Terry and his location were excellent, he helped with all questions and had visitor guides in the guesthouse. There is plenty of restaurants, shopping and laundromat 2 blocks away. I went to the nearby French Riviera Spa Gym and it was only $20 for a 10 day pass. I would definite stay here again when in Memphis.
Terry was so nice and accommodating even though we got stuck in traffic and arrived way later than planned! The room itself was nice spacious and clean. Thank you Terry and Chuck
Terry's place was our very first Airbnb experience. We spent two nights at his place and very much enjoyed the accommodations. Terry had magazines and brochures available so we could get some ideas on what to do; it was easy to find our way to various places from his home.
Excellent communications! No problem booking. The guesthouse is clean, especially the bathroom (which is spacious for an older home). We had a thorough orientation about basics such as TV, light switches, places to go, and checkout times. Backing out of the driveway can be a little tricky during rush hour, but at other times it is fine. Also, traffic noise is not an issue in the morning or at night for sleeping. The location is in a quiet neighborhood and conveniently it seems to be within 20 minutes to anything you want to do in Memphis. Terry recommended Central BBQ which is less than 3 blocks away and it turned out to be our favorite ribs with a thick bark and nice seasonings. The furnishings are a nice mix of classic and modern. Our bed was a little creaky, only enough to notice, but not enough to keep us awake. The bed linens were awesome and the towels plush. The couches were comfy. The kitchen is functional but smallish if you are making a huge meal with more than 1 person in it, but we ate out all the time since it is Memphis after all! It had coffee and tea and basic spices to get you going. Great place. Great value. Would definitely come back!
We liked being in a neighborhood outside of in Memphis. The unit was spacious and a good value. One bed was very comfortable but the other one squeaked every time you turned. Even though their was no smoking , the unit had a smokey odor when entering the unit, but quickly disappeared. Terry was friendly and communicated very well on airbnb.
About the Host, Terry
Memphis native, although a military career sent me around the world. Knowledgeable of historic Memphis landmarks. Generally you can find me with a book, usually have 3 going at the same time, or in the garden or working on a landscape project. Enjoy meeting new people and developing a friendship, talking about the city, recommending places to dine, trust me I have been to most and have my preferred list, mexican, bbq, casual dining or our famous breakfast stop just a few blocks from the house.
