Sabine was very welcoming, friendly and accommodating.
The apartment was absolutely perfect, the beds were super comfortable and Sabine had provided everything we needed.
The apartment is a great location, it is within walking distance from the market on Saturdays & Wednesdays and it is on the quieter part of the main shopping street.
I can't recommend this apartment enough.
Thank you Sabine & Martin for your hospitality!
Great place to stay - clean, comfortable & well equipped. Parking is close by & it is easy walking distance to the supermarket, as well as all of Leiden's attractions.
Sabine and Martin made us feel welcome at their apartment in Leiden. Everything was clean and tidy and as described. Rooms are light and airy and well furnished. The kitchen and bathroom are well equipped. There are two steep staircases - one spiral - which were a bit tricky to climb with heavy suitcases!
The neighbourhood is very pleasant and allows for easy access to the centre of the city of Leiden. The city itself is very beautiful and worthy of a visit- plenty of bars and restaurants and canal-side walks along with a lively market on Saturday morning. We were very happy to have chosen Leiden as our base for the weekend and found that we could easily travel into Amsterdam by train too - there is an excellent rail service and it is only a thirty minute journey through interesting landscape.
As a light sleeper, we found that we had to close the bedroom window at night in the main room because there was a steady trickle of good-natured but vocal passers-by that continued well into the small hours! The second bedroom is much quieter at the back of the property.
Overall we would recommend this property and would like to thank Sabine and Martin for their hospitality.
My friends and I were warmly greeted by Martin, Sabine's husband on arrival. The apartment has three levels. Level 1 is the entrance, with a big table, chairs and a couch. Level 2 comprises of the kitchen, living area and the toilet, washer & dryer. This area is where we spent most of our (email hidden), and having meals. Level 3 has two bed rooms, one with a queen bed, another room was set up with two single beds. The shower with a bathtub is in between the rooms. Keep in mind that you will need to climb the flight of stairs, we had a bit of trouble because of our luggages.
Sabine's place is within walking distance to Haarlemmerstraat, Leiden Market. You will need to take a bus to Leiden Centraal, buses comes about every 15-20mins.
Thanks Sabine for having us at your cozy place, a 'home' for us far away from home! Hope you enjoyed the strawberries!!
Sabine was a wonderful host and very flexible when our arrival time was delayed due to traffic. The photos online gave a very accurate description of the space and the location was truly in the center of everything. We would definitely stay here again!
Sabine hosted my family coming from abroad for the two weeks surrounding my wedding. They (and I) were very happy with their stay in her house! Sabine and her husband Martin were very friendly and attentive, and the house very spacious, comfortable and well-located. I would only point out that the house (three levels) has two steep spiral staircases that proved to be a bit difficult for my mother who has trouble walking these days, so perspective low-mobility guests should be aware of this. Otherwise, I would (and likely will) recommend this house to future visitors to Leiden! Thanks again!
Sabine made us very welcome and was able to make some suggestions for places to eat and places to visit. The property is well located near to the centre of Leiden and is well equipped and comfortable. There was plenty of room to store our bicycles. There are lots of places to eat and a large supermarket is only a couple of minutes away. Leiden itself is very interesting and is centrally located in the Netherlands with a good train service if you want to see more of the country. The Friday morning cheese market at Alkmaar is a must (summer only). We had a great time and the weather was perfect.
