About This Listing
Nestled near downtown Provo, Utah--a city recently voted one of the best downtown areas in the US--this cozy and artistic apartment comfortably fits up to four guests (in two rooms) and is conveniently connected to most major venues in the valley.
This lovely bedroom has a FULL-SIZE BED. It can accommodate up to two (2) people (the price increases slightly for a second person). It is a great place to SLEEP, WORK, and RELAX. The apartment is just a couple blocks away from downtown Provo where you can enjoy several great restaurants, including Southern (US), Indian, Japanese, Vietnamese, Navajo, Italian, Thai, and Mexican cuisine, to name a few. A couple of music clubs are nearby, as well as the beautiful Provo City Library. And it's nestled next to the mountain, which provides some great hiking and lovely views.
The living room has a large window in which hangs a prism that, when the light hits just right, shoots rainbows around the room. It’s one of my favorite things!
Here are a few features of the place:
•Lots of natural light
•Great space to sleep or work
•Shared kitchen, living room, and bathroom (just me)
•Lots of privacy
•Coin-operated laundry services nearby
•Great reading available
•Wonderful place to relax
•Free off-the-street parking
As you can see, this is a clean, comfortable, beautiful, and cozy space. It offers easy access to many major local attractions, as well as a lot of privacy and quiet. I’m happy to have you as my guest!
This is one room in a three-bedroom apartment (I live in one of the other rooms). The home is functional, quiet, and beautiful, and as my guest you also have access to the whole rest of the lovely space.
There is a shared bathroom, but lots of privacy. Linens and towels are provided.
Interaction with Guests
I sometimes travel and am away, but if I am here, I welcome interesting conversation. However, I will respect any desire for quiet/privacy.
Here are a few more features of the location:
•Two blocks from 830 bus, which comes every 15 minutes and connects directly with Frontrunner train station, BYU, and UVU
•One mile away from the Provo Frontrunner (train) station
•Nice, quiet, and safe neighborhood
•Couple blocks away from new Downtown Provo LDS temple site
•Few blocks away from major grocery store ( Smith's)
•Few blocks away from Utah Valley Convention Center
•Few blocks away from the Marriott Hotel
•Few blocks away from Provo City Library
•Close to BYU and UVU
•Close to Provo Canyon, Rock Canyon, American Fork Canyon, and Spanish Fork Canyon
•Close to direct freeway access
Utah is not necessarily known for its great public transportation. However, there have been major improvements in the last few years and this apartment is in a prime location to access what is available.

5 minutes to I-15 freeway access
10 minutes to Provo Canyon
10 minutes to Rock Canyon
25 minutes to Sundance ski resort

25 minutes to Spanish Fork Canyon

50 minutes to Park City

3 minutes to downtown
5 minutes to grocery store
5 minutes to Provo City Library

By bus (a three-minute walk):
10 minutes to BYU
10 minutes to Provo train station
20 minutes to University Mall
30 minutes to UVU
35 minutes to Orem train station
1 hour to downtown Salt Lake City
1 1/2 hours to SLC International Airport
FROM SLC INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT:
The easiest and cheapest way to get from the SLC airport is to take the TRAX green line to the station downtown (500 W & North Temple), and then take the Frontrunner train all the way to the Provo station. You can catch TRAX into downtown every five or ten minutes, but the train runs less often. You can check the schedule online--search for ride UTA. There is free WiFi on the train. Provo train station is only about a mile (two kilometers) from my place, but it is not the easiest walk to make. You can take the 830 Northbound (to Orem Station) bus and get off at the stop around 133 N University Ave. From there it's a two-block walk to my place. Or you can call me and I'm happy to pick you up. I believe TRAX tickets are $2.50 for one way and the Frontrunner (train) ticket from SLC to Provo will be $3.05. Major credit cards and cash bare accepted for both, but only exact change is accepted for bus fare.
GETTING AROUND TOWN:
There are several convenient buses with nearby stops that directly connect with BYU and UVU, as well as other major locations. Bus fare is $2.50 each way, and if you are transferring to another bus you can request a transfer slip from the driver to avoid paying another fare within about two hours.
If you plan on using the bus quite often while here, I would suggest looking into a UTA FAREPAY card, which is a convenient way to pay.
If you would rather bike your way around town in the many convenient bike lanes, there are several nearby places that rent bicycles by the hour, day, or week.
Lastly, if walking fits your style better, you can access BYU within 10 minutes, as well as restaurants, clubs, grocery stores, the gorgeous Provo library, the new LDS temple site (still under construction), and the historic downtown Provo.
My biggest "rule" is respect: from the guest, from the host, and for the space. This is a non-smoking residence, and I would prefer not to have alcohol on the premises.
Kiri was a great host. She met me on arrival, gave me a key, and showed me the apartment. The location is great. Just a few blocks from the center of Provo. Off street parking, clean accommodations, and a friendly and gracious host make this wonderful place to stay. This was my first time with airbnb and Kiri helped make it a success. I enjoyed visiting with her and was thankful for her local knowledge.
Kiri was absolutely an amazing host. Perhaps the best host I've ever had. She is very welcoming and helpful. She shared many restaurants around the neighborhood.
The neighborhood is very safe and people are very friendly. Everything is a walking distance. And mountains all around. Thanks Kiri- it felt like home!
Very friendly hostess accommodated all of our needs. Well situated quadruplex near Provo library and historic main street. Easy and free street parking. Highly recommended!
Kiri was a very gracious and kind hostess. She goes out of her way to make sure that your needs are met and is always there to answer any of your questions. She is open and friendly and even offers extra goodies like free passes to yoga! The bedroom was very comfortable and the entire living space was very clean. Parking was easy and the neighborhood was safe. It was near downtown Provo with plenty to do. I would highly recommend Kiri to anyone who is looking for a place to stay.
This apartment was perfect for a visit to Provo. It is centrally located with respect to BYU campus, downtown, and other Provo attractions. Kiri was a great host with a well organized space, and she really anticipated our needs. I would definitely stay here again.
Good location - close to downtown, 20 min walk to BYU and on the bus route.
I spent most of my time working at BYU but wish I had more time to get to know Kiri better. She's easy going and a gracious host.

About the Host, Kiri
As a fellow traveler, I know the value of a comfortable place to stay, a good value, and the kindness of strangers, all of which have be provided to me at different times. In a way, www.airbnb.com is my way of proverbially returning the favor.
I have lived or worked in and/or traveled to about 15 countries, and I have worked with international students from over 40 countries for about 10 years. I hope to see much more of this beautiful world and its people.
