PRIVACY, LUXURY, LAKE ACCESS WITHOUT THE CROWDS.
We have the best location in the Lake Tahoe Basin: walk to the Lake, the best North Shore restaurants, the 24 hour supermarket, recreation, and more. This modern and romantic mountain retreat is the perfect size for a couple or a small family or group of friends. The property has a spectacular lake view, but the unit has a "garden" view of the well-manicured pool and spa area in the rear of the property.
The compact studio is about 450 square feet, 40 square meters, and comfortably sleeps 2 adults and 2 children (we will accept up to 4 total occupants of any age if you don't mind using the bunk beds and sharing the queen bed). The studio offers one queen murphy (fold-up) bed and one twin bunk bed in a sunny nook which can be used for additional guests or children. Our cozy studio is only 7 miles (11 minutes) to Northstar. We're also less than a 25 minute drive to many other North Shore resorts: from world-class destinations like Squaw Valley or Alpine Meadows, to affordable locals' favorites like Mount Rose, Diamond Peak, or Homewood.
Any time of year, you can take a walk on the beach at sunset. Or take a short easy drive to North shore casinos, amazing restaurants, and several of kings beach's many parks and recreation areas. Walk across the street to 'back-door' access to a network of hiking or cross-country-skiing trails. Enjoy a massage or facial at a quaint, locally-owned North Lake Massage and Skin Care spa less than a mile away. Unwind in our community hot tub, under the stars, just a short dash out the back door.
Monthly bookings available. The monthly rates vary by season and the rate shown is the off-season monthly rate. Rates can be substantially higher during the peak summer months - please enter your dates for an instant quote or inquire with the owner for more details. Any stays longer than 28 days require an additional damage deposit (above the $300 standard deposit held by Airbnb) and are subject to Airbnb's "long-term" cancellation policy -- Airbnb will provide the details of this policy upon booking.
For all bookings, signing a rental agreement is required prior to receiving access instructions (see house rules).
The private studio on the ground floor has a basic, coin operated laundry facility the next door over and a short path down to a private, residents-only beach. There is a pool in summer and an outdoor hot tub under the stars year round.
Interaction with Guests
This is a private condo without any shared space or interaction with the owner other than by email, text, and phone if you need anything.
Through the booking process I will send you a short rental contract to sign which outlines all the house rules including how to manage keys, dishes, garbage, remotes, and other important information.
We put our trust and respect in you to take great care of our beautiful studio.
Great location and modern digs. We enjoyed this North Tahoe apartment. It's a 2 minute walk to the beach and a short drive to Tahoe City, where some of our favorite restaurants and shops are. We will book again!
Such a wonderful place! Very easy to get in and out of the apartment, extremely clean, and right by the water! Sanna did a great job of coordinating before the trip and was wonderful to work with! Would def recommend staying here. It is absolutely stunning :)
Sanna's studio is just fantastic. It's cozy and warm, we just feel at home. We even consider staying in instead of going out and discovering Lake Tahoe since the place was so great. It is exactly as advertized and even better. We are so lucky to have been able to rent the place. It is ideally situated. I recommend it.
Sanna is professional and very thorough with all the instructions. The list Description is accurate. It's pretty much everything I expected.
Good location & clean room, but misleading title, & had to clean up ourselves.
Never met the host, but she was kind in our online correspondence.
Pros: It is in a good location. There are great breakfast places (Log Cabin: AMAZING), pizza places, and other restaurants (plus a Safeway) nearby. Also, you're close to (not on) the lake, and can have walks along the shore not far away. The sunset is unbeatable. The room was clean, and looked new. Loved the interior decorating-- lots of wood surfaces with bohemian touches. It was very us, very fun, and we appreciated the minimalistic & unique character of the home. Also, there was a binder when we arrived, which contained local recommendations & activities. Certainly a lot to do & see in this area, while still giving a feeling of quiet & calm amongst beautiful trees and a tranquil lake.
Cons: The title & photos are misleading. This is not a lakefront room, but the room IS attached to a lakefront property. The front door leads to a parking lot, and the back door to a communal small yard. We thought it was a lakefront room/view, and that we had a private beach--to ourselves. But it's a "private beach" that's shared with all the neighbors in this community (lots of kids), as well as everyone in the apartments of this property. Had we known the walk to the lake, and the lack of privacy, we would have booked elsewhere. Also, there were so many rules getting in, and leaving. Though we paid the cleaning fee, the binder was filled with things we had to clean up and leave a certain way. There were details about how to clean the dishes (all which must be clean before the cleaner came), how to clean this & that, we had to take out all the trash before leaving, leave the air one way, the heat another way, and the list goes on and on. This would have been fine if 1) a friend was hosting us for free (but we paid for this service), and 2) if the house was in perfect shape when we got there. However, the dishes were not clean. And the back door/screen was broken and we couldn't exit from the back into the small yard at all. So though we had to make sure it was in tip top shape when we left, it wasn't actually in tip top shape when we came.
Overall, we had a fair stay, but would not stay again. We enjoyed the location, and the lake is gorgeous. But we would rather have spent our money on a better view (or more accurate view), where we didn't have to clean the whole house, or deal with broken doors & dirty dishes. If you just need a room in a good area, stay here! If you want an exceptional stay with with relaxation & ease, look elsewhere. It's cool. But average.
We really enjoyed our stay in Sanna's studio. They location is perfect with access to everything we need. The studio is equipped well, and Sanna also made our check-in and out easy. I highly recommend this place, and would love to come again!
The apartment is fantastic- beautifully decorated and the private beach is a real plus.

I am a biologist working for Stanford University. My family has had a cabin in the Lake Tahoe Basin for decades and I believe there's no better vacation spot in the world. I take care to apply eco-friendly principles and high-quality products and materials in the rental spaces I offer.
