LIttle house in the city

House - Private room · Cummings St, Toronto, ON M4M 1M8, Canada

Great cheap place to stay in the city. you stay with either me(i think im alright and pretty effin fun) or my new roomie/helper Stas(alse great and awesome). we will take you to fun places and show you some things you should not miss in the city!

The Space

IMPORTANT, haha..>>MY HOUSE BURNT DOWN!!! shit eh? no more amazing adventures with all you Airbnb lovelies. i cant believe its gone:( oh well..i had the greatest time every sharing my space with all the wonderful people i have met over the years:)

Hey yall! So for the next little bit its going to be Stas at the house and not me, but from the last 3 guests ive heard that hes been amazing so dont fret because im not there...we are both fun and Stas is really excited to meet you new people! I will definitely still help you out with getting to know the city but it will be remotely here from thunder bay:) !

I love game of thrones...if you wanna talk about it with me i will dock 5 dollars easy from your stay;) my house is, how do you say....special? Yes, very special...I call it the one person shack...its a tiny little war time house that i have turned into a little piece of heaven:)
It is a two bedroom with one bathroom and a Kitchen/living room combo space. The back yard is a room onto itself! i have a shed back there that is actually another bedroom and its where all the amazing dinner parties go down! The "SHED BED" as i like to call it is more for me when the rooms in the house fill up. i have one room with a door and one room with a curtain...its a pretty great curtain. The house is full of my art so that is pretty cool to be sure! (juuuuust throwing it out the winter my back yard is not as cool. haha. so like right now, its just covered in snow and old party fossils;)

When a guests comes and stays with me they should expect the absolute greatest time of their lives, haha....i mean i want to make that sound less intense..but its kind of true! Its not all me and my house...generally people rule, so they play a big role in making there time here THE BEST! Food wise, if im there, the fridge will be packed with healthy stuff that you are more then welcome to get at. If I'm not there then i will make sure that there is Milk and cereal and eggs and stuff for you to make breakfast:)

MY NEIGHBOURHOOD IS AMAZING!! East side for LIFE! its totally great where i live and there is actually an insane amount of transit that will take you anywhere in the city you need to go! All my neighbours are great and it is just a warm amazing environment to have a blast in.

Honestly you gotta just get over here...if i get a chance to show you this city, you aint never gonna leave;)

DISCLAIMER there are a couple things i do not have and will probably not get in the near future
- A door for the big the curtain and you will too. most of the time guests stay in the room with the door. that being said, no one has complained about just having a sheet!
-My oven does not work. sorry bakers...this is not your jam! The stove top works(ok..the left elements work...i cant seem to figure out this stove of mine...but yah you will have the ability to make food;) like a gem just no oven!
-no microwave. never understood those bad boys.
- pretty much all my faucets leak in some way shape or form...but only in an nnoying way...its not gonna cause any problems...the bathroom one just makes this drip sound if you dont turn it off all the like, just turn it off all the way, haha. kitchen, use the right sink. done, easy;)

Guest Access

i dont know what this means...but you have access to whatever you maidenhead excluded(if you watch game of thrones then obsessed;)

Interaction with Guests

hahahah. Oh man. if you read the reviews you will see that i kind of infiltrate your lives for the better:) that being said, if you are not a fan of human interaction(which is totally fine) i will leave you alone...i will urge you to come with me to at least see the best view of toronto...after that you can be completely alone...i mean i might make you breakfast in bed by accident one day but ill learn from my mistakes;)
This all being said , im moving soon and have another awesome friend(Stas) looking after the house. he is also cool but respectful of peoples privacy or lack there of:)

The Neighborhood

MY NEIGHBOURHOOD IS AMAZING!! did i mention that we just acquired Torontos only mechanical bull!!!

great restaurants, lots of stuff to do. its one of toronto new little "cool"spots...i mean that means nothing but its awesome none the less. if you like coffee we actually have the greatest coffee shop in the world!!(rated by all my guests who have come here!)

Getting around

SO EASY. i live at like a public transit junction. you can honestly get anywhere so easily via street cars that run 2 blocks from my house

  • a huge thanks to ricky for sharing his sweet little space with me. the house has a peaceful energy to it and was a great place to come back to. additionally the location couldn't have been better (streetcars super close and tons around to just walk to). i absolutely fell in love with toronto just like he says you will! although i didn't get to meet ricky in person, he gave me great advice on what to do, how to get there, and even offered to walk me (by phone) to his fav coffee spot! just go! you'll be glad you did!

