing. The pool was just perfect and very clean!! One side of the view was the pool with a view of the beach and the other side of the view was with chairs you can sit down and read in and a view of a jungle. It is an amazing place that made us feel right at home. We never wanted to leave! Breakfast is served each morning by the amazing cooks who are also so very sweet and there are hammocks to hang around in as well. This place is super relaxed and we stayed in the room with its own private balcony which we loved as well! Not many bugs which I was surprised because we were around so much nature. It was the perfect place and the room was very comfortable. We will 100% be returning here.

The staff was wonderful, Ana saved our stay at the Casa Andalusia, she was very attentive, professional, and did everything she could to improve our stay. However, the Garden room needs significant improvements; there is no ventilation and it is impossible to sleep without any AC. The mosquito nets are not well placed in the door, so is not possible to leave it open to cool the room. In addition, the bathroom is in bad shape, there is no door (no privacy), very low water pressure, and the shower window opens and lets all the bugs inside. the breakfast was great because the staff served us eggs and bread every day, however, I highly recommend revising the offered menu and providing a more traditional Nicaraguan breakfast (Avocado/ maduros/ tostones/ rice and beans - anything but not panckaces/granola/french toast).

We really enjoyed our stay! A few main points to consider would be: - The View. AMAZING view. - 10 min walk to everything (downhill to stores, restaurants, cafés/bars, car/motorbike rental) - Really steep hill to walk up to the BnB, which is exhausting in the heat, BUT there's always the really nice Pool that awaits you (cleaned daily) - Very friendly/helpful staff during the day and security all night - an A/C unit would have been nice - Mini-fridge stocked with drinks on arrival - Not for anyone who is deathly afraid of bugs (we did find a scorpion in our room) but bugs are inevitable in Central America, less to do with the actual property. - breakfasts every morning were nice! - very nice surf beaches about 30min away by shuttle, and cheap to get to and from there (Check out Casa Oro for all the info) All in all, would definitely recommend! This listing is a gem!

This airbnb has an incredible view, beautiful pool, tasty breaky and well-equipped (but hot) rooms. Overall our stay here was quite enjoyable. It is a good location..close enough to walk everywhere. Our host was accommodating and had lots of information about the town and there is lots to do and see. Our only disappointment was we were interested in booking a catamaran tour during one of our days since we love being out on the water and had heard great things about Nicaragua booze cruise. We paid $49 dollars for a 4 hour cruise but we were completely disappointed with the tour that we were referred to and had quite a dodgy/sketchy experience with the tour we were set up on during our visit. I would recommend avoiding this specific tour and booking with a legitimate (URL HIDDEN) the guide we were referred to wasn't even certified.

Response from Muffa + Circulo Initiative:
We are very sorry to hear that the booze cruise did not fit your expectations. Since there was no cruise to be offered in San Juan del Sur that day, we tried our best to fulfill your needs and make your wishes come true anyway. We apologize that it was a disappointment. The prize of 49 Dollars incl. the 4 hour catamaran tour inc. booze and the return trip from SjDS to Playa Gigante.

I am an American-born Pakistani from the suburbs of Chicago, passionate about a whole new world. I grew up on a path to checking all the stereotypical boxes that I possibly could in the least amount of time possible. The more boxes I checked though, the less happy I became.

After ending my job as a Wall Street Consultant, I spent the next few years trying to become a social entrepreneur. I went on to become a volunteer on eco-lodges and permaculture farms in Central America and, eventually, worked my way around the world helping to build sustainable and regenerative projects in Australia, Philippines, Chicago and Peru. I focused on the intersection of business, nature, and community.

The culmination of my experiences and research is now evident in the Círculo Initiative, a family of eco-focused, for-purpose businesses in Nicaragua that are built on a mission to give more than they take – a model of conducting business and life in a way that our world desperately needs, one that is more regenerative.

I have the pleasure of working with an inspired team of travelers, foreigners and locals alike. You will be in direct communication with Kristen and Eduardo. They can help take care of anything you need.

We look forward to having you around!
