Ikuko was very welcoming and the location was perfect. Although it is close to several major roads, her home is a quiet and peaceful oasis. The room and bath were clean and the bed was extremely comfortable.
Note for sensitive travelers: the bedroom is lofted above the kitchen/living area with a small spiral stair, and while it is very private, because there is no door, I was awakened in the early morning both days by sounds in the kitchen, and in the evening, the smell of cooking was noticeable (though it smelled delicious).
I was attending a long seminar in Venice. I had a wonderful experience staying in Ikuko's lovely home. The loft is as described. I will agree, at first navigating the spiral stairs was challenging. After running up and down so many days in a row, they were not a problem. Ikuko was kind and generous. I felt perfectly comfortable coming and going as I pleased. Her home is in a quiet place with easy access to the main roads and grocery stores.
I had a great time at Ikukuko's place. She was very friendly and even helped with free parking at museums. Some people had problems with the construction and the noise, but I did not hear anything at night. I guess they have finished the loud part of the job already and they are quiet now…So if you are in LA, her place is highly recommended!
Ikuko is a great host - friendly and helpful. I'd stay there again. The mattress on the bed was soooo comfy.
Ikuko is a sweet heart ! Lots of good times to be had, she volunteered to take me to many places to check things out. We spoke about life, business, Travels, sociology and the California lifestyle. She is incredibly generous and open minded.
She is young open minded and loves the japanese people.
Very pleased to have made a friend from California!
The reservation was canceled 4 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.
Ikuko was extremely accommodating with my last minute decision to visit LA for the July 4th weekend. She was able to get me in with just a few days notice and was very communicative with clear instructions. She's really easy going and her place is perfect for 1 person, includes a private shower and toilet. It's perfect for those looking to visit Santa Monica or UCLA which are very close by. I would highly recommend this place to any solo traveler!