  • Looking forward to staying and meeting Ricky. I had an accident on the way to Toronto and never made it. we are alive and nobody is dead just very soar. We are recovering well and look forward to visiting Ricky in the new year.

  • I enjoyed staying at ricky's place. The location is nice and easy to find. Little friendly home in a Quiet neighbourhood. It's only 10 min to get to the heart of the city by public transportation. My host was very kind, down to earth and helpful.
    Delicious brackfast and fresh fruits.
    Warmly recommended!

  • What can I say about Ricky other than that I had the most amazing time staying with him...his house is a lovely chilled out neighbourhood near parks, cafes, was perfect.
Ricky went out of his way to make sure I had fun in Toronto and I was lucky enough to meet some of his super-cool friends at a Halloween party...and we did pumpkin carving too! He also introduced me to the best coffee shop I've ever been too...but I'll let him share the secret with you!
    Don't (email hidden)ok today!!

  • A very generous and warm-hearted host. It's a shame that I didn't have more time to hang out with Ricky. Highly recommended!

  • Just give me a reason for not staying at Ricky's place more than a life !!??
(website hidden) (a song we sang every day !!!)
Better than a host, better than a pumpkin on the sidewalk, better than crunches on the street, better than a race in Mont tremblant, better than a home made smoothie after a short night, better than a road trip to Montréal, better than a dance with him and Rihanna, better than a barbecues with friends, better than an experience everyday, he is everything at the same time : an amazing and unbelievable person.
I had the chance to meet in my life. HE IS happiness .
It was an amazing experience, he made me feel confortable at all times. He is generous and life in Toronto without him would have been useless and sad.

He is now one of my most delicious friend, and hope to keep in (website hidden) : Sharing with him a movie on Netflix is as funny as an intense actor we both love !

  • After having 2 great airbnb stays, I decided to go visit Toronto and use airbnb again to stay somewhere close to downtown and get a great deal. Did I have 3 out of 3 great stays? You betcha I did! :)

Ricky was out of town, but he provided me precise directions to his place from the bus station and his communication via email was top notch. I got to the house and everything was clean and it was easy to get in. Another guy was staying there and he was very cool and we actually hanged out during my 2 days in Toronto! He gave me a tour of the house and there was amazing art hanging up everywhere!

The bathroom was clean and there was available towels/toiletries if needed. The kitchen and fridge was fully stocked, so if you wanted to cook anything, you were totally able to. The bed was comfortable to sleep in.

There is a really great backyard to hang out in with lots of plants and flowers, it was quite nice to have morning breakfast out there.

The streetcar to downtown is literally a 5 minute walk or less and the area is in Leslieville, a really cool part east of downtown Toronto. For those of you who like to run, there is a great trail within 5 - 10 minutes walk west of this place.

This place is AMAZING and when I come back to Toronto, this is where I will be staying. I strongly recommend staying at this place when you come to Toronto.

  • Awesome little house, close to both Queen and Dundas lines and the city. Ricky is also one of the coolest people you will met. Easy going, fun and all round awesome guy! He also makes the best fruit smoothies :)

I stayed with Ricky for a week, while I tried to find a place to live in Toronto.. With Ricky's good knowledge of the area, he knew which places to avoid when looking. Which made it even easier when looking through endless ads.

If you want a funky little place to stay, with an awesome host in Toronto this is it :)

    Keep in touch Ricky!

  • Ricky is a great host! I got very good tips on how to spend time in Toronto. The house looks very artsy; conveniently located on the streetcar line to downtown (a 10 min ride to Yonge St). The neighborhood is nice and quite; a great place to relax.

I'm a fun young guy who loves to show people a good time. I'm an artist and a traveler and a lover of short shorts. I'm tall, slightly scared of a heavy beard and am constantly looking for caves that lead to magic and stuff. oh...if you have a heavy beard, please come...i need to work on this silly fear! Im also another person as of this week ,haha. Im moving to Thunderbay to open a hostal(I really liked hosting with airbnb these last 3 years so im going big!) so i will be in and out of TO. My friend Stas, who is AMAZING, will be at my place in my absence. yall will get along just fine;)
