Cheri was a great host, she was very friendly and greeted us upon arrival. She showed us our suite and recommended some nearby breakfast places for us.
The suite is clean, cute, and had some great decor. Guests should note that although the suite is separate, it is not 100% private. As newlyweds, we hoped it would have been a bit more private.
We only stayed one night with Cheri and enjoyed our stay by picking up a pizza from town and watching Back to the Future on her couch. That morning, Cheri came in our suite and left us breakfast pastries, which was very nice of her.
Cheri's house is very well delicate and in a very beautiful location with mountain views. Everything is clean in her house and the whole first floor is ours which is very big for two people. She is a very nice woman and has two friendly dogs. The house needs about one hour drive to get into the yellowstone national park but the view along the way is good so we don't mind. We have a wonderful stay in her house. Thank you.
My wife and I had a great stay with Cheri for three days while we toured Yellowstone and The Grand Tetons. This was our first airbnb stay in someone's home and it was a nice first experience. Overall, the stay was a great value.
Cheri's description of the space was accurate and, with the exception of a couple of hairs on a pillow, the space was very clean and well-maintained. There are a couple of quirky things with the coffee maker and the hot water in the bathtub upstairs, but Cheri does a great job with providing signs that describe how those things work.
Here are some tips if you are considering renting from Cheri:
- The location is great; however, Yellowstone is a big park and you will spend a lot of time driving to and from the opposite sides of the park in the morning and evening.
- The shower/tub is upstairs, while the primary living area for guests is downstairs; Cheri does a great respecting your privacy, but bring a bathrobe or other clothing to wear to and from the upstairs bathroom.
- As there is no A/C, if the temperature is hot outside, it can get hot in the house. So, you may have to prop open the windows in the bedroom at night if you prefer to sleep in a cool bedroom.
- There is no place close to get breakfast. Cheri does give you scones or muffins in the morning, but you may want to buy other food if you want to eat before you head out to the park.
- There are some good restaurants in Cody, about 30 minutes east of Cheri's (including our favorite, the Proud Cut Saloon), in the opposite direction from Yellowstone.
I apologize for the 2 hairs you found on a pillow. Sometimes very light weight things like hair, lint or dust can fly around in the air when you vacuum. I try to check everything very carefully, however something will occasionally slip by me.
I always travel with a bathrobe just in case of an unexpected occurrence, like a fire. You wouldn't want to be caught outside in your underwear! Good suggestion, Scott.
About no A/C, it never gets warm in the suite in the summertime as the temperature outside cools down to the 40's to 50's at night. I do have 4 fans if anyone wants one.
I always tell my guests to let me know if they need anything else. I would have been more than happy to supply your wife with more washcloths had you asked.
Restaurants: There is Yellowstone Valley Lodge 3 miles from my house to the east. They serve breakfast, lunch and dinner. I don't know if they weren't serving breakfast when you were here, but I understand they were having some issues getting kitchen help. My guests that came the day you left were able to have meals there. Also, there is a restaurant 1 mile to the west and numerous lodges along the North Fork highway on the way to Yellowstone that serve meals to the public.
I just want to say again how much I enjoyed having you as guests and I hope you will try Airbnb lodging for any future trips.
Cheri was fabulous and her house was perfect for our family vacation to Yellowstone. We rented both the downstairs and upstairs rooms for four of us. The place was clean, with a great view from the deck, and friendly hummingbirds to greet us in the mornings and early evenings. Cheri also left excellent muffins for us each morning, which was a nice touch. Got to meet her and her husband, but also felt like we had the place to ourselves.
Our stay at Cheri's house made our Yellowstone trip a wonderful experience. Cheri was very nice and helpful. She sent me a list of equipments necessary for best experience at Yellowstone. She made the house very comfortable for us and even prepared breakfast cakes that she made by herself. The two dogs are very lovely, friendly and playful. The view from the house was gorgeous! Definitely recommend future guests to stay. I'll probably come back soon.
We really enjoyed our time at Cheri's place! It was super clean and the beds were really comfortable! Cheri is very nice and friendly, I also love her dogs!!!
Amazing! It is really a sweet house near Cody. And Cheri is so nice, she made muffins or scones for us every morning. The house is clean and has a nice view of the mountains. She also has two doddies, which are so friendly and smart. I love it.
